Born in Clarendon County, he was a son Dewight D. Wilson and Beth Brown Copenhaver and stepson of Barbara Wilson. He was a ATM Technician with Loomis Fargo.
Survivors besides his parents and stepmother of Olanta include two brothers, Jeffery L. Wilson and L. Ray Wilson both of Olanta; a maternal grandmother, Tiney Brown of Turbeville; and a paternal grandfather, Dewight C. Wilson of Olanta.
Graveside funeral services will be held 3 p.m. today in the Olanta Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

BRONX, N.Y. — Craig Nelson Brooks, 33, husband of Latcashar Brooks, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Jacobi Medical Center, Bronx, N.Y.
Born Sept. 25, 1968 in Williamsburg County, he was a son of Vera M. Brooks and the late Lois Tumer. Educated in the public schools of Bronx, N.Y., he was a carpenter.
Survivors beside his wife and mother include two daughters, Kacsha Brooks and Tuevonna Polk both of Bronx N.Y.; four sons Promyst Brooks and Rahjim Mack, both of Bronx N.Y., Taylor Butler of Birmingham, Al. and Courtney McDuffie of Brooklyn N.Y.; three sisters, Valeria Brooks of Sumter, Lawanda Turner and Fameka Tuner, both of Brooklyn N.Y.; three brothers, Johnny Brooks and wife, Demeria, of Fayetteville N.C., Reginald Brooks-Schofield and wife, Stefanie of Sumter; and Leon Brooks of Raleigh N.C. The family is receiving friends at the home of his mother, Vera Brooks, 997 Huddersfield Road, Sumter.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Matthew Hill Holiness Church in Hemingway.
Burial will follow at the St. Mark cemetery.

FLORENCE — Ware Gailliard Martin, 54, husband of Jan Rhame Martin, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at his residence.
Born Jan. 9, 1948, a son of the late Edward Chandler and Lila Hammond Martin.
He graduated from Thomasville High School, and the University of Georgia.
He received a Masters Degree in Library Science from Emory University and was employed as a reference librarian at the Florence County Library.
He was active for 20 years as a lieutenant in Col. David Fanning’s Loyalist Militia, a Revolutionary War re-enactment regiment.
Survivors besides his wife include two daughters, Elizabeth Hammond Martin and Maria Rhame Martin both of the home; a sister Walta Warren of Paris, Va.; parents-in-law Dr. and Mrs. John Murr Rhame Warmoth of Sumter; three sisters-in-law, Marion Rhame and husband John Ewer, Zoe Rhame Warmoth and husband, Frank, and Beth Rhame Nettles and husband, Chris, and nieces and nephews Francis James Warmoth Jr., Anna Warmoth Carbone, Christopher Tyson Nettles, Richard Hampton Nettles and Lila Hammond Warren.

Sean Randall Smith, 24, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, in Sumter.
Born Oct. 14, 1978, in Sumter, he was a son of Randolph Smith and Bernice Jackson Smith. He attended the public schools of Sumter County.
He was employed with his father in the family’s business.
Survivors besides the parents include three sisters, Sheryl D. Smith, Shasstiny S. Smith and Sharvella R. Smith, all of Sumter and two grandmothers, Lizzie Jackson and Fannie Mae Smith, both of Sumter.
The remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Monday.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the New Fellowship Baptist Church, 105 South Purdy Street, with the Rev. L.W. Walker Sr. officiating.
The funeral procession will leave at 1:30 p.m. from the home, 15 Frazier St.

MANNING — Harriett Edith Brewer, 62, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, in St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Charleston.
Born Aug. 6, 1940, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Millard Garrell Brewer and the late Harriett Rebecca Bagnal Brewer. She was retired secretary of Walker Tire Company and was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Barney Lee Brewer Morris of Turbeville, Becky Brewer Bradham and her husband, Johnny, of Mt. Pleasant, Martha Herlong and her husband, Don, of Sumter; a brother, William “Bill” Brewer and his wife, Irene, of Manning; seven nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bethea Morris.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel in Manning. The Rev. Clyde Bagnal and the Rev. George Gain will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Manning.
Pallbearers will be Roger Flowers Jr., Robby Jordan, Michael Fleck, Mike Windham, Cag Brunson, Shannon Barwick, Kerry Brewer and Darrell Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Walker Tire Company.

MANNING — John Kirkpatrick Brogdon, 78, husband of Carolyn Wilder Brogdon, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 29, 1924, in Alcolu, he was a son of the late Sam John Brogdon and the late Lois Kirkpatrick Brogdon. He was a retired farmer, a World War II Air Force veteran, and a deacon, former usher and member of Manning First Baptist Church and the Crusaders Sunday School class.
Survivors besides his wife of Manning are a daughter, Jane Brogdon Best and her husband, the Rev. David Best, of Kernersville, N.C.; a sister, Rebecca Brogdon Davis of Jackson, Tenn.; a grandson, John David Best; and a granddaughter, Rachel Best.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in Manning First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Bridges and the Rev. David Best officiating. Burial will follow in Manning Cemetery.

Sadie T. Bell, 75, wife of Ollie L. “O.L.” Bell, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Hammie Truesdale and Annie Newman Truesdale. She was a member of Bible Fellowship Church, where she was a charter member of the Howell Bible Class. She was retired from Pioneer Dress Company.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years of Sumter; a son, Michael Thad Bell and his wife, Jan, of Dalzell; a daughter, Sonja Dianne Plemons and her husband, Kyle Ray, of Manning; six grandchildren, Thad Bell, Rocky Bell, Jamie Plemons, Doug Vance, Robbie Vance and Katie Bell; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ila Mae Newman, Pearl Romero and Ruby Riggs; and four brothers, Jesse Truesdale, Hammie Truesdale Jr., Marion Truesdale and Bill Truesdale.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Whitehead and Bob Partin officiating.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Eva Wells Williams, 80, widow of Joseph Williams, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at Ditmas Health Care Center.
Born Oct. 8, 1922, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Wells and Melissa Fortune Wells. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and attended Congruity School.
Survivors include four brothers, Thomas Wells of Delaware, Henry Wells Sr. of Alcolu, Sam Wells of Lamar and Malachi Wells of Ulinda, Conn.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillie Mae Tomlin, Chestene Billie and Mammie Nelson.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday from the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter.
The Rev. William Jones Jr. will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Ernest Jackson. Burial will be in Wells Cemetery in Alcolu.

COLUMBUS, OHIO — Nancy Mae Smart-Willis died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Born and reared in Bishopville, she was a daughter of the late Eddie and Lourenza Smart. She attended the public schools of Lee County and graduated from Dennis High School. She received a bachelors degree from Morris College in Sumter.
She resided in Columbus, Ohio, where she was a member of Hosack Street Baptist Church. She was also a retired schoolteacher with Columbus public schools and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
Survivors include two sons, Calvin L. Willis and Thomas S. Willis Jr.; a daughter, Nancy L. Willis; 11 grandchildren, Lonnie Stuckey, Melissa Whitside, Tanisha Adams, Samuel Davidson, Camarra Camellia, Freda and Anastasia Melton and Reginald Adams, all of Maryland, Carla Smith of New York, and Eric Perkins of South Carolina; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Square Deal Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Mixon officiating. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery.

BISHOPVILLE — Mary Wilson Jenkins, wife of James Jenkins, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville.
Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Wiley Wilson and Ida Herrington Wilson. She was a faithful member of Grant Hill Baptist Church in Rembert and was a member of the missionary guild and the choir.
Survivors besides her husband include four sons, Wiley Jenkins and his wife, Mary, of Brooklyn, N.Y., James Lee Jenkins and his wife, Sheila, of Augusta, Ga., Thomas Jenkins and his wife, Lenora, of Bronx, N.Y., and Albert Jenkins and his wife, Judy, of Albany, N.Y.; four daughters, Lula Bradley and her husband, Charlie, of Bronx, N.Y., Janet Pinkney and her husband, Henry, of Greenville, Emma Magazine and her husband, James, of Paterson, N.J., and Julia Rhem and her husband, McDonald, of Bronx, N.Y.; a brother, Herbert Wilson of Dalzell; three stepbrothers, Albert Jenkins of Winter Park, Fla., James Henry Jenkins and James Arthur Jenkins, both of Sumter; a sister, Emma Harriett of Queens, N.Y.; three stepsisters, Juanita Jenkins of Winter Park, Fla., Thelma Vaughn of Dalzell and Alva Mae Martin of Sumter; 25 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ida Mae Jenkins; and three sisters, Ida Ruth Wilson Dow, Addie Wilson Mickens and Julia Wilson Mickle.
A wake service will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. The remains will be placed in Grant Hill Baptist Church in Rembert at 1 p.m. Tuesday, and funeral services will follow at 2 p.m.
Burial will be in Grant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

JOSEPH T. SELLERS
Joseph T. “Terry” Sellers, 46, of Augusta, Ga., died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at his residence.
A native of Ellijay, Ga., he was raised in Wrens, Ga., and lived in Augusta, Ga., for many years. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Georgia and South Carolina who had worked in various funeral homes in the CSRA for many years. He worked for the past 18 years at Elliott Sons Funeral Homes of Augusta. He was a member of the Academy of Graduate Embalmers of Georgia and the Georgia and South Carolina Funeral Directors Association. An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of Curtis Baptist Church and a former longtime member of Fleming Baptist Church, both in Augusta, Ga.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie Sellers, who passed away in 1981.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Penny Welch Sellers; a son, Blake; a daughter, Leslie Kate, all of Augusta, Ga.; his mother, Aline Sellers of Wrens, Ga.; his in-laws, Harold and Madge Welch of Augusta, Ga.; special friends William Brooks, Cyndi McGahee, Johnny Rowland, Steven and Kristy Brooks; and many other close friends and acquaintances.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday from Curtis Baptist Church, with Dr. Mark Harris officiating. Pallbearers will be Reuben Chance, Patricia Knight, Harold Sheppard, Kenneth Holley, Barry Cowart, Mark Rivers, Walker Lewis and Eston Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers will be former and current coworkers and any other Georgia and South Carolina funeral professionals. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
