MARGARET A. MILLS
Margaret A. Mills, 81, widow of Henry Mills, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at a local nursing facility.
Born in Newport, R.I., she was a daughter of the late Anthony G. Silvia and Mary Dias Silvia.
She was retired from the Sumter County Library and a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, James Henry Mills of Chapin, Ronald Wesley Mills Sr. and his wife, Gail, and Patrick Wayne Mills and his wife, Deborah, both of Sumter; a brother, Fred Silvia of Newport; and seven grandchildren, Brian Mills of Irmo, Ashleigh Mills of Greenville, Ronnie Mills of Sumter, Robbie Mills of Conway, Christopher Mills of Gastonia, N.C., and Laura Mills and Elizabeth Mills, both of Sumter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Daniel Carboy C.Ss.R. officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with a rosary service at 7 p.m., and other times at the home of her son, 999 Shoreland Drive.
Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church Building Fund, 216 E. Liberty St., Sumter, SC 29150.
Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ANNA MARTIN
COWARD — Anna Martin, 62, widow of John Martin, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Samuel Gaymon and Madlean Hewitt Gaymon. She was a member of Coward Church of God and a member of God’s Girl Club of Pleasant Grove Church of God.
Survivors include a son, Buddy Martin and his wife, Ellen, of Johnsonville; four daughters, Lynn Miles and her husband, Jimmy, of Lake City, Kay Gunnels of Florence, Betty Hanniford and her husband, Lynn, of Sumter and Lisa Parsons and her husband, Dwayne, of Manning; two brothers, Sammie Gaymon of Pamplico and Jackie Gaymon of Scranton; three sisters, Carrie Nell Wilkes of Scranton, Willa Mae Springs of Lake City and Allie Wilkes of Florence; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Hattie Locklear; and a grandson, Jason Miles.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Coward Church of God. Burial will be in Hicks Hill Cemetery.
Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta is in charge of arrangements.

ST. MATTHEWS — A. Wayne Rickenbaker, 47, of 1434 Old Belleville Road, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home and at the home.
Services will be announced by Dukes-Harley Funeral.

SARAH H. COOPER
GABLE — Sarah Hudson Cooper, 95, widow of James J. Cooper, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Hopewell Health Center in Sumter.
Born Sept. 28, 1907, in the Mayesville section of Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Jenkins Hudson and Dora Fleming Cooper.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Jenkins and Deloris H. Cooper, 960 One Mile Road in Gable.
Services will be announced by Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.

HATTIE C. McFADDEN
MANNING — Hattie McCants Cooper McFadden, 94, widow of John Fleet Cooper and Paul McFadden, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
Born April 30, 1908, in the Gable section of Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Richard McCants and Elmer White McCants.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, James and Johnnie Mae Benbow, 111 Depot St. in Manning.
Services will be announced by Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.

THOMAS L. COOPER
BALTIMORE — Thomas Lee “Bay” Cooper, 47, of 6232 Laurelton Ave., companion of Denise Everett, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in Laplace, La.
Born February 30, 1955, in the Gable section of Sumter County, he was a son of Marshall Kennedy and the late Elouise Cooper Jackson and a stepson of the late Odell Jackson.
The family will receive friends at the family homestead of the late Odell and Elouise Jackson, 810 One Mile Road in Gable.
Services will be announced by Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.

ANNE M. TEAL
BISHOPVILLE — Anne Madsen Teal, 95, widow of Daniel W. Teal, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at her home.
Born in Charleston, she was a daughter of the late Neils Christopher Madsen and Mary Elizabeth Morgan Madsen. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bishopville. She was a former school teacher and retired from the U.S. Defense Department. She was a life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 5 and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 29.
Survivors include a stepson, Richard Lovell Teal of Greenville; a grandson, Donald Kreuzkamp of Columbus, Ga.; a granddaughter, Diane Swope of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Teal and Millie Teal; two step-great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Warren officiating. Burial will be in Piedmont Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Louis Baker, Don Melton, Hubert Morrow, Bob White, Toby Reynolds, Leon Arnold, Bobby Bramlett and Cliff Burress.
The family will receive friends at the home, 609 W. Church St. in Bishopville.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 229 W. Church St., Bishopville, SC 29010.

FLORENCE — Eddie Lou “Grace” McKenzie Floyd, 76, of 801 Lillian Drive, widow of Lonnie T. Floyd, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in a Florence hospital.
Born in Williamsburg County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. William Marvin and Pamela Prudence Floyd McKenzie. She was a member of Hillside Free Will Baptist Church and was a graduate of East Clarendon High School.
Survivors include a son, Kenny Floyd of Florence; four daughters, Frances Stone, Cheryl Floyd and Barbara Mixon, all of Florence, and Joyce Ridgeway and her husband, Frankie, of Sumter; two brothers, James C. McKenzie and his wife, Beatrice, of Sumter and Joe McKenzie and his wife, Ettalene, of New Zion; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Garris McKenzie, Harold McKenzie, Wesley McKenzie and Elroe McKenzie; and a grandson, Richard “Rick” Brian Ridgeway.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hillside Free Will Baptists Church. Entombment will be at Florence Memorials Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and at others times at the home of her daughter, Frances Stone, 2609 Willow Drive in Florence.
Memorials may be made to Hillside Free Will Baptist Church, 2405-A Purvis Drive in Florence.

RACHEL SCRIVEN
Rachel Scriven, 39, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Geraldine Anderson Scriven.
The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Joann Scriven, 27 Hospital Circle.

BISHOPVILLE — Leo Bradley, 48, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Charleston County Hospital.
He was born March 1, 1954, in Lee County.

Janie Helton, 100, widow of Lang Leroy Helton, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born April 5, 1902, in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Isaac Robinson and Minnie Spann Robinson.

LATRICE A. ISAAC
FLORENCE — Latrice Andrea Isaac, 20, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, in Darlington from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Born March 31, 1982, in Darlington, she was a daughter of Julius Henderson and Loretta Isaac.
The family will receive friends at the home of her mother, 1805 Beth Court, Florence.
Services will be announced by Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning.

JOYCE W. MILKIE
ORANGEBURG — Joyce Webb Milkie, 81, widow of Emil Wilhelm Milkie, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Houlton, Maine, she was a daughter of the late William Webb and Dorothy Winslow Webb. She was a member of Orangeburg Lutheran Church. She was a registered nurse and worked in New York City during World War II. She later moved to Orangeburg, where she was a newspaper reporter/columnist for the Times and Democrat for 35 years. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Timothy D. Milkie of Sumter; a stepson, Ronald Milkie of New York City; a brother, William Webb of Old Weathersfield, Conn.; a sister, Judy Webb; two grandchildren, Melody M. Floyd and Shannon M. Wilkinson, both of Sumter; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Orangeburg Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill, Conn.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

HENRY RUSSELL
Henry Russell, 92, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 17, 1910, in Winnsboro, he was a son of the late Orin Gaston Russell and Lucy Harrison Russell.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Cheryl Russell, 1244 Cherryvale Drive.
Services will be announced by Palmer Memorial Chapel Inc. of Sumter.

MINNIE C. DAVIS
COLUMBIA — Minnie Lee Charles Davis, 54, wife of Walter “Eagle” Davis, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Providence Hospital.
Born Dec. 18, 1947, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Emma Howard Charles and the late Samuel Charles. She attended Sumter County public schools and was a 1966 graduate of Lincoln High School. In her youth, she joined Allen Chapel AME Church. After marriage, she joined Second Nazareth Baptist Church, Columbia. She was employed by the Department of Mental Health from 1974 until her retirement in 1990.
Survivors besides her husband and mother include a son, Terry J. Davis and his wife, Heather, of Chicago; a daughter, Lisa M. McCollough and her husband, Sherman, of Columbia; a brother, Horton Howard Charles of Sumter; a sister, Teresa McFadden and her husband, Derrell, of Sumter; four grandchildren; four aunts; three brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at Second Nazareth Baptist Church, Columbia. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park.
The closed casket will repose in the parlor of Job’s Mortuary from 2 to 7 p.m. today.
The family will receive friends at the home, 511 Alcott Drive, Apt. 25-E, Columbia.
Job’s Mortuary Inc. of Sumter is in charge of arrangements.
