Daisy Clark
ABBEVILLE - Daisy Brickle Clark, 91 of 554 Noble Drive, widow of Eugene F. 'Butch' Clark, died Sunday, September 2, 2001 at her home.
born in Elberton, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late George A. and Earle Bell Brickle. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church and was a retired Hotel Manager.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Sue Cape of Abbeville; one sister, Betty B. Dunn of Iva; one brother, William H. Brickle of Iva; three grandchildren, Paul Cape, Eugene Cape and Anne C. Ashley, all of Abbeville; seven great-grand-children and four step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers George A. Brickle and John E. Brickle and sister, Mary B. Arnold.
Funeral services will be 4 P.M. Tuesday at New Hope Presbyterian Church with Rev. George Busch officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The body is at Harris Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2-3:30 P.M. Tuesday.
The family is at the home on Noble Drive and at the home of her son, Eddie Cape, 433 Hwy. 28 South.

Georgette B. Foster
GREENWOOD — Georgette B. Foster, 56, of 301-A W. Creswell Ave., wife of Charles Foster, died Sept. 3, 2001, at her home.
born in McCormick, she was a daughter of Inez Lane Johnson and the late Clifford Blackwell, and was reared by Lawrence Kellar and Hermine Jones. She retired from Monsanto and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; a son, Carlos Wayne Foster of Greenwood; a daughter, Tonya Nicole Foster of Spartanburg; five brothers, Marion Johnson, Paul Johnson, Bonnie Lee Johnson, David Samuel Johnson and James Vernon Johnson, all of Greenwood; six sisters, Hattie Lagroon, Jean Robinson, Phyllis Johnson and Della Louise Johnson, all of Greenwood, Carolyn Hughes of Augusta, Ga., and Thelma Denise Mathews of Florence; and a grandchild reared in the home, Kalyn Foster.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc., which is in charge.
Zelma Hudson
GREENWOOD — Zelma Sullivan Hudson, 78, of 311 Pitts Circle, widow of Robert W. Hudson, died Sept. 2, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Hugh T. and Lillie Irene Jackson Sullivan. She retired from Cooper Industries and was a member of Jordan Memorial Baptist Church and the TEL Sunday School Class of the church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Hudson of Surfside Beach and Chris Hudson of Greenwood; four brothers, William A. “Bill” Sullivan and Marvin C. Sullivan, both of Greenwood, Franklin Sullivan of Simpsonville and Bobby R. Sullivan of Laurens; three sisters, Mattie Nelson and Jennell Vaughn, both of Enoree and Helen Smith of Roebuck; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 3:30 Wednesday at Blyth Funeral Home by the Revs. Billy Huff and Mike Sullivan. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Tom Miller, Ron Bradford, Wayne “Buck” Walters, Tony Sullivan and Danny Lawton.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the TEL Sunday School Class of Jordan Memorial Baptist Church and Dr. Todd Gallman.

J. Ernest Young, retired educator
GREENWOOD — James Ernest Young, 90, a retired educator and businessman, died September 2, 2001, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
He and wife Ray Beaudrot Young, who survives him, lived at 135 East Cambridge Ave.
born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Thomas Pope and Jennie Harrall Young. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Clemson College in 1932.
He retired from Citzens Trust Co. and previously taught school in McCormick before becoming district superintendent.
One of his students at McCormick, the late Irma Arrington Dorn, once described Young as “not just a teacher, but a friend and father figure to all of his students.”
He was a captain in the Army and taught Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, Ga., during World War II.
Young was a member of the Greenwood Lions Club, the American Legion Post 20, and the Golden K Kiwanis Club. He was a deacon and lifelong member of First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and was a member of the Baraca Sunday School Class and the N.G.O. Club.
Other survivors include two daughters, Janice Young Jernigan and Jenella Y. Buzhardt, both of Greenwood; a son, J. Ernest Young, Jr., of Greenwood; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 11 Tuesday at First Baptist Church by the Revs. James Langford and William Harris. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 10 Tuesday.
Pallbearers are Keith Jernigan, Kenneth Abner, Jim Malone, Scott Smith, Brandon Jones, Stephen Traynelis, William Owen, and Arvie Bennett, Jr. Honorary escorts are members of the Baraca Sunday School Class.
Visitation is at Harley Funeral Home today from 7 until 9.

GREENWOOD — Miriam Daniel Corley, 59, of 1310 East Laurel Ave., wife of Jerry G. Corley, died Sept. 1, 2001, at her home.
born in Abbeville County, she was the daughter of Pauline Waters Daniel and the late Yates A. Daniel. She was formerly employed with Riegel Textiles in Ware Shoals and a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her mother of Hodges; a daughter, Kelly Morrow, and a son, Barry Morrow, both of Greenwood; and a sister, Jeanette Knight, of Greenwood; two brothers, Mackey Daniel and Danny Daniel, both of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 Tuesday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Robert Patton and Dr. J. William Harris. Burial will be in Greenwood Gardens.

MCCORMICK — Lillian Inez Carroll Gable, 60, of Highway 28, widow of Thomas H. Gable, died Sept. 2, 2001, at Abbeville County Hospital.
born in McCormick, she was a daughter of the late William Whaling and Nora Lee Ferqueron Carroll. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Catherine Turner, of the home; a son, Avery Green, of Aiken; a sister, Janie Barton, of Waterloo; two brothers, James Carroll and Whaling Carroll, both of McCormick; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Richard McWhite. Burial will be in Troy cemetery.

HONEA PATH — Brian Lee Freeman, 24, of 3016 Due West Highway, died Aug. 31, 2001, in Cross, S.C. born in Anderson County, he was a son of Danny Leon Freeman and Patsy Louise Dutton Freeman. He was an electrician and a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents of the home; one brother, Danny Freeman of the home; one sister, Sonya Freeman of Lake Secession and a grandmother, Mary Dutton of Ware Shoals.
Services are at 2 Monday at Bethany Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Carroll Plemmons. Burial is in the Garden of Memories in Belton. The body will be placed in the church at 1.

Marion Moore
MANNING — Marion “Manny” Moore, 84, of 123 Sunset Drive, husband of Louise Renfro Nichols Moore, died Sept. 1, 2001, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
born in Rock Hill, he was a son of the late Francis Heyward Moore and the late Ida Huey Moore. He was an oil marketer, having established Moore Oil Company. He was a graduate of Presbyterian College and a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity, a WWII fighter pilot and a former Rotarian and a member of the Mullet Club. He was president of S.C. Oil Jobber’s Association and a member and former deacon of The Presbyterian Church at Manning.
Survivors include his wife of Manning; two sons, Dr. John Marion Moore and Joseph Heyward Moore, both of Manning; a daughter, Verna Louise Pinnix of Ramseur, N.C., a brother, Joe P. Moore of Manning and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 Tuesday at Stephens Funeral Home, conducted by Dr. William J. Holmes. Burial is in the Manning cemetery.
Pallbearers are grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Mullet Club.
