Harold Crawford Hall Sr., 84, husband of Anne Ard Hall, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at his home.
Born in Lowndes, he was a son of the late Waymon Hall and Maude Daniels Hall. He was an honorary deacon of Pinewood Baptist Church, where he served as a teacher of the Forever Young Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Santee Baptist Association, Pinewood Lions Club and the American Legion Post No. 15. He was retired owner and operator of Hall Cabinet Co. and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors besides his wife of Pinewood include three sons, Harold C. “Sonny” Hall Jr. of Sumter, Louis W. Hall and Richard W. Hall, both of Pinewood; a daughter, Barbara Ann H. Carlisle of Pinewood; a brother, Ralph Hall of Augusta, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pinewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Bennie Barwick and the Rev. Sim Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Pinewood Cemetery.
Steve Browder, Lance Browder, Billy Carlisle, Kirk Carlisle, Luke Hall, Matthew Hall, Adam Hall, Waymon Hall and Waring Richardson will serve as pallbearers.
Members of the Forever Young Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home, 685 S. Hampton St., Pinewood.

ATKINS — James Andrew “Jimmy” Harker Jr., 77, husband of Clarissa Stansell “Chris” Harker, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Born in Atkins, he was a son of the late James Andrew Harker Sr. and Kathryne Blakley Harker. He was a 1949 graduate of Presbyterian College and was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi. He was a member of Lynchburg Presbyterian Church, serving as elder and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the American Legion Post 140 and served on the Lee County Forestry Board. He was a former board member of Lee County FHA, Lee County EMS and the board of trustees at Hudgens Academy with tenures as chairman and treasurer. He was a past member of the Lynchburg Lions Club, having served as president, secretary and treasurer. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in Italy, and having seen combat while serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a retired farmer and merchant and had recently retired as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors besides his wife of Atkins include two sons, Jim Harker and his wife, Helen, of Florence and Stan Harker and his wife, Janet, of Atkins; two daughters, Gay Araujo and her husband, Ken, of Florence and Lucy Paulson and her husband, Bruce, of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Allison Araujo Pierce, Michael Araujo, Jennifer Harker, Andrew Harker, Kelly Araujo and Cole Paulson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryne H. Geddings. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lynchburg Presbyterian Cemetery.

SUMMERTON — Fannie Conyers Williams, 71, widow of Moses Williams, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Born Aug. 3, 1931, in the Spring Hill section of Summerton, she was a daughter of the late Robert Conyers Sr. and Easter Gibson Conyers.

Milford “Mickey” Gibson, 80, widower of Lillie Gue Gibson, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Dorn Veteran Administration Hospital in Columbia.
Born in Coeburn, Va., he was the son of the late Pannell Gibson and the Myrtle Smith Gibson. He was a retired security guard with Security Management and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Gibson of Frederick, Md., Brenda Prescott of Sumter and Denise Gibson of Lancaster; a twin brother, Joe Gibson of Norton, Va.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Hudson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

He was a retired farmer and service station manager and a member of Midway Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Mae Gibbons Reardon of New Zion; two sons, Loyd Jonathan Reardon and James Phillip Reardon, both of Kingstree; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Reardon of Kingstree; a sister, Alma Nell Welch of Goose Creek; two brothers, William Boyd Reardon of Lockhart and George Carroll Reardon of Walterboro; and nieces and nephews.

Mattie Brunson Coleman, widow of James Coleman, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at Mariner East Health Care Facility in Sumter.
Born Dec. 26, 1910, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Phillip Brunson and Matilda Brunson Bryant. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully.
Survivors include a daughter, Gwen Coleman; a grandson, Kevin Coleman; and a great-granddaughter, K’naya Chandler.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Burial was in Walker Cemetery. The family received friends at 10 N. Purdy St. and at the home of her daughter, 1255 Furman Drive.

Charles Spencer “Spink” Dickey, 78, husband of Mary Lou Goodman Dickey, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born June 13, 1924, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Shafter and Annie Mae Lowery Dickey. In his youth, he joined Asbury United Methodist Church in Lynchburg, where he served until his illness. He was a member of the United Methodist Men, the Senior Choir, and trustee board. As a licensed barber, he owned and operated barbershops in the Sumter and St. John Communities for a number of years. He retired from Santee Print Works of Sumter.
Survivors besides his wife include a foster son, Terence McKnight of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, John Henry Dickey of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Edith McFadden and her husband, George, of Baltimore, Md., and Elease McKnight of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren, Michelle Chanise Dickey of Washington, D.C., and Michael Terence Dickey of Sumter; a daughter-in-law, Azilee B. Dickey of Sumter; two aunts, Eva McFadden of Timmonsville, and Mary Durant of Lynchburg; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dickey. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. James R. Cannion, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. George Cousar.
The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

BISHOPVILLE — Beulah Hannan, wife of Samuel Hannah, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She was a daughter of Annie Bell Smith and the late Harmon Smith. She attended the public schools of Lee County. She later moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., where she attended Kingsborough Community College in the field of Healthcare. She was attending American Come Back to God Institute, where she received a number of graduate certificates. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church of Deliverance, where she served in the Deacon, choir, helps, and teaching ministries. She worked for more than twenty years at Brooklyn United Methodist Church Home.
Survivors besides her husband and mother include five sons, Marvin, Jermane, Eric, Anthony, and Detwan; a daughter, Stephanie of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Holland officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark Cemetery. Square Deal Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MANNING — Johnny Moses Pearson, 37, husband of Barbara Pearson, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, in Manning.
Born Dec. 23, 1964, in Clarendon County, he was a son of Rosa Pearson Dow. He attended the public schools of Clarendon County and was employed at West Manning Auto Repair for the past five years.
Survivors besides his wife and mother include a son, Terrance Junious of Manning; a daughter, Satarrie Pearson, of Manning; a brother, Alphonso Pearson and his wife, Kem, of Manning; four sisters, Annie Mae Pearson of Davis Station, Francina Pearson, and Willie Ceil Parson and her husband, Morris, both of Manning, and Jeanette Dow Robinson and her companion, Lindell Wright, of Summerton.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Pearson.
