‘Buddy’ Bryson
ABBEVILLE — Charles B. “Buddy” Bryson, 63, of 311 Mitchell Place Road, husband of Jannie Louise Bryson, died Sept. 24, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
born in Fulton County, Ga., he was a son of Ethel J. Adkins Grinnell and Ernest Bernard Bryson. He was a retired electrician.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of Greenwood; are three sons, Charles Edward Bryson of Forsyth, Ga., and Richard Newton and Johnny Newton, both of Calhoun Falls; three daughters, Cathy Bryson and Lorrie Bryson, both of Georgia and Jaquava Bice of Tennessee; a sister, Betty Luker of Greenwood; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 Wednesday at Midway Baptist Church by the Revs. Bruce Moore and Donnie Murdock. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Matthew Kimsey, Jeff Kimsey, Roger Purdy, Michael Purdy, Ken Dutton and Andy Dutton.
The body will be taken to the home, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Charles D. Chandler
NINETY SIX — Charles D. Chandler Sr., 56, of 5914 Highway 178 S., husband of Peggy Wooten Chandler, died Sept. 23, 2001, at his home.
born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late William Shields and Mamie Dove Chandler. Retired from the Caravan Restaurant, he served in the Navy for 10 years, a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Philippines on the USS Oriskany (CV/CVA-34). He was a member of American Legion Post 20 and Moose Lodge No. 834.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Charles Donald Chandler Jr. of Milwaukee and Emanuel Crowder of McCormick; three daughters, Angela Marie Biessell of Tampa, Fla., Angela Boyce of Ninety Six and Tonya Gordon of Toccoa, Ga.; a brother, Olin Chandler of Ninety Six; a half brother, Lester Dove of Orlando, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 Wednesday at Harley Funeral Home by the Rev. Bennie Ridlehoover. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Mike Gordon, Dalton Boyce, Stanley Medlock, Neal Beggs, Russell Boyce, Stan Sullivan, Emanuel Crowder and Donnie Bryant.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Arnett Klugh
GREENWOOD — Arnett Klugh, 84, husband of Sarah Mathis Klugh, of 1407 Old Abbeville Highway, died Sept. 24, 2001, at Magnolia Manor.
born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late William Henry and Willie McGowan Williams Klugh. He was a retired employee of Aldrich Machine Works and a former employee of Greenwood Mills. A member of Beulah Baptist Church, he was former chairman of the Deacon Board, former assistant superintendent of the Sunday School, former president of the Senior Choir and a member of the Willing Workers Club and the Brotherhood. He was also a former member of St. Charles Masonic Lodge No. 310 and a former Shriner.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Arnett Klugh Jr. of Columbia, Robert Eugene Klugh of Greenwood and Jerry Klugh of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Linda Faye) Marshall of Greenwood; a sister, Sarah Belton of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, a step-grandson, and six great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Linda Marshall, 204 Holly Ave., Glendale Subdivision.
Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc., which is in charge.
Kevin M. McClendon
ARLINGTON, Texas — Kevin M. McClendon, 48, of 5900 Bay Meadow, husband of Jacqueline B. McClendon, died Sept. 24, 2001, at his home.
born in Philadelphia, he was a son of Mercedes M. Scott and the late Primus B. McClendon. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1972 and attended Piedmont Technical College, both in Greenwood, S.C. He was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Cokesbury, S.C., and T.D. Jakes the Potter’s House in Arlington.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother and stepfather, James A. Scott, of Greenwood; a son, Brandon K. McClendon of Greenwood; a brother, Barbre McClendon of Arlington; and a sister, Stephanie M. Simpson of Greenwood.
The family is at the home of his mother and stepfather, Mercedes and James Scott, 2303 Cambridge Road, Greenwood.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, Greenwood, which is in charge.

HODGES — James Broadus Timms, 86, of 1902 Morgan Road, husband of Sadie Owens Timms, died Sept. 23, 2001, at his home.
born in Greenwood County, he was a son of James T. “Jim” and Mamie T. Timms. He was a retiree of Greenwood Mills, Mathews Plant, a cattle farmer and a member of Donalds Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Broadus F. Timms of Hodges; two daughters, Betty T. Hatcher of Honea Path and Ann T. Williamson of Hodges; a brother, Hilt Timms of Donalds; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 4 Wednesday at Parker-White Funeral Home, Ware Shoals, by the Revs. Bruce Chambers, Rodney Jeanes and Robert Emory. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

SALUDA — Azziah La’Trenton Bryant, infant son of Cantrell and Linda Bryant, died Nov. 26, 2001.
He was born Nov. 8 at Palmetto-Richland Hospital, Columbia.
Survivors include his parents of Saluda; two brothers, Azavein Daunte’ Bryant and Treyon Ahmad Bryant, both of Saluda; and grandparents, Thomas S. and Martha L. Bryant of Saluda.
