Helen Wells
NINETY SIX - Helen Wood Wells, 93, resident of 129 Saluda St., widow of Thomas N. Wells, Sr., died August 25, 2001 at Woodruff Health Care in Woodruff.
born in Greenwood County, May 7, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Lula Beale Wood. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, Ninety Six Plant. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Greenwood Mills Quarter Century Club.
Mrs. Wells was predeceased by a son, Thomas N. Wells, Jr. and was the last member of her immediate family.
Surviving are two daughters, Myra W. Hancock and her husband Rev. C. Eugene Hancock, of Ninety Six, and June W. Lowery and her husband Harold R. Lowery, of Anderson. A daughter-in-law, Janice O. Wells of Ninety Six, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Tuesday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with Rev. Thomas Cartledge and Rev. Charles Owens offi-ciating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
The family is at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Eugene Hancock, 129 Saluda St. in Ninety Six and will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 Tuesday afternoon.
Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 95 Saluda St., Ninety Six, SC 29666.
Blyth Funeral Home is in charge.

Paul S. Willis Sr.
McCORMICK — Paul Singleton Willis Sr., 83, of Route 1, Box 41, widower of Helen Lindley Willis, died Aug. 25, 2001, at his home. born in McCormick, he was a son of the late Charlie and Fannie Singleton Willis. He was the retired owner of the Orange Spot. He was also a former truck driver for Raymond Dunlap Logging Co., a farmer and a member of Republican United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia W. Kelly of McCormick; a brother, Dewey Willis of McCormick; two sisters, Julius W. Jennings of Augusta and Annie W. Lewis of Aiken; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Republican United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bruce Cooley and Dr. Samuel B. George III. Burial is in Overbrook cemetery. Pallbearers are Jerome Bowick, Wesley Lindley, Junior Gable, G.K. Lindley III, Gary Bentley and Jamie Lindley. Honorary pallbearers are G.K. Lindley, Claude Lindley, Leonard Lindley and Blease Edmunds. Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Strom Funeral Home. The family is at the home of his daughter, Patricia Kelly. Strom Funeral Home is in charge.

Sue Helen Durham
CALHOUN FALLS — Sue Helen Durham, 82, of 621 Darlington St., died Aug. 24, 2001 at Heardmont Nursing Home in Elberton, Ga.
A native and former 30-year resident of Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Julie Dyer Durham. She was a retired textile spinner and was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Wallace (Rosie) White of Calhoun Falls. Graveside services are at 3 today at Old Graceland cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Dalton and the Rev. Charles Perry.
Calhoun Falls Funeral Home is in charge.

J. Roston Hare
ABBEVILLE — James Roston Hare, 93, of 107 Elizabeth St., husband of Mary Boozer Hare, died Aug. 24, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late James Lee and Lucy Bedenbaugh Hare. He graduated from Batesburg-Leesville High School and Newberry College. He was superintendent of Pleasant Grove and Oneal schools. He and his wife owned and operated ANDCO Feed and Seed store in Abbeville. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Leesville and The Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a sister, Mrs. Grady (Mildred H.) Nichols of Saluda; and two brothers, Troy Lee Hare of Chester and Remo B. Hare of West Columbia.
Services are at 3:30 today at Harris Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. William Stone and the Rev. Robert B. Clemons III. Burial will be in Rosemont cemetery, Newberry.
Pallbearers are Tommy Hite Jr., Terry Hare, Troy Jennings, Claude Shealy, Fred Ballentine, Stanley Broome, Carey Bedenbaugh and Jimmy Justice. Honorary escort is Rayford Strawhorn.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, Leesville, S.C. Harris Funeral Home is in charge.

Robert David Holsonback
PASCAGOULA, Miss. — Robert David Holsonback died Aug. 24, 2001.
Services will be announced by Harley Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Mary Hudgens
GREENWOOD — Mary Cook Hudgens, 70, of 410 Morgan Ave., widow of Doyle Hudgens Jr., died Aug. 25, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Malcomb B. and Cora Gillespie. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Callison.
Survivors include three sons, Ted B. Hudgens of the home, Larry Hudgens of McCormick and Roy Hudgens of Greenwood; five grandchildren, one reared in the home, Christopher Lee McKinny; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery in Callison, conducted by the Rev. Jason Garner.
Pallbearers are Leonard Bowick, Marion Boone, Jimmy Kirby, Fred Smith, James Thompkins and Tony Ray Griffin.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of a son, Roy Hudgens, 591 North St.
Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, c/o Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 1808 Callison Hwy, Greenwood, S.C. 29646.

Joseph G. Lollis
GREENWOOD — Joseph George “Joe” Lollis, 79, of 49 Wisewood Apartments, died Aug. 25, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
A son of Mack and Elizabeth Lollis, he was a former employee of the maintenance shop of Greenwood County.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Vaughn Lollis of the home; a daughter, Tammy Lollis of Greenwood; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 Monday at Harley Funeral Home, with burial in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Shane Lollis, Scott Lollis, Bubba Garron, Malcolm Green, Gene Vaughn, Ezra Vaughn and Mark Vaughn.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home and at the home of Tammy Lollis, 506 Davis St.

William Philip Oakley
GREENWOOD — William Philip Oakley, 18, of 207 Freeway Road, died Aug. 24, 2001.
born in Terre Haute, Ind., he was a son of William T. Oakley and Cheryl Scott Bolt. He was employed with Plumb-Ready and attended Shade Tree Revival.
Surviving include his father of Indiana; his mother and stepfather, William Donald Bolt II, both of the home; a sister, Heather Harvley of Greenwood; three brothers, a twin, Brandon E. Oakley and Adam Bolt and Cody Bolt, all of Greenwood.
Visitation is from 7-9 Monday at Harley Funeral Home.
Services will be announced by Harley Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Mamie Truelove
WARE SHOALS — Mamie Louise Sailors Truelove, 96, of 53 Truelove Road, widow of Connie B. Truelove, died Aug. 24, 2001, at her home.
born in Banks County, Ga., she was a daughter of the late William Melvin and Mary Catherine Kirkpatrick Sailors. She was retired from Riegel Textile Corp. and was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include four sons, Hoyt R. Truelove of Donalds, Bobby Truelove of Altamont Springs, Fla., Jimmy Truelove of Waterloo and Billy Truelove of Navarre, Fla.; two daughters, Kathy Rieske of Santa Ana, Calif., and Doris Thompson of Ware Shoals; a sister, Ollie Mae Kerr of Donalds; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Parker-White Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Roy Suggs. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Robert McLean, Tracy Truelove, Mike Truelove, Robbie Coker and Bobby Jo Powell.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Parker-White Funeral Home.

Margaret Irene Weigel
NINETY SIX — Margaret Irene Weigel, 72, of 2415 Highway 246 South, wife of Clyde L. Weigel, died Friday, August 24, 2001 at her home.
born in West Halifax, VT; a daughter of the late Warren and Martha Griffin Dalrymple. She was retired from Fabriart and was a member of Grace Community Church. She was predeceased by sisters Mable Maynard of Brattleboro, VT, Ada LaRock and Barbara (Betty) Crosby, both of West Halifax, VT.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home is a daughter, Donna Lee Gilman of Exeter, NH; foster daughter, Elaine Judd of North Hyde Park, VT; stepchildren, Miriam Hillegas of Myrtle Beach, Julia Haynes of Groton, Conn. and Andrew Lee of Anderson; sister, Ruth Thomas of Brattleboro, VT; two brothers, Ralph (Joe) Dalrymple of Brattleboro, VT And Warren (Stub) Dalrymple of West Halifax, VT; mother-in-law, Florence Weigel of Oregon, OH; 2 brothers-in-law, Gerald Weigel of Curtis, OH and Don Weigel of Toledo, OH; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. John Walsh, Rod Shultz, and Tony Foster officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The body is at Harley Funeral Home where the family received friends Saturday night from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Grace Community Church Missions Project. The family is at the home.

Gracie Ayers
GREENWOOD — Gracie Price Ayers, 80, resident of 309 Dukes Street, wife of Philip B. Ayers, died August 23, 2001 at Self Memorial Hospital.
born in Greenwood County, May 2, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Alfred A. Sr. and Ethel Fowler Price. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and retired from Atlantic Coast Life Insurance Company.
A life long member of West Side Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Adult 1 Sunday School Class and was a former Sunday School teacher. She was also a former member of the Church choir. Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are two sons, David Ayers of Greenwood and Paul Ayers of Fernandina Beach, FL; two sisters, Mary B. Long and Betty A. Price, both of Greenwood; four brothers, Leonard E. Price and Harold M. Price, both of Greenwood, Rev. Alfred A. Price, Jr. and Robert L. Price, both of Columbia; four grandchildren, Paula Suzanne Richhart of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Angie Ayers and Shane Ayers, both of Greenwood and Ben Ayers of Corugne, Italy; two great-grandchildren, Kalie Day of Fernandinia Beach, FL and Brianna Richhart of Jacksonville Beach, FL.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 P.M. Saturday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hal Lane officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Shane Ayers, Don Long, Ritchie Long, Brian Richhart, L.O. ÒNigÓ Satterfield and Ken Campbell.
Honorary escort will be members of the Adult 1 and 2 Sunday School Classes of West Side Baptist Church along with Robert Arnett, Joe and Blanche Dixon, Charles and Becky Hughey, Betty Satterfield, Maxine Cockrell, Dena Campbell, Anne Ayers, Blackie and Pig Driggers and Gail Sartain.
The family is at the home on Dukes Street and will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 Saturday afternoon.
Memorials may be made to the Open Door Campaign of West Side Baptist Church, 215 By Pass 225 S., Greenwood, SC 29649. Blyth Funeral Home is in charge.
