FRANCES A. SISSON HOLBROOK
ORANGEBURG — Jimmie Frances Ann Sisson “Nana“ Holbrook, beloved wife of the late Howard Franklin Holbrook Sr., died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
She was a native of Little Rock, Ark., and a homemaker. She was a Roman Catholic.
Survivors include a son, H. Frank Holbrook Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Columbus, Ga.; three daughters, Skippy Clark of Raleigh, N.C., Cindy Hamilton and her husband, Paul, of Orangeburg, Beth H. Crow and her husband, Randy, of Elgin Air Force Base, Fla.; three sisters, Mary Alice Yaun of Augusta, Ga., Kathryn Cullather of Silver Springs, Md., and Doris Price of Augusta, Ga.; a brother, Robert Sisson of Augusta, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, Dr. Jodi S. Holbrook, Brandon H. Holbrook and his wife, Susann, Angela Schwan and Tracie Urness and her husband, Troy, Jeff Fountian and his wife, Alex, G.P. Koontz, James Koontz and his wife, Kathy, Michael Clark and his wife, Robin, Chris Paul Hamilton and his wife, April, and Melissa Hamilton and fiance Bailey Smith, and Brandy S. Crowe; 11 great-grandchildren, Avery and Hudson Holbrook, Ashton and Justin Urness, E.J. and Logan Schwan, Zayne and Braydon Fountian, Charlie and Heidi Koontz, and Savannah Clark. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Crowe.
Memorials may be made to the Blessed Sacrament School, 6316 N. 30th St., Omaha, Neb. 68111.
The family will receive friends form 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Elliott Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

RICHARD J. DELARUE
Richard John Delarue, 35, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at his home in Rockville, Md.
Born in Long Island, N.Y., he was a son of Jacqueline Fowler Knoblock and the late Richard Jay Delarue. He attended the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross at Stateburg and was a graphic designer and fine artist.
Survivors besides his mother include a stepfather, Bruce Knoblock of Sumter; maternal grandmother, Muriel Fowler, of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Robert Delarue of Denver and John Delarue of St. Louis; and two sisters, Jeannie Lewis of Loveland, Colo., and Carolyn Delarue of Denver.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross Cemetery in Stateburg with the Rev. Dick Archer officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home, 707 Sierra St.
Memorials may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross Historic Preservation Trust, C/O Amelia B. Harper, 2161 Gion St., Sumter, SC 29150-5904.
Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

SUSANNA R. McFADDEN
Susanna Redding McFadden, 87, widow of Jasper McFadden, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 16, 1916, in Clarendon County.
The family will receive friends at the home, 10 Corbett St.
Services will be announced by Sumter Funeral Service Inc.

THEOLA L. SINGLETON
Theola Lewis Singleton died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Asbury Lewis and Ardell Capers Lewis.
The family will receive friends at the home, 5095 Peach Orchard Road, Dalzell.
Services will be announced by James Funeral Home Inc.

Jeanette M. Ardis died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Sandra “Sandy” Ardis, 60, wife of Robert A. Ardis, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Services will be announced by Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home.

HENRY BOLDEN
Henry “Shorty” Bolden, 78, former husband of Venie Ellerbe Bolden, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 24, 1924, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Thomas Bolden and Carrie Matthew Sargent Bolden. He attended Sumter County public schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors besides his former wife of Rembert include four daughters, Loretta of New York, Carrie Bolden of Dalzell, Monica Bolden and Sandra Bolden, both of Sumter; a brother, Harrison Bolden of Rembert; two sisters, Epsie Fletcher of New York and Angeline Ballard of Sumter; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
Wake services will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Eddie C. Thomas officiating, assisted by the Rev. James E. Williams. Burial will be in Hopewell Baptist Churchyard Cemetery, Dalzell.
The funeral procession will leave at 1:45 p.m. from the home of his daughter, Carrie Bolden, 4795 Solstice Drive, Dalzell.
The family will receive friends at the home of Carrie Bolden.

FREDRICK R. HONEYWELL
SAN ANTONIO — Retired U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Fredrick Richard “Rick” Honeywell, 42, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002.
Rick grew up in Cranford, N.J., and joined the U.S. Air Force when he was 19 years old. He enjoyed the field of aircraft maintenance and was proud to serve his country. He was stationed in and deployed to many places around the world throughout his military career. His last battle was a personal one, with multiple myeloma, which he fought with the courage and determination that underlined his life. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
He leaves behind his wife, Christina, daughter Megan, age 7, and son Daniel, age 5. He is also survived by his mother, Loretta Honeywell of Cranford, N.J.; his father, Forest Honeywell of Littleton, Colo.; brothers Forest, Patrick and Steven Honeywell; and sisters Kathleen Honeywell and Michelle MacNamara.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Arlington National Cemetery. Friends and colleagues are welcome to attend.

LORI M. MATTSON
Lori Margaret Mattson, 45, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002.
She was a daughter of the late Col. and Mrs. Bill Mattson.
Survivors include a brother, Jeff Mattson of Greenville; and two sisters, Julie Mattson of Charleston and Georgene Assur of Fairfax, Va.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Lake Wateree near Liberty.

TOMMY H. NELSON
Tommy Harrison Nelson, 52, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at his home.
Born Nov. 11, 1950, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Joe Nelson Jr. and Serena Darby Nelson Harrison. He attended Howard High School in Georgetown, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Princess Anne of Maryland, and Morgan State Graduate School in Baltimore. He was a member of Dickerson AME Church in Georgetown. He was employed as a teacher and counselor.
Survivors include a daughter, LaTonya Nelson of Bronx, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Tianna Tomlinson of Bronx; three brothers, Richard Nelson of Georgetown, Dr. Robert Nelson of Macon, Ga., and Tony Nelson of Middletown, Conn.; eight sisters, Carolyn Nelson, Dorothy Prioleau and Willie Brightwell of Bronx, Jeanette Thompson of New Brittain, Conn., Sadie Williams and Hazel Campbell of Hartford, Conn., Doris Price of Windsor, Conn., and Lafaye Gilliard of Georgetown; an uncle, the Rev. Jerry Nelson of Georgetown; and a great-aunt, Katherine Coley of Georgetown.
The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. today at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dickerson AME Church. Burial will be in Morning Glory Cemetery.

OVIEANCE N. TAYLOR
Ovieance “Peaches” NyZhae Taylor, 2, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born June 7, 2000, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Lataya Sharie Taylor and Corey Atwan Walters.
Survivors besides her parents include a brother, Jimmy Kwan Epps of Georgia; two sisters, India Taylor and Felicia Taylor, both of Sumter; maternal grandparents, Larry and Frankey Mae Dinkins of Sumter and Joseph and Christina Toney of Elliott; paternal grandparents, Verleen Walters of Lynchburg and David Lee Henry of Georgetown; maternal great-grandparents, Rosa Lee Taylor and Eddie Taylor Jr. of Sumter and Naomie Toney of Lynchburg; paternal great-grandparents, Ellen Henry and Willie Henry Jr. of Lynchburg; two godmothers; and a number of aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Vip Toney.
A wake will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Job’s Mortuary Inc.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Wedgefield.
Burial will be in St. Peter AME Church Cemetery in Mayesville.
The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the home, 406 W. Oakland Ave.
Job’s Mortuary Inc. of Sumter is in charge of arrangements.

HOMER H. WARD
Homer H. Ward, 77, husband of Dianne Ward, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia.
Born in Asheville, N.C., he was a son of the late Ecton Ward and Anna Smith Ward. He retired from Campbell Soup Co.
Survivors besides his wife of Lexington include two sons, William Ward of Sumter and Homer L. Ward of Columbus, Ga.; a daughter, Barbara Ward Elkins of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, John Ward and Walter Ward, both of Asheville; a sister, Lena Teague of Asheville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Sumter Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.

MONROE WATTS
MANNING — Monroe Watts, 78, widower of Catherine Gray Watts, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at 1040 Lumley Ave., Sugar Hill community of Manning.
Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Prattville, Ala., he was a son of the late Moses Watts and Rosa Crenshaw Watts.
Services will be announced by Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.

KIA ARTRIP
Kia Artrip, widow of Noah Artrip, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at her home in Haliewa, Hawaii.
Services will be held at Sunset Beach in Haliewa at a later date.

WENDELL GREEN
Wendell Green, 50, husband of Henreitta Holmes Green, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at his home.
Born Nov. 12, 1952, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late David and Carrie Lee Gamble Green.
The family will receive friends at 1065 Cutleaf Drive.
Services will be announced by Palmer Memorial Chapel Inc. of Sumter.

BERTIE J. RHAMES
Bertie Jacobs Rhames, 57, wife of Clarence Rhames, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at the Medical University of South Carolina hospital.
Born Feb. 11, 1945, in Mayesville, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Wilhelmenia Benjamin Jacobs.
The family will receive friends at the home, 319 Wyoming Drive.
Services will be announced by Job’s Mortuary Inc. of Sumter.
