BLUE RIDGE, Ga. — Roger Dale Mull, 57, of John’s Ridge Road, Blue Ridge, husband of Mary Kate Falls Mull, died Aug. 30, 2001.
born in Gilmer County, he was a son of the late Dan Mull and Eva Mae McVey Mull. He was retired from Schlumberger, Inc., where he worked as a manufacturing representative and was owner and manufacturer’s representative for Magnum Products SE. He was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church and Blue Ridge Lodge No. 67 F&AM.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Kathy Mull of Blue Ridge and Gina Mull of Greenville; a brother, Don Mull of Blue Ridge and a sister, Marcia Haight of Canton, Ga.
Services are at 3 today at Sugar Creek Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Danny Queen. Burial with Masonic rites will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tom Mitchell, Jerry Pinson, Jess Fasold, Phillip Kemp, Marvin Maycaux, Wesley Huffman, Ted Weaver and Tommy Lackey.

GREENWOOD — Edna Smith Thrailkill, 81, of 345 W. Creswell Ave., widow of Fred M. Thrailkill Sr., died Aug. 31, 2001 at Self Memorial Hospital.
born in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late Asbury Smith and Mamie Holmes Smith. She was a graduate of Johnston High School and Droughn’s Business School in Columbia. She was a member of South Main Street Baptist Church, the Reapers Sunday school class and a member and treasurer of the Clifford Barrett Circle.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Reynolds Leopard and Susan T. Welch, both of Greenwood; two sons, Fred M. Thrailkill Jr. of Spartanburg and J. Stan Thrailkill of Greenwood; a brother, William C. Smith of Columbia; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are at 3:30 today at Blyth Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dave Patterson. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

WATERBURY, Conn. — Ernest Abrams, 84, died Aug. 27, 2001.
born in Columbia, S.C., he was a son of the late Seymour and Margie Watts Abrams. He was a member of St. Luke Holiness Church, Greenwood, S.C.
Survivors include a daughter, Margie Abrams of Waterbury; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 1 Sunday at St. Luke Holiness Church, Greenwood, by the Rev. Roosevelt Williams. The body will be placed in the church at 12:30. Burial is in Mount Moriah Baptist Church cemetery, Greenwood.

GREENWOOD — Irwin Lloyd McGrath, 87, of 101 Brissie Ave., husband of Odell McManus McGrath, died Aug. 31, 2001, at his home.
born in McCormick County, he was a son of the late John Michael and Bennie Elizabeth Porter McGrath. He was a World War II Army veteran, and he retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Greenwood Office. He was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church and the Men’s Bible Class of the church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; and a sister, Martha M. Thompson of Laurens.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4 Sunday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Tommy Cartledge and the Rev. Joseph Ouzts.
Visitation is graveside after the service.

born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Willie Ryans Sr. and Essie Senior Ryans. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, Edgefield.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bennie A. Harrison of Hephzibah, Ga., and Derrick A. Harrison of Greenwood; a daughter, Carolyn Glover of Roanoke, Va.; three brothers, Willie Ryans of Asheville, N.C., Larry Ryans of Greenwood and Thomas Ryans of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Letha Day of Oxen Hill, Md.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Annie O. Gray
ABBEVILLE — Annie O. Gray, 68, of 862 Shady Grove Church Road, died Aug. 27, 2001, at her home.
born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Pinckney and Mary Frances Harper Gray. She was last employed at Calhoun Falls Plant and was a member of Shady Grove A.M.E. Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Society, the Pulpit Aide Society and Senior Choir. She was also a member of the Women’s Home Aide Society No. 81.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Sanders; two sons, Thomas “Cleveland” Pinckney and Horace Gray; a brother, Butler Gray and a sister, Lois Brown, all of Abbeville; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 Friday at Shady Grove A.M.E. Church by the Revs. Robert Johnson and Larry Merrill. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Cindy Polatty
GREENWOOD — Cynthia Jo “Cindy” Boggero Polatty, 50, of 346 Tranquil Road, wife of Ronnie J. Polatty, died Aug. 29, 2001, at her home.
born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of Nadell O. Boggero and the late Emily Beauford Boggero. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1968 and received a bachelor of science degree in business education from Lander College in 1974 and a master’s degree in education from Clemson University. She was employed by Ninety Six School District 52 as a teacher at Ninety Six High School. She was Teacher of the Year for Ninety Six High School and Teacher of the Year for District 52 for school year 1999-2000.
Mrs. Polatty was elected to the Greenwood County Council in 1995 and held the office until her death, continually serving as vice chairman since her election. A member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the Pair and Spares Sunday School Class and the Evangelism Committee and the 1987 president of the United Methodist Women. She was a Sunday School teacher for the college age class, which she helped to establish.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her father of Greenwood; twin daughters, Emily Parks Polatty of Charleston and Elizabeth Jo Polatty of the home; a son, Will Thomas Polatty of the home; and a brother, Barry N. Boggero of Greenwood.
Services will be conducted at 2 Friday at Blyth Funeral Home by the Revs. Ken Timmerman and Wayne Horne. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Waddy Babb, Howard Corley, Bubba Fennell, Homer Sears, Jimmy Burton, Dee Garner and Dink Beauford.

HODGES — William Ray Watts, 72, of 2815 Highway 25 N., husband of Betty Martin Watts, died Aug. 29, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Alvin C. and Leasy Womack Watts. He graduated from Greenwood High School and Converse College and retired from Professional Medical Products. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of Bascomb Lodge 363 A.F.M. and Harris Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Ann McAlister of Greenwood; a sister, Julia Duncan of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harley Funeral Home by the Rev. Frank Thomas and the Rev. Steve Watson. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

CALHOUN FALLS — Clarence Austin Bradberry, 75, of Route 1, Simpson Street Extension, widower of Mildred Irene Burriss Bradberry, died Aug. 28, 2001, at the V.A. Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Oscar T. and Bessie Horton Bradberry. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a Navy World War II veteran.
Survivors include a son, Charles E. Bradberry of Columbia; a daughter, Jane Metcalf of Newnan, Ga.; three brothers, Vernon Bradberry of North Augusta, Ansel Bradberry of Abbeville and E.H. “Buster” Bradberry of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Doris Murdock of Saylors Cross Roads and Clara Hicks of Anderson; and a granddaughter.

born in Brevard, N.C., he was a son of Fred C. Bryson Sr. and the late Ellen Moody Bryson. A graduate of Brevard High School, he received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology from Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, N.C. He was a manager of quality engineering at BSN Jobst Inc., Rutherford College, N.C. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the American Society for Quality.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his father of Brevard; a son, Phillip C. Bryson of Greenwood; a daughter, Lynn B. Krucke of Summerville; a brother, Tim Bryson of Brevard; and a granddaughter.
Services will be conducted at 2 Thursday at Blyth Funeral Home by Dr. J. William Harris.
