Andrew Dewar, 75, husband of Mary Kelly Dewar, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center in Sumter. Born in Hamilton, Scotland, he was a son of the late David and Francis Cosgrove Dewar. He attended the Canadian Institute of Management and was a World War II veteran of the Royal Air Force. He moved from Scotland to Canada and then to the United States. He was well traveled. He attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church. LYNCHBURG — Anne Graham Oliver, 81, wife of 60 years to Dr. Benjamin Mondsie Oliver, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at her home. She was a daughter of the late Vibert Wigfall Graham and Anne Celeste Chandler Graham. She was a graduate of University High School in Columbia, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Providence Hospital in Columbia. She was the owner and operator of Lynchburg Drug Sundries for a number of years. Survivors besides her husband of Lynchburg include a son, Benjamin Mondsie Oliver III and his wife, Pam A. COLUMBIA — Annie Mae White Redfearn, 64, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 29, 1937, in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Elias and Lillie Bell Linton White. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and later attended New York City Community College. In her youth, she was a member of Clark United Methodist Church. Most recently she attended Clarendon Christianity Church of Brooklyn, N.Y. In October, she relocated to South Carolina. Prior to her retirement in 1999, she was employed as a dietician for the Coney Island Day Care for 30 years. Survivors include a son, Theodore White of Sumter; two daughters, Jacqueline Rush of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Sandra W. Jackson of Columbia; a sister, Mattie D. Fortune; two aunts, Gladys Givens of Sumter and Doreatha Martin of Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Born Nov. 25, 1922, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Oscar and Anne Johnson Yates. He attended Sumter County public schools. He was a member of St. Mark UME Church of Oswego. He was employed by Shaw Lumber Co. for a number of years. Lula Watkins Barkley, 77, widow of Peter Joseph Barkley Jr., died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Jurmie James Watkins Sr. and Elizabeth Mooneyhan Watkins. She was a member of Ashwood Church of the Nazarene, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, steward, board member, and was currently treasurer of the church.
Survivors include her stepmother, Mamie Lucille Watkins of Sumter; a son, Michael Joseph Barkley and his wife, Grace, of Ashwood; a daughter, Nancy Barkley Wilson and her husband, Carroll, of Sumter; a sister, Dale Avins and her husband, Ernest, of Sumter; five grandchildren, Joey Barkley, Billy Barkley, Kim Wiley and her husband, Carlton, and Michelle Wilson and Kelli Wilson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, J.J. Watkins Jr.; and three sisters, Bonnie McClard, Carolyn Watkins and Lois Watkins.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Ashwood Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. T.W. Mitchell, the Rev. James Copeland and the Rev. Robert “Bob” Morris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Richard Lee “Gregg” Bradley, 40, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, in Sumter.
Born June 16, 1961, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Turner Lee Bradley and Virginia Bradley Singletary. He attended Sumter County public schools. In his youth, he joined Mulberry Baptist Church, and later attended other churches. He was formally employed by various companies in the Sumter area.
Survivors include two sons, Terrance Omar Leysath and Nigel Nykell Leysath, both of Columbia; five brothers, Tommy Lee Bradley of Chadbourne, N.C., Lomand Bradley, Stanley Bradley, Levern Bradley and Thomas Bradley, all of Sumter; five sisters, Lillie Mae Bradley, Mary Alice McKnight, Cathy Diane Bracey, Sonya Denise Bradley and Vanga Bennett, all of Sumter; and his grandfather, Julius Green of Sumter.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jannie Ladson Green; and a nephew, Robert “Mosie” McKnight.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Mulberry Baptist Church with the Rev. O.S. Scott officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert E. Galloway and Elder Carnell Dukes. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

COLUMBIA — Heyward M. Coker Sr., 81, husband of Louise W. Coker, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Dorn Veterans Medical Center in Columbia.
Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late James Madison and Annie Leola Jane Coker Coker. He was an active member of Maple Street Southern Methodist Church, where he was an honorary lifetime member of the Board of Stewards. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II and a retired home builder and carpenter.
Survivors besides his wife include a son, Heyward M. Coker Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Columbia; three stepsons, Francis Watts and Ralph Watts, both of Turbeville, and Lavern Watts of Columbia; four stepdaughters, Vivian Thigpen of Lake City, Nancy Mangrum of Manning, Irene Hardy of Turbeville and Nell Harrington of Kingstree; two grandchildren, Lydia A. Coker and Angie M. Coker; stepgrandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther Huggins Coker; and two brothers, James Hue and Horace Elliott Coker.

Born Oct. 24, 1907, in Charleston County, she was a daughter of John Cornelius Passailaigue and Mamie Blanche Williams Passailaigue. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Charleston.
Survivors include two daughters, Blanche Ellen Darr Smith of Charleston and Ruby Jo Darr Hahn of Lakeland, Fla.; two sons-in-law, James P. Hahn of Florida and Richard P. Loveland of New Jersey; six grandchildren, Gwen S. McKee, Mary Jo S. Spence, William Darr Smith, the Rev. James P. Hahn Jr., Darrcy A. Loveland and Richard P. Loveland Jr.; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at The First Baptist Church of Charleston. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Sumter Cemetery.

SUMMERTON — Maggie Isaac Ragin, 86, widow of Charlie Ragin, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center in Sumter.
Born Aug. 6, 1915, in Rimini, she was a daughter of the late George and Luetina Nelson Ragin. She attended Clarendon County public schools. In her youth, she joined Liberty Hill AME Church in Summerton, where she served as a member of the Stewardess Board, the Sunday school and the Willing Workers Club. She moved to New York and attended Emanuel AME Church, where she served in various capacities. Later in life, she returned to Summerton and rejoined Liberty Hill AME Church, where she began serving again in her previous capacities and also became a member of the Women’s Missionary Society. She served the church until her health failed. In 1995, she became a member of the 80 Plus Club; and in 1998, Historic Liberty Hill AME Church honored her as “Mother of the Year.”
Survivors include three sons, George W. Ragin and Rufus Ragin, both of Sumter, and James Ragin of New York City, N.Y.; two daughters, Rutha Holley of Sumter and Luetina Ragin of the home; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Charlie Jr., Isaac and David; and a grandson.
Wake services will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at Historic Liberty Hill AME Church in Summerton with the Rev. Malachi L. Duncan, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Revs. Rufus Gaymon, Henry Mitchell and L. Edythe DeLaine. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The casket will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Born April 12, 1945, in Sumter, he was a son of James Washington Sr. and Marian Louise Kine Washington. He attended Sumter County public schools. He was employed at A&P Recycle for more than 30 years.
Survivors besides his wife include a son, Tyrone Washington of Sumter; a daughter, Wylonda Washington of the home; a brother, Henry Washington Sr. of Bronx, N.Y.; a sister, Lelia Mae King of Buffalo, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, James, Joe, Melvin, Frank, Willie and George Washington.
