GENE McCLARY -- Gene Wallace "Cheeta" McClary, 53, died Monday, May 6, 2002, at the Williamsburg Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 8, 2002, in the Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Brockington Funeral Home, followed at McClary Cemetery. Mr. McClary was born in Kingstree, a son of the late George Workman and Beulah Ridgeway McClary. He was a mechanic and of the Pentecostal holiness faith. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Joann Floyd McClary of Kingstree; one son, Christopher Wallace "Chris" McClary of Kingstree; four brothers, George L. McClary, Hubert McClary and Keith Freeland McClary, all of Kingstree; and Thomas Tillman of Lancaster; and two sisters, Ann Todd of Summerville; and Mary "Toni" Hanna of Johnsonville.

SAVIYON McFADDEN -- Saviyon Shamar McFadden, infant son of Nathaniel McFadden, Jr., and Amy McCutcheon, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, in the Lake City hospital. He was born January 21, 2002, at Carolinas Women's Center in Florence. Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, May 9, 2002, at High Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Survivors, in addition to his parents, are: his maternal grandparents, Mitchell and Sherri McCutcheon of Scranton; his paternal grandparents, Nathaniel and Sarah McFadden of Kingstree; and one brother, Elijah McCutcheon of Cades.

NAPOLEON COOPER -- Funeral services for Napoleon Cooper were held Saturday, May 11, 2002, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Cemetery. Mr. Cooper died Friday, May 3, 2002, in Florida.

MARTHA DAVIS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Dukes Davis were held Saturday, May 11, 2002, at St. John 4-B Baptist Church in Greeleyville. Burial was directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis, 84, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at Winyah Nursing Center in Georgetown. She was born in Williamsburg county on July 4, 1917, a daughter of Mrs. Carrie Brockington Dukes and the late Louis Dukes. She received her education in the Williamsburg County public school system. She was a member of St. John 4-B Baptist Church and served as a church usher. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Kingstree, are: one daughter, Mrs. Joan Davis Jordan of Brooklyn, New York; and one sister, Mrs. Elouise Smith of Kingstree.

ALEXUS EVANS -- Funeral services for Little Miss Alexus Ashley Evans were held Friday, May 10, 2002, at Jerusalem United Methodist Church in Salters. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at the church cemetery. Little Miss Evans died Friday, May 3, 2002, at MUSC in Charleston. She was born in Hartsville, a daughter of Charles Nathaniel Evans and Eva Macy Evans. She was a student at North Hartsville Elementary School in Hartsville. She was also a member of Macedonia Holiness church and sang with the Angel Choir. She was a member of the Girl Scout Troop. Survivors, in addition to her parents, both of Hartsville, are: two brothers, Charles Nathaniel Evans, Jr., and Jonathan Shelby Evans, both of Hartsville; one sister, Adrienne Sade Evans of Hartsville; and her grandmother, Mrs. Rosa Lee McCray of Salters.

THEODORE HARVIN, JR. -- Funeral services for Brother Theodore Harvin, Jr., conducted by Brother Billy McVey, were held Saturday, May 11, 2002, at Kingstree Church of Christ in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Jerusalem A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Salters. Mr. Harvin died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at his residence in Lane. He was born in Williams-burg County on Dec. 31, 1947, a son of the late Theodore John Harvin, Sr., and Merciner and Maxwell Harvin. He was a graduate of Williamsburg Blakely High School and attended Allen University in Columbia. He was the owner of Harvin's Grooming Salon in Andrews. Mr. Harvin was also a certified welder. He served in the US Armed Forces and fought in the Vietnam War. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Gladys M. Harvin of the home; four sons, Theodore M. Harvin, III, and Dwayne Harvin, both of Lane; Valencia Harvin and Kevin Harvin, both of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Rockell Harvin of Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers, David Delane Harvin of Salters; Harry D. Harvin and Shedrick Harvin, both of Lane; two sisters, Mrs. Hyratha Spriggs and Mrs. Geneva Stinnett, both of Baltimore, Maryland; and his father- and mother-in-law, Roland W. Cumbee and Mrs. Julittee A. Cumbee, both of Andrews.

JOSHUA CALVIN -- Funeral services for Master Joshua Dionte Calvin were held Thursday, May 8, 2002, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Ceme-tery in Kingstree, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Master Calvin was born and died May 5, 2002, at MUSC in Charleston. Survivors are: his parents, James Bay Calvin, Jr., and Mrs. Alvina Ladson Calvin of Moncks Corner; and his grandparents, Mrs. Mary Richardson of Hughee and James Calvin, Sr., of Kingstree.

ROBIN LEHMAN -- Robin Cornelia Brown Lehman, 41, wife of Stephen Lehman, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, in a George-town hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 9, at Low Country Community Church in Murrell's Inlet. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lehman was born in Jacksonville, Florida, a daughter of William Riley Brown and Cornelia Geddings Brown Bell. She graduated from the University of South Carolina and worked in fashion merchandising. She was a member of Low Country Community Church. Survivors, in addition to her parents of Kingstree, are: her husband, Stephen Lehman of Murrell's Inlet; her step-father, David S. Bell, Jr., of Kingstree; two brothers, Dean Brown of Kingstree; and Lonnie Brown of Portland, Oregon; and one sister, Belinda Bell of Kingstree.

RALPH DORRELL, JR. -- Ralph M. Dorrell, Jr., 66, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 11, 2002, at Williamsburg Funeral Home. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Mr. Dorrell was born in Florence, a son of Ralph M. and Elizabeth Grimsley Dorrell. He graduated from Kingstree High School and was a farmer and a farm equipment mechanic. He was a Baptist. Survivors are: his wife, JoAnn Dorrell of Kingstree; two daughters, Deborah Catoe of Kingstree; and Terri Bowen of Greer; one son, Rusty Dorrell of Kingstree; two sisters, Imogene Hagwood of Orangeburg; and Lizzie Dell McDonald of Kingstree; and three brothers, James Ollie Dorrell of West Columbia; William Roland Dorrell of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Archie Laverne Dorrell of Lexington.

MITCHELL CUNNINGHAM -- Funeral services for Mitchell Cunningham, conducted by Elder Joseph Woods and Elder Linwood Cooper, were held Friday, April 19, 2002, in the chapel of Pressley's Funeral Home. Burial followed at White Oak Cemetery. Mr. Cunningham died Saturday, April 13, 2002, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital. He was born October 27, 1965, in Long Island, New York, a son of Clarence Cunningham and Shirley Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham graduated from Kingstree Senior High School in 1983. Survivors, in addition to his parents of Kingstree, are: one brother, George Cunningham of Kingstree; a special friend, Mary Walls; and a cousin he considered his sister, Harriet York.
