Posted By: GenealogyBuff.com HENRY BURROWS -- Henry Ernest Burrows, 53, died Mon., Dec. 24, 2001, in Moncks Corner. Graveside funeral services, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, were held Thurs., Dec. 27, 2001, at Kingstree Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. Mr. Burrows was born in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Belton and Mattie T. Burrows. He attended school in Kingstree and was a forklift operator at Andrews Wire. He attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving is one brother, James Arness Burrows of Kingstree.
LEO FEAGIN -- Leo Feagin, 80, died Tues., Jan. 8, 2002, in a Florence hospital. Funeral services were held Fri., Jan. 11, 2002, at Cades Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Brockington Funeral Home, followed at Lake City Memorial Park. Mr. Feagin was born in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Charlie and Eliza Bell Feagin. He retired from Williamsburg County Public Works. He attended Cades Pentecostal Holiness Church and was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Juanita Smith Feagin of Cades; one daughter, Marie Herndon of Charleston; five sons, Raydell Feagin and Dempsey Feagin, both of Lake City, Garry Feagin of Florence; Wade Feagin of Cades; and Barney Feagin of Kingstree; and one sister, Earlene Lawhon of Effingham.
FRANCES HAYES -- Frances P. Hayes, 38, died Sun., Jan. 13, 2002, at home. Funeral services were held Tues., Jan. 15, 2002, at Faith Presbyterian Church in Cheraw. Burial, directed by Kiser Funeral Home, followed at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. Born in Kingstree, she was the daughter of Frances N. Phillips and the late Jack Phillips. She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Cheraw. A graduate of Francis Marion University, she earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and biology and was a member of the Physics Society. She had received a class award from Dale Carnegie. She was a member of Cheraw After 5 Club. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Kingstree, are: her husband, Julian Ray Hayes of Cheraw; and one daughter, Julia Louise Hayes of Cheraw.
STERRICK WRIGHT, JR. -- Funeral services for Sterrick Wright, Jr., conducted by the Rev. Clyde Henryhand, were held Mon., Jan. 14, 2001, at St. John A.M.E. Church in Trio. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Barr Cemetery in Nesmith. Mr. Wright died Jan. 9, 2002, in Trio. He was born in Williamsburg County on Dec. 18, 1943, a son of Mrs. Queen Mitchum Wright and the late Sterrick Wright, Sr. He was a graduate of Blakely High School and attended college in New York City. He was formerly employed as a postal service worker in New York and with CSX railroad company in South Carolina. He was a member of Greater St. John A.M.E. Church. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Andrews, are: his children, Sterrick Erwin Wright, III, of Kingstree; Darrell Lamar Wright of Columbia; Darren Wright of Orangeburg; Sterrlene M. Wright of Florence; Sabrina M. Bettard of Washington; LaShandal Johnson of D.C; Sylvia C. Wright of Washington, D.C.; five brothers, Solomon Wright of Philadelphia, PA; James Wright of Bronx, NY; Mack Wright of Trio; Cleveland Wright of Andrews; and King Wright of Charleston; and five sisters, Evangelist Marva Cherry of Trio; Yerly Sherril of Charlotte, NC; Priscilla Williams of Andrews; Angel Froney of Charlotte, NC; and Queen Evans of Kingstree.
CAROLYN JACKSON -- Funeral services for Carolyn Jackson, conducted by the Rev. Tommy Shubrick, were held Tues., Jan. 15, 2002, at Good Hope Baptist Church in Greeleyville. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Hunter Cemetery in Greeleyville. Ms. Jackson, 47, died Thurs., Jan. 10, 2002, in Columbia. She was born in Williamsburg County on Sept. 12, 1954, a daughter of the late Walter Jackson and Ida Mae Childers Jackson. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and was employed by Days Inn in Columbia. Survivors are: three sons, Jonathan Jackson, Lamont Jackson and Jermaine Jackson, all of Columbia; and one brother, Walter Jackson, Jr., of Columbia.
DEBRACCA TISDALE -- Funeral services for Debracca Miltwanett Tisdale, conducted by the Rev. Jerome Wilson, were held Fri., Jan. 11, 2002, at Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery. Miss Tisdale, 16, died Wed., Jan. 9, 2002, at MUSC in Charleston. She was born in Manning on Jan. 4, 1986, a daughter of Milton Tisdale and Deborah Tisdale Tisdale. She was a student at Kingstree Senior High School. She was a member of Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church and was a member of the Y.P.D. and the Girl Scouts. Survivors, in addition to her parents, both of Greeleyville, are: one sister, Ra'Chel Miltaina Tisdale of Greeleyville; her maternal grandparents, Arthur Tisdale, Sr., and Mrs. Rachel Tisdale, both of Kingstree; and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Tisdale of Greeleyvill
LINDA THOMAS -- Funeral services for Linda Gail "Peas" Thomas, conducted by the Rev. Talbert Dickson, were held Wednesday, January 16, 2002, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard cemetery. Ms. Thomas, 47, died Friday, January 11, 2002, at her residence in Kingstree. She was born in Kingstree on July 2, 1954, a daughter of James Dukes and the late Mrs. Juanita Jones Thomas and step-daughter of Robert Thomas, Sr. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated from Saint Mark High School. For a number of years, she was employed as a domestic technician. Survivors, in addition to her father of Myrtle Beach, are: one son, James Lamar Thomas of the home; four brothers, Eddie "Tuck" Thomas of Bishopville; Mark Maxie Thomas, Stevie James "Bookman" Thomas and Robert Thomas, Jr., all of Myrtle Beach; and three sisters, Laura McClary and Mrs. Linda Dukes, both of Kingstree; and Mrs. Brenda Zaiter of Myrtle Beach.
MARION WOODS -- Funeral services for Marion Louis Woods, conducted by the Rev. Donnie McBride, were held Thursday, January 3, 2002, at Greater Lane Chapel A.M.E. Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at McKnight Cemetery. Mr. Woods, 83, died Sun., Dec. 30, 2001, at Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. He was born in Williamsburg County on October 12, 1918, a son of the late Sam Woods and Hattie Woods. He was a former employee of Atlantic Coast Line. He was a member of Greater Lane Chapel A.M.E. Church and served as church sexton, class leader, Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent. He was a member of Friendly Brothers Masonic Lodge #386 and the Tribe of Noah Lodge. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Florence Woods of Lane; two sons, Marion Marshall Woods and Samuel Leon Woods, both of Lane; and one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Salters of Spartanburg.
SARAH GREEN -- The Reverend Sarah Green, 84, died Friday, January 11, 2002, at the Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. Funeral services for the Reverend Green, conducted by the Reverend Robert Poinsette, were held Tuesday, January 15, 2002, at Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Kingstree Funeral Home, followed at McKnight Cemetery. The Reverend Green was born January 6, 1918, in Lane, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Wilson. She was a former assistant pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church in Lane. She was married to the late Cortez Green. Survivors are: two sisters, Eva Gibson of Kingstree; and Marcena Wilson of Greeleyville.
SAM MOUZON -- Sam Henry Mouzon, 73, died Sunday, December 30, 2001, in a Columbia hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 2, 2002, in the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Mouzon Cemetery. Mr. Mouzon was born in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Samuel Edward and Sallie Huggins Mouzon. He was a retired carpenter and was a member of the Carpenter and Millwright Union in Columbia from 1966 to 1989. Survivors are: one daughter, Patricia M. Brazell of Elgin; one son, Sam Edward Mouzon of Elgin; his former wife, Deloris Mouzon Gay of Elgin; and three brothers, Greer Mouzon and Siah Mouzon, both of Kingstree; and Dargan Mouzon of Sumter.
