Robert Allen Hamby
ABBEVILLE — Robert Allen Hamby, 62, of 265 Old Douglas Mill Road, husband of Faye Perry Hamby, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Jimmy and Wilma Wilson Brown. He was a truck mechanic at Greenwood Packing. He was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church and Masonic Lodge Clinton No. 3, where he was a past Worshipful Master.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Bobby Hamby of Abbeville; a brother, Bill Hamby of Greenwood; and two sisters, Rebecca Jane Brown and Jeannie B. Wells of Greenwood. Graveside services are 3 p.m. today at Long Cane cemetery with full Masonic rites.
Visitation is after the services at the cemetery.

Lafayette Logan
Lafayette Logan, 84, of 122 Sims Road, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 at the home of his sister.
born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Timothy and Pearl Sims Logan. He was a construction worker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a former Farmer’s Market vender through Clemson Extension.
Survivors include a son, David Logan of Temple Hills, Md.; a brother, Russell Logan of Greenwood; a sister, Alice A. Logan of Greenwood; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home of his sister, Alice Logan, 120 Sims Road.
Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc.
Lafayette Logan
Services for Lafayette Logan, of 122 Sims Road, are 12 noon Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church, Ninety Six, conducted by the Rev. Anthony Sims, assisted by the Rev. E.L. Cain, Ann Gary and the Rev. Bernard White. The body will be placed in the church at 11. Burial is in Mount Zion Baptist Church cemetery, Coronaca.
Pallbearers are Deacon Wilbert Harris, Deacon Robert Roman, Trustee Sammie Robinson, Trustee Leon Ebo, Jimmy Williams Sr. and Cori Gray.

Powell McCall
HODGES — Robert Powell McCall, 75, resident of 4317 Main St., husband of Nancy Henderson McCall, died December 25, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
born in Mullins, SC, November 28, 1929, he was a son of the late Daniel C. and Rachel Powell McCall. He was a US Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. Mr. McCall was a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he received his degree in Pharmacy. He was a retired pharmacist.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two daughters, Cindy McCall of Lompoc, CA and Beth Cronic of Greenwood. A brother, David McCall of Greenwood and a sister, Hilda Ellington of Wichita, KS. Three grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth Cronic and Amanda Grace Cronic, both of Greenwood and Lief Powell Perry of Lompoc, CA.
Cryptside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Oakbrook Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum with Chaplin Lee Burton officiating.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home in Greenwood.
The family is at the home and will receive friends in the Oakbrook Memorial Park Family Center from 2:00 to 3:00 Tuesday afternoon.

WARE SHOALS — Kenneth Paul Burton Jr., 67, of 16 Oak St., husband of Patricia Lancaster Burton, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at his home.
born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Kenneth Paul Burton and the late Mary Elizabeth Kidd Burton Thomason. He was a veteran, minister and educator.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Thomas Bradley Burton and Kenneth Paul Burton III, both of Greenwood; two daughters, Cheryl Burton Lucas of Clemson and Mary Burton Uldrick of Kinards; a sister, Patricia Ann Thomason of Greenwood; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services are at 2 Monday at Parker-White Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Aaron Hodges. Burial is in Pine Lawn Memory Gardens in Clinton.
Visitation is from 1-2 Monday at the funeral home.

Charlotte G. Manley
GREER — Charlotte Gee Manley, 48, of 1114 Apalache St., wife of John L. Manley, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Wallace A. Gee and the late Rachel Lee Radford Gee Young. She was owner and operator of Stay and Play Day Care, and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Wendy Kirby of Greer, Rachel Manley of the home, and Tabatha Shaw of Greer; a sister, Patsy Gee Mullen of Rutherfordton, N.C.; three grandchildren; a half-brother, Wallace Gee Jr., and three half-sisters, Kathy Winfield of Shelby, N.C., Dianne Hardin of Forest City and Kay Squires of Shelby.
Services are at 4 Sunday at The Wood Mortuary in Greer, conducted by the Rev. Michael Snellgrove. Burial is in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 2:30-4 Sunday at the mortuary.

WARE SHOALS — Lois Manley McCurry, 94, widow of Claude Marion McCurry, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at Hospice House in Anderson.
born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Olga Hancock Manley. She was retired from Riegel Textile Corp., and held the longest membership in Ware Shoals United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert F. McCurry of Holly Hill; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Joanne) Fowler of Anderson; a brother, James M. Manley of Ware Shoals; two sisters, Dora Boone of Greenwood and Mary Lou Beacham of Ninety Six; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Services are at 3 Sunday at Ware Shoals United Methodist Church, conducted by the Revs. Fred Treaster and Richard Lister. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are grandsons.
Honorary escorts are the Elizabeth Martin Sunday School Class members.
Visitation is from 2-3 Sunday at the church.

Martha Waltman
Martha Leeper Waltman, 79, resident of 318 Chinquapin Road, widow of George S. Waltman, died December 23, 2004 at her home.
born in Charlotte, NC, November 15, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Beulah Severs Leeper. She was a graduate of Paul Creek High School in Charlotte, NC and retired from the SC Family Court System as a court reporter.
A member of South Main Street Baptist Church and the Augusta Nickles Sunday School Class of the church, she was also a member and past president of the Greenwood Pilot Club and formerly served as Governor of the SC Chapter. Mrs. Waltman was an active volunteer of The Soup Kitchen.
Surviving are a daughter, Jan Williams and husband, Steve of Lancaster; a son, George S. Jr. and wife, Sandy Waltman of Edmond, OK; a brother, Charles F. Leeper of Charlotte, NC; Four grandchildren, Ben Waltman, Matt Williams, Rob Williams and Katy Williams.
Mrs. Waltman was predeceased by a son, James R. “Jim” Waltman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday at South Main Street Baptist Church with Rev. Richard McWhite officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Lin Westbrook, Brian Westbrook, Donnie Goforth, Curtis Shaw, Foy Wall and Travis Britt.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 10 AM Monday.
