GREENWOOD Richard Eugene Binet Sr., 80, of 303 Elizabeth St., Apt. 1, widower of Sara Binet, died Sept. 7, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
born in St. Paul, Minn., he was a son of the late Emile John and Thnora Christopherson Binet. He attended N.Y. University and retired from marketing and sales. He was a Navy World War II veteran, a member of the V.F.W. and was Catholic.
Survivors include a son, Rick Binet of Greenwood; a daughter, Mary Wilson of Greenwood; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 Sunday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Abbeville.

Linda Bowman Hart
RIDGE SPRING Linda Bowman Hart, 58, of 202 Green St., wife of Alex B. Hart, died Sept. 6, 2001, at University Hospital.
A daughter of the late Prue and Ruby Hampton Bowman, she was a manager for Wal-Mart and a member of United Methodist Church of Ridge Spring.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Linda Alexander of Summerville and Cindi Turner Raines of Hardeeville; a son, Ralph Steven Wilkie of Greenwood; a stepdaughter, Sandra D. Hart of Summerville; a stepson, Jody B. Hart of Columbia; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 Saturday at United Methodist Church by the Rev. John E. Kneece. Burial is in Ridge Spring cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jeff Wood, Mike Reeder, Billy Rae Reeder Jr., Roger Riddle, Burl Best, Jim Campbell, Joe Grandy and Francis Smith.

Marvin A. Reid
ABBEVILLE - Marvin Augustus Reid, 60, of 132 Cockfield Road in Abbeville and husband of Peggy Gilliam Reid, died Wednesday, September 5, 2001 at his home.
He was born in Spartanburg County and a son of the late Augustus and Bessie Allen Reid, He was retired from CSX Railroad, he was inducted into the South Carolina Field Trials Association Hall of Fame and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving are: wife, Peggy G. Reid of the home; stepson, Wessely McAllister of Belton; grandson, Logan McAllister of Belton; brother, Boyd Reid of Landrum. He was predeceased by brothers, Alvin Reid and Roy Reid and sisters, Beulah Kragewski and Ruth Reid.
Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. on Saturday from Cedar Shoals Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. R. E. Kelley, Rev. Frank Dooley and Mr. Pete Vinson officiating.
The body is at Cox Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

WARE SHOALS Alice Head Watt, 77, of 25 N. Greenwood Ave., widow of J.R. Watt, died Sept. 6, 2001, at Providence Hospital Northeast, Columbia.
born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Beulah Lucas Head. She retired from Grendel Mills and was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Robbie W. Smith of Ware Shoals; a sister, Vernell Durham of Anderson; two half sisters, Belle Simmons of Anderson and Shirley Rogers of Tennessee; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Dr. Floyd Parker and the Rev. Wayne Wicker.
Pallbearers are George Rush, Grant Duffield, Cecil Boggs, Shannon Calvert, Chris Smith and Ed Arnold.

GREENVILLE - Joseph Randolph "Randy" Wood, Jr., 48, of 103 Kearns Ave., died Wednesday, September 5, 2001 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
born in Oakland County, California, he was the son of Joseph "Joe" Randolph, Sr. and Bobbie Monroe Wood. He was a member of Overbrook Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he is also survived by a sister, Becky Rogers Nash; one niece, Bridgette Nash; two nephews, Jay Rogers and Brian Nash; and one great-nephew, Jordan Nash.

ABBEVILLE Irene Hannah Cochran, 82, of 19 Highway 20, wife of Samuel Ellis Cochran, died Sept. 4, 2001, at her home.
A daughter of the late William and Nancy Nickles Hannah, she was a homemaker, a former Girl Scout leader and a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church. She was a member of The Chrysanthemum Garden Club, was active in beautification projects through the club and was an accredited flower show judge.
Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Nancy C. Zimmerman of Chester, Va., Betty C. Grantham of Pickens, Hannah C. Vincent of Gaffney and Ellisa C. Pottmeyer of Seneca; a sister, Evelyn Botts of Abbeville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. Howard Whitehurst. The body will be placed in the church at 10. Burial is in Long Cane cemetery.
Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the church fellowship hall.

born in Alexander County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Reuben Baxter and Rebecca Catherine Warren Adams. She was a graduate of Hiddenite High School, Hiddenite, N.C., and a member of Hiddenite Baptist Church. She was also active with McCormick First Baptist Church since moving to McCormick in 1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Bernell Gilbert of McCormick and Mary Addie Bryan of Carrollton, Ga.; two sons, Clifford Ted Jolly of Kannapolis, N.C., and John P. Jolly Jr. of Wilkesboro, N.C.; two sisters, Magdeline A. Jost of Roanoke, Ind., and Dorothy Earnhardt of Denver, N.C.; a half sister, Ophelia Shank of Liberty, N.C.; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 Friday at Hiddenite Baptist Church by the Revs. Jason Guyer, James Hester and James Gilbert. Burial is in Hiddenite cemetery.

ABBEVILLE Coy Henry Argo, 93, of 100 Langley St., widower of Ida Cox Argo, died Sept. 3, 2001, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
born in Royston, Ga., he was a son of the late Thomas D. and Mary Vannah Fowler Argo. He retired from Abbeville Mills with 50 years of service and was an Army Air Corps World War II veteran. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a brother, William Argo of Abbeville; and a sister, Nancy Garrett of Abbeville.
Services will be conducted at 2 Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home by the Rev. Darin Hook. Burial is in Melrose cemetery.

, first the late William Newton McClain.
Survivors include four sons, Jimmy McClain and Charlie McClain, both of Ware Shoals, Marshall McClain of York and Dale McClain of Belton; five daughters, Katheryn Brock of Craytonville, Mary Wallick of Jackson, Marie Nelson of Powdersville and Joyce McClain and Gale Dixon, both of the home; four sisters, Myrtle Ashley of Greenville, Sybil Sharpe of Due West, Lucia Brock of Greenwood and Ruby Hurt of Anderson; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
