Anne Sessions Suite

Gloria Anne Sessions Suite, age 75, long-time resident of Tega Cay, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Dan Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Union Baptist
born in Columbia, Anne was the only daughter of the late Rufus Clyde Sessions, Sr. and Cleo Elizabeth Motley Sessions. She lived in Utah and Spokane, Washington during her childhood where she attended grammar school. Upon returning to Columbia, Anne graduated from Eau Claire High School then received her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from Columbia College and her Master's Degree from the University of North Carolina. She was the former co-owner of CMA, Inc. and CCI Travel. She served as a member of the Fort Mill School Board from 1983 until 1997 and was later involved in the Early Learning Partnership. She was instrumental in founding and an active member of the Fort Mill Rotary Club. She was a board member of the York County Adult Day Care Center. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Surviving are two sons, Jason Suite and Todd Suite, Both of Tega Cay; her brother, Raymond Sessions of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her sisters-in-law, Terri Sessions of Fort Mill Elaine Sessions of Kershaw County; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, R.C. Jr., R.M., Harry and T.T. Sessions.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Wolfe Funeral Home.

Patricia Brawlow Asplund

Mrs. Patricia Ann Braklow Asplund, 74, of Lake Wylie, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
The memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 at River Hills Community Church, with the Rev. Rammy Lybrand officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
born in Moline, Illinois, Pat was a daughter of the late Howard and Ava Braklow. She graduated from Boone High School in Boone, Iowa and the Lutheran Nursing School in St. Louis, Missouri. Patricia was a Realtor with Rinehart Realty in Lake Wylie. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Surviving are her husband, Dave Asplund; her son, John David Asplund of Lake Wylie; her daughter, Julie Ann Asplund and her fiancé, Randy Smith, of Fort Mill; and her brother, John Braklow and his wife, Vickie, of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Hemmeter.

Joseph Sistare

Mr. Joseph Alexander "Joe" Sistare, age 75, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012 at Douglas Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Dan Holloway officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Unity Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill with the Rev. Jeannie Bickett and the Rev. Jill Duffield officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
born in Lancaster, Joe was a son of the late Dickson Barnes Sistare and Harriett Elizabeth Sistare. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959 and also the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1963. Joe was retired from Duke Power and the Anne Springs Close Greenway and was a former employee with the Charlotte Knights. He was a charter member and Fire Chief of the Lugoff Fire Department for five years, was a member of the Winthrop Eagle Club, coached Little League Football for more than 20 years, was a member of the U.S.S. Beatty DDD 756 Association where he served as its president for three years, was a charter member of the Fort Mill Community Playhouse, was a volunteer fireman with the Flint Hill Fire Department. He also helped on the I.C.E. (International Christian Enterprise) in Romania, two mission trips to Honduras with the Heifer Project, , and made fourteen trips to Gulf Port, Miss. for Hurricane Katrina Relief. He was a former member of the Jackson Masonic Lodge in Lancaster, was a Charter Member and a Master Mason for 14 years of the Lugoff Masonic Lodge and was a Grand Pursuivant of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina, and was a Life Member of the Catawba Lodge No. 56 in Fort Mill. Joe was an ordained Deacon at Douglas Presbyterian Church and served on the active board at Rowan Presbyterian Church and Unity Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Zeta Gardner Sistare; his son, Joseph A. "Zan" Sistare II of Spruce Pines, N.C.; his daughter, Susan Hagins and her husband, David, of Lancaster and Teresa Campbell and her husband, Jason, of Fort Mill; his brother, Jack Sistare of Lancaster; two sisters, Louise Waldrop and Amelia Gardner, both of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Courtney, Meghan, Austin, Sadie, D.J. and Emma; and two great-grandchildren, Julianna and Caroline.
Daddy Joe will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. He touched so many lives, young and old.

Robert "Bunny" Marshall

Robert Knight “Bunny” Marshall was born September 8, 1927 at St. Phillips Hospital, Rock Hill, South Carolina to Mr. Franklin Dewey Marshall, Sr. and Mrs. Clara Hatton Marshall. Mr. Marshall was a descendent of John Thompson Marshall, 1801 – 1860, of Edinburgh, Scotland. He attended Winthrop Training School from 1934 – 1945. After graduating from WTS, he attended Emory University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Divinity. While at Emory, he was a member of the Emory Glee Club, President of the Interfaith Collegiate Council of Atlanta, an active member of the Kappa Alpha Order, and a “special helper” to “Mrs. Sweety, ” the KA housemother.
Mr. Marshall served the Methodist church in the Anderson and Edgefield districts. He was a youth minister at the University of South Carolina and a staff member of the Board of Education. In 1963, he joined his father in the jewelry business and owned and operated Marshall Jewelry. He graduated from the Gemological Institute of America and was a certified gemologist. He attended Columbia Business School in New York and graduated as an honorary key member. He was Past President of the South Carolina Jewelers and a member of the US American Gem Society. Locally, Mr. Marshall was a member of the Rock Hill Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and Kiwanis Club. He was an active member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church serving as a teacher, youth worker, elder, choir member and Stephen Minister.
Bunny was a member of Father Wilkerson’s ski group which he enjoyed immensely as did all the men. Skiing was a sport he relished and was a sport he enjoyed sharing with his family. There are many fond memories of ski trips to Colorado and the North Carolina mountains.
He is survived by his wife Anne Hilton McLaughlin Marshall (member of The Society of First Families of South Carolina and the Huguenot society of South Carolina) and his oldest son, Robert K. Marshall, Jr., wife Donna, and their two children Anna Elizabeth Marshall and Margaret McCown Marshall. He is also survived by grandchildren, John Adam Marshall, Joshua David Marshall, and Ashley Marshall Yoakum. Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his sons, John Harold Marshall and David Preston Marshall.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 6:30 on Saturday, June 2 at the home.
The cremains will be inurned at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Oakland Presbyterian Church Memorial Gardens. The memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Dolores DeSimone Amaro

Mrs. Dolores Loraine DeSimone Amaro, age 70 of Indian Land, died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Agape Hospice in Rock Hill.
The visitation will be from Noon until 2 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2012 at Wolfe Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will held at Osceola Memory Gardens in St. Cloud, Florida.
born in Philadelphia, Penn., Dolores was a daughter of the late Theresa Schivone DeSimone. She was a waitress at the Ponderosa Restaurant in Kissimmee, Fla for 18 years before moving to South Carolina. Dolores was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and cooking.
Surviving are her husband of almost 50 years, Vincent Anthony Amaro; her son, Vincent Amaro, Jr. and his wife, Lorena, of San Juan Capistrano, Calif. and Kevin Amaro and his wife, Stacey, of Rock Hill; her daughter, Renee' Amaro Bergen and her husband, Edward, of Perkasie, Penn.; five grandchildren, Kelly, Anthony, Vinnie, Nathan and Alea.
Paul Reeves

Mr. Paul Allen Reeves, age 71, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at University Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte.
A graveside will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2012 Unity cemetery.
born in Rock Hill, Mr. Reeves was a son of the late Lucille Burden Reeves Threatt and the late Jonnie A. Reeves. He graduated from Commercial College in Columbia.
Surviving is his brother, Bobby Ray Reeves of Anderson. He was preceded in death by a infant brother, James Roger Reeves.
Carol Fisher Parker
(Died June 7, 2012)
Carol F. Parker, 86, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died at her home in Sun City Carolina Lakes, Indian Land, Fort Mill, SC on June 7, 2012.
Mrs. Parker was born April 13, 1926 in Spring Lake, N.J. to the late Dr. James A. and Janet Ackerman Fisher. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. James A. Fisher, Jr. and her sister, Joan Fisher Forsyth.
Mrs. Parker graduated from Northhampton School For Girls in Northhampton, MA in 1944 and attended Syracuse University. Mrs. Parker met her husband of 62 years in church in Asbury Park, NJ where they were married
June 3, 1950. During the next 55 years, they were both active in church and choral music in Easton, PA, Washington, DC and Alexandria, VA.
Mrs. Parker was always noted for her ability to make friends and remember names. She accompanied her husband through four years of undergraduate school at Lafayette College, where his fraternity brothers elected her Sweetheart of Sigma Chi in 1955. Mrs. Parker lived most of her married
life in Mount Vernon, VA where she was a member of the Mount Vernon Country Club for 44 years, the Mount Vernon Hospital Ladies Auxiliary for 33 years and the Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club. Locally, she was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church, Fort Mill, SC.
She is survived by her husband, Gayle. Surviving also are her daughter, Alison Parker, and grandson, Casey, of Louisville, CO and her son, Craig Parker, daughter-in-law, Monique and grandchildren, Bryce and Sarah, of Davis, CA. Also surviving are her brother-in-law, Royal Parker, of West Windsor, NJ; sister-in-law, Alice Fisher, of Oakhurst, NJ; and niece, Janet Forsyth, of Southern Pines, NC.
The family wishes to thank the Hospice of South Carolina and Care Haven Senior Home Care for their extraordinary care in her final days. The family is being served by Wolfe Funeral Home.

born in Charlotte, N.C, Mrs. Sams was a daughter of the late Allen Monroe Berryhill and Mary Agnes Powers Berryhill. She was retired from Uniroyal Tire where she was an assistant credit manager. Mrs. Sams later was a sales representative for AFLAC in Charlotte and was a member of the Central Church of God in Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Berry Sams in 2003.
Surviving are her sons, Joseph Berry Sams II and his wife, Denise, of Manning, S.C. and Alfred William Sams and his wife, Diane, of Longs, S.C.; her daughter Mary Joelyn Shugart and her husband, Billy, of Fort Mill and Sharon Williams and her husband, Mickey, of Danville, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Amy Middlekauff (Stephen), Billy Shugart II (Becca), Claudia Sams, Alex Sams, Savannah Sams and Christopher Yarborough (Dana); and ten great-grandchildren, Taylor and Will Chambers, Matthew Middlekauff, and Scout, Greer and Hayden Shugart and Addie, McKenzie, Chelsea and Hailey Yarborough.

Gayle Boatwright Sweatt

Mrs. Gayle Boatwright Sweatt, age 65, of Fort Mill, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Noon Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Fort Mill Church of God, with Bishop David Kemp, the Rev. Debbie Dyches and the Rev. Keith Hinson officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road in Rock Hill.
born in Rock Hill, Mrs. Sweatt was the wife of William T. Sweatt and was a daughter of the late Oscar Miller Boatwright and Gladys Willis Boatwright. She was a former employee of Springs Industries, PTL, Lance, YMCA and Food Lion. Mrs. Sweatt was a member of the Fort Mill Church of God, where she was a former member of the choir and also taught the 3 and 4 years old Sunday School Class. She enjoyed lap swimming and watching her grandsons play soccer.
Mrs. Sweatt is survived by her husband of 48 years, William T. Sweatt; her son, William T. Sweatt, Jr. "Tony" of Fort Mill; two grandsons, Anthony and Patrick Sweatt; her sister, Debbie Hudspeth and her husband, Keith, of Chester; her niece, Christi Butler and her husband, William, of Chester; and her great-niece, Lexi Butler.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to Noon, Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Fort Mill Church of God and at others times at the home.

They were preceded in death by their sister, Sadie Bouler.

born in Seneca, S.C., John was a son of the late Claude and Louise Bostick Godfrey. He received his HVAC Degree from Central Piedmont Community College and worked for Bahnson Company in Charlotte. John enjoyed woodworking and was a gun enthusiast.
Surviving are two brothers, Gene Godfrey and Ron Godfrey and his wife, Jane, all of Fort Mill; and his cat. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Marie Godfrey (2011)
