Cody Leroy Suggs, infant son of Crystal and Tracy Suggs, of Highway 90, died Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Surviving in addition to his parents of Conway are one brother, Colby Gordon Suggs; paternal grandparents Kelvin and Monica Suggs and Debbie Hucks; maternal grandparents Leroy and Avis Sessions; paternal great-grandparents, Tom and Genese Suggs and Ann Brown and maternal great-grandmother Gladys Sessions, all of Conway.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Tom Swilley officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Tonprachan F. Doyle

Tonprachan "Dot" Doyle, age 53, wife of the late Joe Paul Doyle, of Highway 19 East, died Thursday, February 5, 2004 at her residence after an illness.
Mrs. Doyle was born in Thailand, a daughter of the late Lee and Gro Gorarat. She attended Cane Branch Baptist Church and was employed with Tarra Grinna in Conway.
Surviving are: two brother-in-laws, Carl Doyle and Bill Doyle both of Conway; one sister-in-laws Linda Rogers of Naples, Fl, Alma Lee Doyle of Loris and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday from Cane Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Harrelson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
Sumpter Reginald Garren

S.R. “Reggie” Garren, age 75 of Poinsett Rd, died Thursday, February 5, 2004 at his home.
born March 29, 1928 in Conway, he was the son of the late Bertrand C. and Edna Earle Dunn Garren. Mr. Garren was a graduate of Wolford College. He had been a teacher at Woodruff Elementary, Principle at Myrtle Beach Elementary and Guidance Counselor at Myrtle Beach High School retiring in 1983 after 30 years of service with the school system. Mr. Garren also had been a realtor with Hoyt Richardson Realty and owner of Sea Turtle Antiques in Myrtle Beach. He was a past member of the Myrtle Beach Rotary Club. Mr. Garren was a member of First United Methodist of Myrtle Beach where he was a member of the choir and the M.D. Moore Sunday School class. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn
Tompkins Garren, brother, A.B. Garren and sister, Sarah G. Wilkins.
Surviving are his son, Thomas Garren of Myrtle Beach and sisters and their husbands, Myrna and Joseph James of Isle of Palms, Martha Sue and Bill Martin of Forest Park, Ga., Laura and Ben Johnson of Conway and Sylvia Garren of Myrtle Beach.
Services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday t First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach. Burial will be private.

George Cleveland Leviner

G.C. (George Cleveland) Leviner 75, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Carrie Mae Howell Leviner for 57 years. He was a member, teacher and deacon of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and a lifelong farmer in Conway.
He was born March 31, 1928, in Conway, a son of the late S.L. Leviner and Marie Jordan Leviner.
He was predeaceased by a son, Jesse C. Leviner, grandchild Wendy Leviner, three brothers, Johnny Leviner, Carl Leviner and Jennings Leviner.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter, Judy L. Chestnut and husband Butch Chestnut of Conway, five grandchildren, Kim L. Harper, Scott Leviner, and Jessica Leviner all of Conway, Christopher Chestnut of Landrum, SC and Nichole Chestnut of Myrtle Beach and two great grandchildren of Conway. Also he has two brothers, Woodrow Leviner of Gresham and Winston Leviner of Conway and five sisters, Leila Cook of Andrews, Velma Coronett and Patsy Gregory of Florida, Edna Sipes and Sylvia Leviner of Conway. Two special sister in laws Jessie Maude Howell and Estherleen Howell both of Conway.

Virginia Slagle Butler

CONWAY - Virginia Slagle Butler of Long Avenue Extension died Saturday, October 22, 2005, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC, due to complications from surgery.
born in Franklin, NC, she was the daughter of the late Martha Adelaide Moore and Alfred Burton Slagle. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, George Calhoun “G.C.”Butler.
After graduating from Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, with a double major in Music and English, Mrs. Butler taught school in Lockhart, Spartanburg, and Loris. After WWII she returned to Horry County where she continued to teach music and English in the Aynor area. In addition, for many years, she gave private piano lessons, as well as coordinated many school and community musical events in Aynor.
Mrs. Butler was a businesswoman and civic leader, too. She was past co-owner of the Butler Furniture Company in Aynor, the Aynor Theater, and the Econo-Mart Stores of Conway, SC; Walhalla, SC; and Franklin, NC. She was a charter member of the Aynor Pilot Club and later named Pilot Woman of the Year. She was a member of the Aynor Methodist Church, where she served as organist and choir director for many years. In addition, she was a World War II Navy veteran, serving as a WAVE and member of the American Legion.
Retiring to Conway, she became an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she joined the Ladies’ Fellowship Class, the Bunnie Butler Missionary Circle, and the Triple L Club. She was honored with the Trinity United Methodist Woman of the Year Award.
Often, she enjoyed sharing her love of music by playing for the Ladies’ and Men’s Sunday School Classes. Her love of music furthermore was shared with many others during her volunteer work as a pianist at the Conway Nursing Center and Jordan Nursing Home.
Her survivors include a son George Alfred Butler and his wife Dianne Grainger Butler of Conway; a daughter Betsy Butler Wishert and her husband Billy Wishert of Springfield, SC; grandchildren Rayna Butler Brandes and husband Dr. Todd Brandes of Lexington; Jeffrey George Hoyt Butler and wife Anita Lankford Butler of Anderson; Virginia “Ginna” Butler Taylor and husband Dr. Ryan Taylor of Lexington; Matthew Butler Cody, of Surfside Beach; two great-grandsons, Benjamin Philip Brandes and Samuel Butler Brandes of Lexington; and a sister and nephew, Hattie and Edgar “Bud” Shope of Franklin, NC.
The funeral will be Monday at 1:30 P.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Conway, SC, with the Reverend Carl Hunsucker officiating. Burial will follow at the Patterson cemetery in Loris, SC directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.

born February 12, 1929 in Chevy Chase, MD, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Catherine Collins. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and had moved to the area in 1986 from Arlington, VA. She was preceded in death by a brother, Terrence Collins and sister, Leona Marchese.
Surviving are her husband, James H. Johnson; son, Richard A. Johnson of Winchester, VA; sisters, Shirley Jones and DeAnna Joan Hadden; brothers, Leonard Collins, Kenneth Collins and Al Michael Collins; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00, Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.

born in the Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late William and Mary Breuer. Prior to her retirement in 1993, Maria worked for Reader's Digest Assoc. in Pleasantville, NY as a Financial Analysis before moving to the area from Somers, NY. She was active in her community and served as HOA Board President. Maria was employed for twelve years with Jordan Properties. She was a devoted member of Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Robert D. Charon; children, Mary Ann Keogh and husband John, Robert D. Charon, JR. and wife Debbie and June Johnson and husband Pete of Surfside Beach; grandchildren, James Livelli of Surfside Beach, Kristen Tetley, Stacey Charon, Christopher Rosafort of Surfside Beach, Justin Keogh and Robert Adam Charon. III; brothers, Theordore Breuer, Paul Breuer and William Breuer of NY and many nieces and nephews.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Gettysburg, PA are his wife, Sandra Taylor Wenschof; son, Troy Dale Wenschof of Gettysburg, PA; daughter, Wendy Lee McMahon and husband Michael of Atlanta; granddogs, Roxanna, Austin and Dixie.

born December 29, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Robert Wesley and Clare Potter Schivera. Mr. Schivera was a World War II, US Marine Corp veteran. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach for 22 years and former member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Huntington, NY. He was preceded by his first wife Mary Elizabeth Majors Schivera and his second wife, Marilyn Fuchs Painter Schivera. Mr. Schivera was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Veda B. Schivera; sons, Robert W. Schivera and wife Nena of Savannah, Ga. and John A. Schivera and wife, Renee of Madison, AL; brother, Howard W. Schivera and wife, Frances of Dix Hills, Long Island, NY; step-daughter, Wynn B. Zuercher and husband Robert; step-sons, Edward Baggott, Jr. and wife Anne of Myrtle Beach; Roy Painter; grandchildren, Matthew, Kristen, Bryan, Allison and Austin Schivera, Joey Davis, Jared, Aaron and Alex Zuercher and Travis Baggott and great grandson, Tyler Davis.
