Kathleen Elizabeth Larsen, age 77 of Cypress Keys formerly of Huntington, Long Island, NY died Monday, May 3, 2004 at her home.
born July 11, 1926 in Bristol, Avon, England, she was the daughter of the late Percival and Elizabeth Mary Bozer Tovey. Mrs. Larsen was a retired secretary. She enjoyed crafts and traveling the world.
Surviving are sons, Paul Hemmer Larsen of Cambridge, New Zealand and Andrew John Larsen of Southampton, England; daughter, Heather Mann of Belleville, New Jersey; sister, Shirley McLaughlin of Murrells Inlet and grandchildren, R. Clifford Mann, Nial Martin Larsen, Edwina Rose Larsen, Ian Sean Larsen and Matthew George Larsen.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.

Hazel Lois Woodward Butler, age 94, wife of the late Leon P. Butler, Sr., died Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Conway Nursing Center.
Mrs. Butler was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Henry Holmes and Grace Dusenbury Woodward. She was a member of the Frist United Methodist Church of Conway and graduated from Columbia College. Mrs Bulter helped her son at Creative Pastime Hobby Shop on 3rd Avenue on Conway and was employeed with the Jerry Cox Co., and The Quality Shop.
Surviving are one son, Leon P. Butler, Jr. and his wife Betty of Conway; one grandson, Anthony Leon Butler of Wampee and one sister Paula Moore of Conway.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Ben Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Marvin Lee Jones, Jr., Ret. Col. US Army, age 84 of Caropines died Monday, May 3, 2004 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
born October 16, 1919 in Fayetteville, NC, he was the son of the late Marvin Lee Jones, Sr. and Marie Cain Jones. Mr. Jones was a graduate of Command and General Staff College in Ft. Levenworth, KS. He was the recipient of three Purple Hearts, a Silver Star and two Bronze Stars with clusters. Mr. Jones was a life member of the VFW and had retired in 1983 moving to the area from Winston-Salem, NC. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Wilkins Jones.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Jones; sons, John Wilkins Jones and wife Liz of Columbia and Deryl K. Jones and wife Patty of Surfside Beach; daughter, Suzette Jones Day and husband Roger of Sumter; step sons, Benny Pittman and wife Carolyn of Pawleys Island and Jerry Pittman of Garden City Beach; sisters, Elouise Ward and husband Harold of Holden Beach, NC and Mildred Norris of Charlotte and thirteen grandchildren.
Graveside service with full military honors will be 11:00 AM, Friday at Ocean Woodscemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00, Thursday at

Jimmy 'Jim' Wood

Jimmy D. "Jim" Wood, age 56, died Friday, April 30, 2004 in the Grand Bahamas.
Mr. Wood was born April 12, 1948 in Vernon, FL, a son of the late W.L. and Rosa V. Wood. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and sang in the church choir. Mr. Wood graduated from Myrtle Beach High School and in 1972 from Horry-Georgetown Technical College with an Associates degree in Civil Engineering. He also attended Coastal Carolina University and was a licensed General Contractor and owner of Jim Wood Construction. Mr. Wood was president of Horry-Georgetown Homebuilders Association in 1983 and 1993 and served on various boards for Horry-Georgetown Homebuilders Association. He was past chairman of Board of Appeals and was builder of the year in 2003. Mr. Wood was a member of the National Association of Homebuilders, served on City of Conway zoning and appeals board and was a member of the Cino Club at CCU. He was a member of the City of Conway and Myrtle Beach Chambers of Commerce.
Mr. Wood enjoyed boating along the Waccamaw with his beloved wife, and his many friends. He was an incredible father and loved his dogs, Majic, Bare and Jipsy.
Surviving are his wife Charley Causey Wood of Conway; one daughter, Alison W. Tuck and her husband Pedro of Moneta, VA; step-daughter, Carrie Henderson and step-son Doc Henderson both of Conway; two sisters, Isla V. Wood Bain of Conway and Barbara Wood of Austin, TX; two brothers Don Wood of Kuwait and Larry Wood of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Aaron Tuck, Davis Tuck and Lauralee Tuck of Moneta, VA
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday from St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Tripp Jeffords officiating.

Elwood Causey, age 79, of Quiet Avenue, died Monday, May 3, 2004 at Conway Nursing Center.
Mr. Causey was born in Horry County, a son of the late Frank Causey, Sr., and Lula Mew Causey. He was a member of Socastee Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Causey was a US Army sergeant veteran of WWII having served under General George S. Patton. Mr. Causey worked with A&P; and retired from Big Star. He was predeceased by his wife Erma L. Causey, one son Wayne Causey and a daughter Susan Causey.
Surviving are three sons, Jim Causey and his wife LaClaire W. of Conway, Joseph Mike Causey and his wife Sheryl of Fernandina Beach, FL., and Rev. Ron Causey and his wife Donna of Timmonsville; one daughter-in-law Carol Causey of Johns Island, SC; three brothers, Hubert Causey of Socastee, Theo Causey of Georgetown and Frank Causey, Jr. of Surfside Beach; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Thursday from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, with Rev. Jimmy Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest cemetery.

born October 24, 1913 in Hai Duong, Vietnam, he was the son of the late Thuy Quang Dinh and Ra Thi Pham. Mr. Dinh was a Colonel in the South Vietnamese Army.
Surviving are his wife, Giao Thi Nguyen; sons, Huy Quang Dinh, Vong Quang Dinh, Hai Binh Quang Dinh, Vinh Phuc Quang Dinh, Vinh Loc Quang Dinh, Vinh Tho Quang Dinh; daughters, Minh Tam Thi Dinh, Minh Tien Thi Dinh; sister Dinh Thi Gai and sixteen grandchildren.
Buddhist Service will be 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with Reverend Thich Tam Hoan and Bhikkhuni Thich Nu Nhu Bao officiating and visitation until 9:00 PM.
Farewell service will be 9:00 AM, Thursday at the funeral home with burial following at Hillcrest cemetery at 12:00 PM.
