Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed in the Kingstree Cemetery. Mrs. Kinder, 80, widow of William Kinder, died Wed., Dec. 12, at her residence. She was born April 1, 1921 in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Eddie and Sallie McGill. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Survivors include: three sons, Ernest Kinder of Kingstree, Eddie Lee Kinder and Terrance Williams, both of Norwalk, CT; four daughters, Mrs. Sallie Beachem of Union, Ms. Jannie Williams of Norwalk, CT, and Mrs. Barbara Giles and Ms. Eloise Kinder, both of Kingstree.
ANTOINETTE MAXWELL -- Funeral services for Antoinette Maxwell, conducted by the Rev. Jack Dais and Dr. Mary Scott, were held Sat., Dec. 15, 2001, at St. James A.M.E. Church in Lane. Miss Maxwell, 23, died Sun., Dec. 9, 2001, in San Antonio, TX. She was born Oct. 7, 1978, a daughter of Rosetta and James Maxwell, III. She graduated from Mirabeau R. Lamar High School in Arlington, TX, and was pursuing a career in respiratory therapy. Survivors, in addition to her parents of San Antonio, TX, are: two sons, Brandon T. Smith, Jr., and Devin M. Smith, both of Arlington, TX; three sisters, Alisha M. Maxwell, LaToya C. Maxwell and LaTasha R.M. Maxwell, all of San Antonio, TX; her grandmother, Mary McCutchen of Lane; her grandfather, James Maxwell, Jr., of Lane; and her great-grandfather, James Maxwell, Sr., of Lane.
CARRIE TISDALE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Tisdale, conducted by the Rev. Priest, were held Sat., Dec. 15, 2001, at Beulah A.M.E. Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed Mon., Dec. 17, 2001, at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington, NC. Mrs. Tisdale, widow of Joe Tisdale, Sr., died Tues., Dec. 11, 2001, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. She was born May 1, 1915, a daughter of the late John Tisdale and Daisy Holmes. She received her bachelor of science degree from Morris College in Sumter and furthered her studies at SC State College in Orangeburg. She taught school for 34 years and was also a former basketball coach for 24 years. She was a member of Beulah A.M.E. Church, where she held many offices. She was a member of Job Lodge #261 O.E.S.
SUSIE GREEN -- Funeral services for Mrs. Susie Mae Glasco Green, conducted by the Rev. Willie Bryant, were held Wed., Dec. 12, at Union Baptist Church in Salters. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Rockyford Cemetery in Salters. Mrs. Green, 85, widow of Willie Green, died Wed., Dec. 5, 2001, at Albert Einstein Hospital in Bronx, NY. She was born in Salters on July 10, 1916, a daughter of the late Soloman and Relia Glasco. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. Survivors are: three daughters, Mrs. Bernice Brown and Deacon Francine Starling, both of Queens Village, NY; and Mrs. Laura Green-Mitchell of Bronx, NY; three sons, Charles Green and Allen Green, both of Bronx, NY; and Joseph Green of Salters; and two brothers, Allen Glasco of Rochester, NY, and Deacon Moses McDonald of Salters.
VERNELL WESTON -- Funeral services for Vernell Elizabeth Weston were held Fri., Dec. 14, 2001, at Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at St. Luke Cemetery. Miss Weston, 40, died Sun., Dec. 9, 2001, at Carolinas Hospital System-Lake City. She was born in Hemingway on March 9, 1961, a daughter of Mrs. Sadie Dunmore Weston and the late Alfonso Weston, Sr. She was a member of The Church of Christ. She was employed by Tupperware Manufacturer, Eaddy Bean Factory and Atlantic Foods Manufacturer. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Johnsonville, are: three children, Martina Weston, Rodney Weston and Jordon Weston, all of Johnsonville; three brothers, Alfonso Weston, Jr. of Johnsonville; Nathaniel Weston and Willie Weston, both of Raleigh, NC; four sisters, Viola Parker of Johnsonville; Ethel Weston and Vickie Weston, both of Raleigh, NC; and Sadie Best of Angier, NC; and her maternal grandmother, Viola Greene Dunmore of Johnsonville.
LUELLA SHAW -- Funeral services for Mrs. Luella Shaw were held Fri., Dec. 14, 2002, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Shaw, 86, widow of Tommy Shaw, died Sat., Dec. 8, 2001, at Ron McNair Nursing Home in Lake City. She was born Sept. 10, 1915, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late John and Laura Gamble. She was a member of New Francis Brown United Methodist Church in Charleston. She was formerly employed in the Charleston County public school system. Survivors are: one adopted sister, Mrs. Caletha Rivers of Kingstree; and one foster daughter, Mrs. Emma Jean King of Charleston.
HERMAN EDWARDS -- Funeral services for Herman Edwards, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Herman Gibson, Jr., were held Thurs., Dec. 6, 2001 at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed in the churchyard cemetery. Mr. Edwards, age 44, died on Mon., Dec. 3, 2001, at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital. He was born on May 23, 1957, in Kingstree, a son of the late Howard Edwards, Sr., and Mrs. Eullia McCullough Edwards. Mr. Edwards received his formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He was field representative with the Social Security Office and was a member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors are: one brother, Howard Edwards, Jr., of Philadelphia, PA; five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Fleming of Kingstree, Mrs. Luttie Bell Swindle of Greensboro, NC, Mrs. Joeretta Nowlin of Cades, and Mrs. Lula Mae Green and Mrs. Azalee Zellars, both of Charleston.
KATHERLEEN ANDERSON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Katherleen "Kat" Singletary Anderson, conducted by Elder Linwood Cooper, were held Wed., Dec. 5, 2001, at St. Mark Believers Holiness Church in Lake City. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Anderson, 78, died Sat., Dec. 1, 2001, at the home of her daughter in Florence. She was born March 20, 1923, in Florence County, a daughter of the late Skip and Mary Singletary. She was a member of St. Mark Believers Holiness Church. She was married to the late Frank Anderson. Survivors are: one daughter, Mrs. Patricia S. Cooper of Florence; and one son, Edward Graham of Lake City.
RHODA CUDD -- Mrs. Rhoda Lane Cooper Cudd, 79, died Wed., Dec. 5, 2001, at the Springs Memorial Hospital. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Tony Adams, the Rev. Gene Ammons and the Rev. Brooks Walker, were held Fri., Dec. 7, 2001, at Lynnwood United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Cauthen Funeral Home, followed at Rich Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Cudd was born April 15, 1922, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late William Benjamin and Mary Olivia Wilson Cooper. A homemaker, Mrs. Cudd was a member of the Lynnwood United Methodist Church. Survivors are: one daughter, Mrs. Vivian Beckham of Heath Springs; one brother, Plowden Cooper of Lancaster; and three sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Cooper and Mrs. Mary Sue Byrdic, both of Lancaster; and Wilhelmina Cooper of Heath Springs.
JIMMY DICKERSON -- Funeral services for Jimmy Lee Dickerson were held Wed., Dec. 5, 2001, at Dimery and Rogers Chapel in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Gordon Cemetery in Lane. Mr. Dickerson, 55, died Fri., Nov. 30, 2001, in Tampa, FL. He was born Nov. 9, 1946, in Lane, a son of the late Edward Dickerson and Margaret Dickerson. He was a member of Lane Chapel A.M.E. Church. Survivors are: one son, Joseph Harrison of Tampa, FL; two step-daughters, Mary and Precilla, both of Tampa, FL; his step-mother, Essie Mae Dickerson of Lane; five brothers, Ronald Dickerson of Brockton, MA; James Edward Dickerson, Arthur Lee James, both of Tampa, FL; James Fulmore of Lane; and Douglas Fulmore of Clarksville, TN; two sisters, Queen D. Moses of Myrtle Beach; and Doris F. Witherspoon of Greeley-ville; and his foster mother, Mary Gordon of Lane.
