NEW ZION — Agnes Mouzon Duke, 73, widow of Bishop LeRoy Duke, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Williamsburg County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Colbert Mouzon and Edna Thomas Mouzon. She was retired from Dubin’s Department Store and Belk Department Store. She was a former treasurer of the Oakdale Community Center and a member of Midway Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher and as a member of the choir.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Faye D. Welch of Sumter and Marilyn D. Kennedy of Kingstree; a brother, Frazier Mouzon of New York; three sisters, Pauline Jasper of Kingstree, Meddie Crabbe of Summerville, and Nina West of Ridgeland; five grandchildren, Melissa Jackson, April Stanfield and Justin Welch, all of Sumter, Greg Kennedy and Michelle Shearer, both of New Zion; and four great-grandchildren, Sara and Emily Jackson, both of Sumter, and Cory and Josh Kennedy, both of New Zion.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Midway Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Rodney Foster officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MANNING — Oliver Covert Haley, 75, widower of Pauline Ridgeway Haley, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at the home of his son in Manning.
Born Aug. 23, 1926, in Manning, he was a son of the late Isaac Covert Haley and Ella Holladay Haley. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include a son, Glen Haley of Manning; a daughter, Joyce Haley of Manning; a sister, Loyrea Ridgeway of Manning; and a number of nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Julius Haley and Henry “Mosser” Haley; and three sisters, Cora Ridgeway, Thelma Baxley and Naomi Brewer.
Graveside services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday in Clarendon Memorial Gardens in Manning with the Rev. C.S. Salter officiating.

Born in Charleston, she was a daughter of the late John Marion Beasley and Mary Sue Lee Beasley.
She was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church.
Survivors besides her husband include two daughters, Sherri Brown and her husband, Jay, and Susan Ladouceur and her husband, Rick, all of Sumter; two brothers, Wayne Beasley of Mayesville and Ken Beasley of Sumter; a sister, Terry Dutcher of Sumter; two grandchildren, Mary Louise Brown and Katy Leigh Ladouceur of Sumter; and a number of nephews and nieces.

MANNING — Marguerite Ingram Myers, 88, widow of Laurence Henry Myers Sr., died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
Born July 27, 1913, in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Tracy Bell Ingram and Elise Tisdale Ingram. She was a charter member of Santee Baptist Church. She was former owner and operator of Myers Landing.
Survivors include four sons, L.H. Myers Jr., Ronnie Myers and his wife, Karen, Quinn Myers and his wife, Brenda, and Hugh Myers and his wife, Johnnie, all of Manning; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Jimmy Eldreth officiating. Burial will be in Clarendon Memorial Gardens.

MAYESVILLE — William Alexander “Billy” Riley, 74, husband of Mary Holland Riley, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Lee County, he was a son of the late William Melvin Riley and Mae Fields Riley. He was a former member of Mayesville Baptist Church and served as chairman of the deacons. He was presently attending Mayesville Presbyterian Church. He was retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve and was a World War II veteran. He also retired from Electrical Wholesale Inc.
Survivors besides his wife of Mayesville include two daughters, Mary Donna Blayney of Alamogordo, N.M., and Billie Jean Watts of Mayesville; a brother, H.L. “Shorty” Riley of Savannah, Ga.; two sisters, Anne Olivia Folk of Hanahan and Frances Rosa Mae Roberson of Remona, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Johnny Ray Watts Jr. and Tarrah Leigh Blayney.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Peak and the Rev. Sammy Ward officiating.

Clarence “Mac” McIntosh, 78, husband of Evelyn B. McIntosh, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
Born April 24, 1923, in Lee County, he was a son of the late Thomas W. McIntosh and Aline B. McIntosh. McIntosh was a self-employed welder and mechanic.
Survivors besides his wife include three sons, Michael McIntosh, Billy McIntosh and Jackie McIntosh, all of Sumter; two daughters, Linda M. McElveen of Sumter and Brenda M. Morris of Alcolu; two brothers, Robert McIntosh of Sumter and Earl McIntosh of Florida; two sisters, Linnie M. Waldon of Virginia and Bertha M. Bartlette of Sumter; a grandson, Seth McIntosh of the home; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Annie M. Bochette; and two brothers, Allen McIntosh and Harold McIntosh.

She was a native of Covington, La., and was retired from civil service with the U.S. Army after 25 years in the Panama Canal Zone. She was Protestant.
Survivors include a son, David Bishop of the Republic of Panama; three daughters, Sandy B. Ardis of Sumter, S.C., Bonnie Bishop of the Republic of Panama and Billie Greenwood of Baton Rouge; a brother, William Campbell of Mississippi; 11 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oaklawn Cemetery in Hattiesburg.

Born in Cheraw, she was a daughter of the late Ransey C. Johnson and Ola Edwards Johnson. She was a Baptist. She was a licensed practical nurse at Moncrief Army Hospital at Fort Jackson and was a member of the Professional Nurses Association.
Survivors besides her husband of Ridgeway include two sons, Brian Boykin of Columbia and Garrett Boykin of Daytona, Fla.; a brother, R.C. Johnson of Dovesville; and four sisters, Shelby Hall and Bonnie Dye, both of Hartsville, Gail Hapeshis of Kingstree and Melinda Gandy of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James H. Johnson.
