Posted By: GenealogyBuff.com MARION YARBOROUGH -- Marion O. Yarborough, 63, died Wed., Nov. 21, 2001, at the Lake City Hospital. Funeral services were held Fri., Nov. 23, 2001, at the Lake City Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Brockington Funeral Home, followed at Lake City Memorial Park. Mr. Yarborough was born in Lake City, a son of Myrtle Kirby Yarborough and the late Raleigh O. Yarborough. He was the owner of Yarborough Auto Mart of Lake City and attended Lake City Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a Master Mason, Lake City Lodge #193 and retired from the South Carolina National Guard after 25 years. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Lake City, are: his wife, Meri Hancock Yarborough of Lake City; two daughters, Cindy Middleton of Florence; and Sherry West of Hartsville; one son, Marion O. Yarborough, Jr. of Charleston; and two sisters, Betty Timmons of Kingstree and Ann Evans of Rock Hill.
DAVID BROWN, JR. -- Funeral services for David "DJ" Brown, Jr., conducted by the Rev. Eddie Gamble, were held Fri., Nov. 23, 2001, at Central Missionary Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Salters Cemetery. Mr. Brown, 18, died Wed., Nov. 14, 2001, from injuries sustained in an accident in Riverdale, MD. He was born Feb. 22, 1983, in Cheverly, MD, a son of Lillie Frances McClorin Brown and the late David ³Ricky² Brown, Sr. He was a member of Refreshing Spring Church of God in Christ and was a senior at North Western High School, Hyattsville MD. Survivors, in addition to his mother, are: one brothr, Samuel A. Brown of Greenbelt, MD; three sisters, Mrs. Franshante Webster of Woodlawn MD, Ms. Davon Brown of Dundulk, MD, and Ms. Joanna Brown of Baltimore, MD; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Daisy B. Wilson of Salters, SC.
PEARL FULTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl McGill Fulton, conducted by the Rev. Willie Wilson, were held Mon., Nov. 26, 2001, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Green-lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Fulton, 82, died Wed., Nov. 21, 2001, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital. She was born June 3, 1919, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Eddie and Sallie James McGill. She graduated from Tomlinson High School and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She was married to the late James A. Fulton. Survivors are: three sons, Jenkins Fulton of Brooklyn, NY; Edward Fulton and John "Tucker" Fulton, both of Kingstree; four daughters, Mrs. Pearlie McMillan and Mrs. Carolyn Banks, both of Kingstree; Mrs. Ludie Brown of Effingham; and LaQuanna Fulton of Richmond, VA; and one sister, Mrs. Lillie Kinder of Kingstree.
CHARLOTTE McKNIGHT -- Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Mouzon McKnight, conducted by the Rev. Jerome Wilson, were held Sat., Nov. 24, 2001, at Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Crossroad Cemetery. Mrs. McKnight, 99, died Sun., Nov. 18, 2001, at Carolinas Hos-pital System-Florence. She was born Aug. 1, 1902, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Bruce Mouzon and Phyllis Fulton Mouzon. She was married to the late Luther McKnight. She was a member of Greater Bethel Church and was a member of the gospel choir, Missionary Society, Pastor's Aid Committee and a member of the Order of Eastern Star #265. Survivors are: one foster son, Randy Cooper of Kingstree; and one foster daughter, Mrs. Virgina Steele of Rochester, NY.
MARTHA MAJOR -- Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Coe Major were held Tues., Dec. 4, 2001, at St. James A.M.E. Church in Lane. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at the church cemetery. Mrs. Major, 94, died Wed., Nov. 28, 2001, at Clarendon County Memorial Hospital in Manning. She was born April 5, 1907, in Lane, a daughter of the late William Bill Coe and Daph Nelson Coe. She was the widow of the late Ceasar Major. Survivors are: three sons, Handsome Major, Sr., of Lane; Jimmy Lee Major of Troy, NY; and James Major of Albany, NY; and two daughters, Mrs. Ida Mae Johnson of Ft. Myers, FL; and Mrs. Ernestine Harrison of Troy, NY.
EMMA GILES -- Funeral service for Mrs. Emma Lee Giles were held Thurs., Nov. 29, 2001, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery. Ms. Giles died Wed., Oct. 3, 2001. She was born Oct. 19, 1948, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of Mrs. Lillie Mae Giles and the late Colen Giles, Sr. She was a graduate of Tomlinson High School. She was employed by I. Miller, Inc., as an administrative assistant. She was employed by DHEC/WIC for 19 years and also worked at Carolina Culinary Foods. She was a member of Francis Burns United Methodist Church in Columbia. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Kingstree, are: one daughter, Michelle Renee Gamble of Columbia; two sisters, Larona Giles of Bronx, NY; and Mrs. Oree Gamble of Salters; and two brothers, the Rev. Colen Giles, Jr., and Jack Giles of Bronx, NY.
LEBERTIS CROSKEY -- Funeral services for Lebertis Croskey, conducted by the Rev. Bonus Miller, were held Thurs., Nov. 29, 2001, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Greeleyville. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at the church cemetery. Mr. Croskey, 67, died Sat., Nov. 24, 2001, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in Hartsville. He was born July 19, 1934, in Salters, a son of the late Isiah Croskey, Jr., and Lillian Murray Croskey. He was employed by Electric Boat Company. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Salters, are: one daughters, Mrs. Sandra Freshwater of Fredricksburg, VA; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Houston of Salters; Mrs. Millie Dorsey of Altamonte Springs, FL; Mrs. Carolyn McClary Sessions and Patricia McClary of Salters; and two brothers, Thomas Croskey of Bronx, NY; and Isaiah Croskey, Jr., of Salters.
DANIEL POSTON -- Daniel Eugene Poston, 30, died Thurs., Nov. 29, 2001, in a Lake City hospital. Funeral services were held Sun., Dec. 2, 2001, at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Mr. Poston was born in Orange Co., CA. He attended Southside High School in Florence and was a former employee of Hatchell Irrigation Co. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Survivors are: his mother and step-father, Nancy Miles Powell and Jimmy D. Powell of Florence; and two brothers, Shane E. Poston of Jacksonville, FL; and Paul E. McPhillips of Wichita, KS; and very special friend, Angel Lynch of Johnsonville.
WILBUR COKER -- Wilbur L. Coker, 87, died Sun., Dec. 2, 2001, in a Kingstree hospital. Funeral services were held Tues., Dec. 4, 2001, in the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at McClary Cemetery. Mr. Coker was born in Williamsburg County, a son of Heyward and Eugina Burns Coker. He attended Williamsburg County schools and retired from Thomas Motor Company as a mechanic. He was a member of Beulah Methodist Church. Survivors are: four sons, Larry O. Coker and Norman L. Coker, both of Turbeville; Don C. Coker of Kingstree; and Watson L. Coker of Cades; and one daughter, Linnie O. Jenkins of Georgetown.
GENEVA GOODMAN -- Funeral services for Geneva Fullard Goodman, conducted by Bishop Odell Fulton, were held Sat., Dec. 15, 2001, at Sandridge Believers Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, took place at the Kingstree Cemetery. Mrs. Goodman, 93, the widow of Robert Goodman, died Mon., Dec. 10, at the Ron McNair Nursing Center in Lake City. She was born in Sumter County on Jan. 15, 1908, a daughter of the late Solomon Fullard, Sr., and Elvira Fullard. She was a member of Sandridge Believers Holiness Church. Survivors include: one son, Robert Goodman of Sumter; one daughter, Ms. Azalee Goodman of Queens Village, NY; two grandchildren that she reared as her own, Joann G. Boards and Barry Goodman, both of Kingstree; two brothers, Solomon Fullard, Jr., and James Fullard, both of Lynchburg; three sisters, Mrs. Classie Epps, Mrs. Liza Jane Epps and Ms. Mary Epps, all of Lynchburg; and two step-sisters, Mrs. Emma Jane Epps, of Lynchburg and Mrs. Annie Mae Evans of Baltimore, MD.
