Jonathan Brown. Burial followed at the churchıs cemetery directed by Dimery and Rogers. Mrs. McCrea, 62, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at her residence in Nesmith. She was born September 27, 1938, in Florence County, a daughter of the late Anthony Williams and Eliza Hickson Williams. She was a member of Elijah United Methodist Church, where she served as a former member of the Usher Board. Survivors are: her husband, Onnie McCrea of Nesmith; two sons, Ernest McCrea of Ne-smith; and Joe Faison of Kingstree; three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Lee Williams of Timmonsville; Michelle Williams of Nesmith; and Mrs. Deatrice Thomas of Kingstree; one brother, Freddie Williams of Charlotte, NC; and five sisters, Mrs. Annie Lee Faison of Florence; Mrs. Mary Lee Killings, Mrs. Lula Mae Thomas, Mrs. Lizzie Mae Thomas and Mrs. Ella Mae Williams, all of Charlotte, NC.
ROBERT CHILDERS, JR. -- Funeral services for Robert Lee Childers, Jr. were held Sat., May 12, 2001 at St. John 4-B Baptist Church in Greeleyville. Burial followed at Keels Cemetery in Greeleyville directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Childers, 60, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at his residence in Greeleyville. Survivors are: four sons, Gerald Rogers, Rashad Mobley and Leandra Childers, all of St. Stephens; and Rashawn Mobley of Manning; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Newman of Greeleyville; and Shantay Childers of St. Stephens; one brother, Frank Childers of Greeleyville; and one sister, Mrs. Ada M. Wright of Greeleyville.
JOHN McGILL -- Funeral services for John McGill were held Saturday, March 10, 2001, at Sandridge Believers Holiness Church, conducted by the Elder Carl Williams. Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery directed by McClary's Funeral Home. Mr. McGill died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. He was born June 17, 1928, in Kingstree, a son of the late Frank and Addie McGill. He was a member of Sandridge Believers Holiness Church. Survivors are: one son, Willie Burrows of Florida; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Lee Ford and Mrs. Edna Brown, both of Kingstree; and Mrs. Evelyn Gamble of Philadelphia, PA; and one brother, Bishop Benjamin McGill of Philadelphia, PA.
BERTHA McELVEEN -- Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha McFadden McElveen were held March 15, 2001, at Redeemed Unity Holy Temple in Manning, conducted by the Rev. Ronnie McElveen and the Rev. Dr. Carolyn M. Moore. Burial followed at Springbank Cemetery in Kingstree directed by Redmond-Richardson. Mrs. McElveen, 72, died March 9, 2001, at Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. She was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Enoch and Jannie Mae Fulmore-McFadden. She was a member of Redeemed United Holy Temple. She was married to the late Isiah William McElveen. Survivors are: eight sons, David McElveen of Cades; Kelley McElveen, Ronald Mc-Elveen, the Rev. Ronnie Mc-Elveen and the Rev. Dannie McElveen, all of Kingstree; William McElveen of Sumter; Charles McElveen of Olanta; and Maj. Christopher McElveen of Ft. Irwin, CA; six daughters, Shirley McKnight of Lake City; the Rev. Dr. Carolyn Moore and Mrs. Sylvia Robinson, both of Columbia; Mrs. Judy Dozier of Kingstree; Karen McKnight of Pascagola, MS; Mrs. Teresa Sumpter of Greeleyville; three grandchildren she reared as her own, Mrs. Betty Mouzon of Rochester, NY; Petty Officer Purnell McElveen of Norfolk, VA; and Isiah Bradley of Salters; three sisters, Mrs. Clarice Kennedy of Gamble, SC; Mrs. Aliphine Williams of Olanta; and Mrs. Ozeda Wilson of Tampa, FL; and two brothers, Charles McFadden and Lewis McFadden, both of Lake City.
ALVAREZ ANDERSON -- Funeral services for Alvarez Lorenzo Anderson were held March 17, 2001, at Siloam Baptist Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Francis Burrows, the Rev. Hayes T. Gainey and Deacon Hubert Gary. Burial followed at Kingstree Cemetery directed by Redmond-Richardson. Mr. Anderson died March 12, 2001, at Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. He was born August 29, 1969, in Kingstree, a son of Mrs. Mamie Evans Anderson and the late William Milton Anderson, Jr. He graduated from Kingstree Senior High School and obtained a bachelor of arts degree in French education from Furman University in Greenville and a masters in educational administration from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, educational specialist in educational administration and did doctorate studies at Seton Hill University in Orange, NJ. He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church. He was employed as a French teacher at Butler High School in Augusta, GA, (1992 to 1993) and C.E. Murray School in Greeleyville (1992 to 1996). He later worked at the SC Center for teacher recruitment in Rock Hill (1996 to 1998) and at Fairfax Elementary (1998 to 2000) as a principal. He was the director of staff development and testing at Allendale County School District in Fairfax, SC from 2000 to 2001. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Kingstree, are: and three sisters, Mrs. Cornelia Octavia Wilmore of Great Falls, SC; Mrs. Adella P. Elmore of Orangeburg; and Mrs. LaVetra L. Sullivan of Hopkins, SC.
LANDIS G. FULTON -- Funeral services for baby boy Landis Gerard Fulton were held Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home Chapel in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Jerome Wilson. Burial followed at Kingstree Cemetery directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Baby boy Fulton died Friday, March 9, 2001, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. He was born Jan. 15, 2001, in Florence County, a son of Landis Fulton, Jr. and April Denise Johnson. Survivors, in addition to his parents of Kingstree, are: one sister, Kierra Renee Smith of the home; his maternal grandparents, Henry Johnson, Jr. and Dorothy Johnson of Kingstree; his paternal grandparents, Landis Fulton, Sr. and Hattie Fulton of Kingstree; his great-grandmothers, Mrs. Eliza Fulton of Kingstree; and Mrs. Maebell Patrick of Salters; and his great-grandfather, Roxie Crocker of St. Stephens.
SAMUEL MOORE -- Funeral services for Samuel Moore were held Sat., March 17, 2001, at St. James Baptist Church in Greeleyville, conducted by the Rev. Albert Rose. Burial followed at the church's cemetery directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Moore, 68, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at the Temple Lower Brucks Hospital in New Jersey. Survivors are: his wife, Cora Ellen Moore; and two children, Teressa Moore Griffin of Voorhees, NJ; and Lee Moore of Oklahoma City, OK.
OLA GOODWINE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ola Mae Goodwine were held Monday, March 19, 2001, at North Kingstree Baptist Church. Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery in Kingstree. Mrs. Goodwine, 70, died March 14, 2001. She was born October 9, 1930, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Reather McKnight and Clayton Brogdon. She was a member of North Kingstree Baptist Church. She was married first to James Burgess, Sr. and second to Robert Goodwine, Jr. Survivors are: four daughters, Doris Garrett of New Haven, CT; Vernessa Burgess Felix of Kingstree; Evangelist Willette Goodwine Wooden of Greensboro, NC; and Teresa Goodwine Barnwell of North Charleston; three sons, James Burgess, Jr., Alphonza Burgess and Robert Fitzgerald Goodwine, III, all of New Haven, CT; one sister, Leola Person of New Haven, CT; and six brothers, Billy McKnight, Henry McKnight of New Haven, CT; Harvey McKnight of Orlando, FL; Ernest McKnight, Bobby McKnight and Milton McKnight, all of New Haven, CT.
ISABELLA STAGGERS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Isabella Burgess Staggers were held March 18, 2001, at Macedonia Holiness Church. Burial followed at Poston Cemetery in Cades directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Staggers, 49, died March 15, 2001. She was a daughter of Carrie Belle Mouzon Burgess and the late Leroy Burgess, Jr. She was a member of the Body of Christ Ministries. She was employed by Lake City Scranton Convalescent Center. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Cades, are: four sons, Adrian Burgess of Newark, NJ; Gregory Staggers and William Keith Staggers, III, both of Cades; and Leroy Staggers of Myrtle Beach; three daughters, Terwanda Shalond Staggers, Shawanda Yoland Jones and Carrie Burgess, all of Cades; two brothers, Bernard Burgess and Leroy Burgess, Jr., both of Cades; and one who was like a sister, Racheal Ann Lesesne of Myrtle Beach.
EUGENE TISDALE -- Funeral services for Eugene "Sham" Tisdale were held Sat., March 17, 2001, at St. Michael United Methodist Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Charles Connor. Burial followed at the church cemetery directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Tisdale, 77, died March 12, 2001, at Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. He was born March 11, 1924, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Mrs. Louise Tisdale. He was employed with the SC Department of Transportation. He was a member of St. Michael United Methodist Church, the Voters League and the NAACP. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Ressie L. Tisdale of Kingstree; one son, Lamar Tisdale of Orangeburg; two daughters, Mrs. Veronica Cooper and Donna Jean Tisdale, both of Kingstree; and one sister, Mrs. Juanita Brown of Philadelphia, PA.
