Posted By: GenealogyBuff.com FRANK WILSON -- Captain Frank Milton Wilson, 73, died Fri., July 26, 2002, at Roper Hospital. Funeral services were held Mon., July 29, 2002, at the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Burial, directed by McKenzie Funeral Home, followed at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Wilson was born Nov. 29, 1928, in Williamsburg County, a son of John Wilson and Annie Elizbeth Elliotte Wilson. He was a retired tow boat captain. He was educated in the Williamsburg County School System. Survivors are: his wife, Mildred Wilson of Salters; two sons, John B.A. Wilson of Snellville, Georgia; and Gary Woods of Ocala, Florida; and three daughters, Sherry Britt of Georgetown; Myriah Carlisle of Morganton, North Carolina; and Frankie Hinds of Johnson.
ROSA COOPER -- Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Washington Cooper, conducted by the Rev. Franklin Garrett, were held Sat., July 27, 2002, at Bethesda United Methodist Church in Lake City. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Dr. James Cemetery. Mrs. Cooper, 108, died Tues., July 23, 2002, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital. She was born Aug. 17, 1893, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Ed Washington and Anna Washington. She was the widow of the late Hughie Cooper. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. Survivors are: one son, Sam Cooper of Kingstree; and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Brayboy of Kingstree; Mrs. Flossie McCutcheon of Rochester, New York; and Mrs. Sena Wilson of Washington, DC.
MARGARET EPPS -- Margaret Wilson Epps, widow of Lt. Colonel F.Q. Epps, Jr., died Mon., June 24, 2002, in a Florence hospital. Funeral services were held Fri., June 28, 2002, at the Kingstree United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Epps was born in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Charles Bernard Wilson and Ethel Rebecca Evans Wilson. She was a graduate of Lake City High School and Winthrop College, and was a retired teacher at Williamsburg Academy. Mrs. Epps was a member of the Wednesday Evening Bridge Club. She was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church and the Gary Hemingway Circle of the Church. Survivors are: two sons, Shawn Corey Epps of Lugoff; and Bernard Quinton Epps of Lexington; two daughters, Mary Ethel Eidson of Eagle, Idaho; and Margaret Frances Hart of Lugoff; and two sisters, Marian W. Coker of Kingstree; and Carolyn W. Anderson of Lake City.
OQUILLA THOMPSON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Oquilla Eaddy Thompson, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Brown, were held Sat., June 29, 2002, at Elijah United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Elijah United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Thompson, 93, died Tues., June 25, 2002. She was born March 25, 1909, in Lane, a daughter of the late Mrs. Victoria Evans. She was married to the late John Willie Thompson, Sr. She was a member of Elijah United Methodist Church and served as a Communion Steward and a church usher. Survivors are: one son, John Willie Thompson of Kingstree; and one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Cuttino of Kingstree.
BOOKERTEE COOPER -- Funeral services for Bookertee Wesley "B.W.: Cooper, conducted by the Rev. Nathaniel Evans, were held Thurs., June 27, 2002, at Faith United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Faith United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Cooper died Sun., June 23, 2002, at his residence in Kingstree. He was born in Kingstree on Dec. 26, 1929, a son of the late James G. Cooper and Lottie Barr Cooper. He received his education in Williamsburg County Public School System. He was formerly employed with Williamsburg County Transit Authority. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday school superintendent, a member of the United Methodist Men, former church trustee and on the church choir. He was also a member of Kingstree Masonic Lodge. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Emma F. Cooper of Kingstree; three daughters, Mrs. Tawanda Cooper Dixon of Greenville; Avis Cooper of Decatur, Georgia; and Stephanie Pembroke of Detroit, Michigan; two brothers, Rudolph V. Cooper of Landham, Maryland; and the Rev. Samuel B. Cooper of Kingstree; and eight sisters, Mrs. Mary McBride of Salters; Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson of Lake City; Mrs. Phyllis Cooper of Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. Victoria Goldsberry of Greeleyville; Mrs. Barbara J. Cooper of Kingstree; Mrs. Jimmetta Milligan of Hillside, New Jersey; Mrs. Geraldine Reynolds of Martinsville, Virginia; and Mrs. Eunice Richardson of Brooklyn, New York.
RUTH FULTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Wall Fulton, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Brown, were held Sun., June 30, 2002, at Elijah United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Elijah United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Fulton, 87, died Tues., June 25, 2002, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in Kingstree on July 5, 1914, a daughter of the late Lillias Barr Wall and Heyward M. Wall. She was the widow of Harvey Fulton, Sr. She was a member of Elijah United Methodist Church and served as a member of the United Methodist Women, a church steward and an active member of the Sunday school, bible study class and Wednesday night prayer class. She was a member of Willing Workers Order of the Eastern Star #319. Survivors are: one daughter, Mrs. Lillias Peterson of Kingstree; six sons, Heyward Fulton of Long Island, New York; Henry Fulton of Florence; George W. Speights, Harvey Fulton, Jr., James Wendy Fulton, Jackie Keith Fulton of Atlanta, Georgia; five sisters, Mrs. Rosa Speights of Kingstree; Mrs. Jernetter Riley of New Zion; Mrs. Mabel Murphy of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Mrs. Lillias Barr of Baltimore, Maryland; and Mrs. Nettie W. Fulton of Kingstree; and two foster daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Felder of Lane; and Mrs. Deloris Fowler of Kingstree.
ROSE CRAWFORD -- Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Lee Wright Crawford, conducted by the Rev. Henry K. Phillips, Sr., were held Sun., June 30, 2002, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Marion. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Devotional Gardens. Mrs. Crawford, 58, died Wed., June 26, 2002, in Marion. She was born Sept. 29, 1943, in Marion, a daughter of the late Roosevelt Wright, Sr. and Flossie Wall Wright. She received her formal education in the public schools of Marion County and graduated from Morris College in Sumter in 1964, with a bachelor degree in education. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was employed with the Dillon County School System. She was married to the late Rev. Jack Crawford. Survivors are: one son, Jason Brandon Crawford of Marion; four brothers, Billy Wright of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Frankie Wright of Columbia; Larry Wright of Arlington, Virginia; and Roger Wright of Portugal, Spain; and six sisters, Mrs. Doris Richardson, Mrs. Martha Jones, Betty J. Wright, Mrs. Linda Scott, all of Marion; Mrs. Cynthia Green of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Mrs. Patty McNatt of Florence.
MARY SAULS -- Mary Ann Whiting Sauls, 59, wife of John Earl Sauls, died Sat., June 29, 2002, in a Florence hospital. Funeral services were held Tues., July 2, 2002, at Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Second Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Sauls was born in Point of Pines, Massachusetts on Nov. 20, 1942, a daughter of George and Mabel Whiting. She was a graduate of Chandlerıs University in Massachusetts and was a retired data processor. She was a member of Kingstree Second Baptist Church. Survivor are: her husband of Kingstree; one daughter, Michelle M. Shaffer of Kingstree; one step-daughter, Patricia Sauls Brewer of Murrells Inlet; five step-sons, Kary Sauls of Murrells Inlet; Ryan Sauls of North Andover, Massachusetts; John Sauls, Jr., Clay Sauls and Wade Sauls, all of Havelhill, Massachusetts; and one sister, Gloria Hoisington of Bend, Oregon.
WILLIAM FRAZIER, SR. -- Funeral services for William Frazier, Sr., conducted by the Rev. Terry J. Barrett and the Rev. Dr. George A. McClenan, were held Sat., June 29, 2002, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Lake City. Burial, directed by Samuels and Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Frazier, 84, died Mon., June 24, 2002, at the Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. He was born March 5, 1918, in Charleston, a son of the late Leroy Frazier and Leah Frazier Johnson. He received his formal education in the public schools of Florence County. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. He worked for a number of years at Carter Manufacturing as a crate builder. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Lena M. Frazier of the home; three sons, William Frazier, Jr. of Paterson, New Jersey; Lernell Frazier of Hackensack, New Jersey; and Johnny Lee Frazier of Lake City; and one daughter, Elizabeth Frazier of Buffalo, New York.
DEBBIE GREEN -- Funeral services for Mrs. Debbie "Tay" Green, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Herman Gibson, were held Sat., Aug. 3, 2002, at New Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at New Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Green, 43, died July 28, 2002, at Tuomey Hospital. She was born April 5, 1959, in Kingstree, a daughter of Mrs. Mary Green and the late Nathaniel "Skeet" Green. She was employed by Baxter and later she was employed in the hotel industry as a housekeeper. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County and graduated from St. Mark High School. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Kingstree, are: her husband, Derrick Green of the home; two children, Master Zachray Green and Tameka Green, both of the home; two brothers, Michael Green of Salters; and Herman Green of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Patricia Green and Brenda Green, both of Kingstree; and her father-in-law, Ollie Tucker of Georgetown.
