ALMA NUNNALLY
MOUNT PLEASANT - Alma Davis Nunnally, 94, widow of James Glenn Nunnally, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at the Sandpiper Convalescent Center. Born in Birmingham, Ala., she was a daughter of the late John Edward Davis and the late Emma Louise Brown Davis. She was graduated from Winthrop College in 1927 and received a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina. She was a retired schoolteacher who taught at McLaurin Junior High and Alice Drive schools for 35 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Alma Louise "Sis" Nunnally of Isle of Palms; and a sister, Evelyn Seckinger of St. Matthews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Trinity United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Robert E. Stillwell officiating. Burial will follow in Sumter Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 1140 S. Guignard Drive, Sumter, SC 29150. Miriam Wright Cummings, 81, widow of William E. Cummings Sr., died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at her home. Born July 19, 1920, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Frank Wright and Inez McCain Wright. Survivors include two sons, William E. Cummings of Sumter and Wilbur J. Cummings of New York; a daughter, Beverly I. Cummings of New York; a sister, Elizabeth Deloris Williams of Aurora, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. TURBEVILLE - Charles Levi Addison, 89, widower of Brenda Hobbs Addison, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Rice Home in Columbia. Born in Castlewood, Va., he was a son of the late Everett Brown Addison and Artie Frances Johnson Addison. He was owner and operator of Addison Moving and Storage Co. He was a retired U.S. Air Force major with 23 years of service. He was a World War II veteran, served in Normandy and was also a Korean veteran. Survivors include two sons, Barry Lee Addison of St. Charles and Michael Kelly Addison of Prosperity; two daughters, Linda DuPre of Irmo and Carol Callahan of Augusta, Ga.; a brother, Kelly Addison of Virginia; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery with full military honors.
