Bernard McCray, were held Thurs., Nov. 7, 2002, at New Mt. Carmel A.M.E. Church in Hemingway. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at McKnight Cemetery. Mrs. Cooper, 84, died Fri., Nov. 1, 2002, at her residence. She was born May 16, 1918, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Oscar Brown, Sr., and Hester Frazier Brown. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was a member of New St. Mark Pentecost Evangelist Outreach Center, where she served as mother of the church, a deaconess, a kitchen committee member and sang in the senior choir. She was a member of the Beacon Lights Chapter No. 218, Order of the Eastern Star in Nesmith. She was married to the late Deacon Robert "Coop" Cooper, Sr. Survivors are: three daughters, Mrs. Geneva Graham of Leesburg, Florida; Juanita Cooper and Minister Ella Mae Cooper, both of the home; two sons, James Lee Cooper of Newark, New Jersey; and Robert Cooper, Jr., of East Orange, New Jersey; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Brown and Mrs. Nathaniel B. Scott, both of Hemingway; one half-sister, Mrs. Emma Lee Cooper of Lake City; one brother, Oscar Brown, Jr., of Manhattan, New York; three grandchildren, she reared in the home, Mrs. Denise Cooper-Baptiste of Austell, Georgia; Alicia ³Tiny² Cooper of Florence; and Fredrick Terrell Cooper of the home; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
THELMA MOORE -- Thelma Michau Moore, 82, died Mon., Nov. 4, 2002, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. David Thomas and the Rev. Judy Floyd, were held Wed., Nov. 6, 2002, at Twin Pine Church of God of Prophecy. Burial, directed by Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard. Mrs. Moore was born on Oct. 2, 1920, in the Suttonıs Community of Williamsburg, a daughter of the late Eddie Michau and Daisy Ward Michau. She was a founding member of Twin Pine Church of God of Prophecy where she was active in fund raising for the church. Mrs. Moore was the widow of George P. Moore. Survivors are: one son, Dale Moore of Andrews; three daughters, Linda Litchfield Powell of Andrews; Faye Moore of Macedonia; and Ruby Lee Thomas of Orangeburg; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
EUNICE HANNA -- Funeral services for Mrs. Eunice V. Myers Hanna were held Sat., Nov. 9, 2002, at Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home Chapel in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Cemetery. Mrs. Hanna, 58, died Fri., Nov. 1, 2002, at her residence in Charleston. She was the daughter of the late Julius Judge and Dorothy Hanna Judge. She attended the public schools of New Jersey City, New Jersey and graduated from Rice College with a degree in nursing. She was employed by White Oak Nursing Facility as a nurse. She was a member of St. Peter A.M.E. Church. Survivors are: one son, Micheal Myers of Charleston; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy M. Felder of North Charleston; Monique Gathers and Dominique Gathers, both of Charleston; two brothers, Harry Judge and Joe Judge, both of New Jersey; and five grandchildren.
VIBERT DUKE -- Vibert Curtis Duke, 79, died Wed., Nov. 6, 2002, at the Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Fri., Nov. 8, 2002, at the Piney Forest Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home, followed at Andrews Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Duke was born Aug. 4, 1923, in Williamsburg County, one son, of Thomas Cleveland Duke, Sr. and Evelyn Graham Duke. He was educated in the Williamsburg County School District. He was a retired maintenance worker and security guard of International Paper Company, Inc., Georgetown Mills, a member of IPıs Quarter Century Club, a retired Williamsburg County farmer, a member of the Piney Forest Baptist Church where he has served over the years as Deacon, Sunday school devotional leader and usher. Survivors are: his wife, Hazel Evans Duke of Andrews; one son, Curtis Keith Duke of Georgetown; one sister, Kathleen D. Honeycutt of Simponsville; and two grandsons.
ANNA McCLARY -- Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Bell Gibson McClary, conducted by the Rev. Bonus Miller, were held Sat., Nov. 9, 2002, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery. Mrs. McClary, 71, died Wed., Nov. 6, 2002, at her residence in Kingstree. She was a daughter of the late Johnny Gibson and Mattie Matthews Gibson. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was employed at Belks Department Store for many years. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served as Deaconess, member of Missionary Society. She was a member of the Williamsburg Chapter Order of the Eastern Star No. 341 and the Household of Ruth No. 22. Survivors are: her husband, Abraham ³Abe² McClary of the home; one son, Abraham McClary, Jr., of Florence; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara McClary of Augusta, Georgia; and three grandchildren.
DELORIS CANTEY -- Funeral services for Deloris Cantey, conducted by the Rev. Malachi Gibson, were held Sat., Nov. 9, 2002, at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Cowhead Cemetery. Ms. Cantey, 58, died Tues., Nov. 5, 2002, in Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. She was a daughter of Blease Cantey and the late Mrs. Marie York Cantey. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was employed by Williamsburg County Transit as a driver and was a former employee of Freedom National Bank of Brooklyn, New York. She was a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. Survivors, in addition to her father of Greeleyville, are: two daughters, Kwatika Cantey and Zakeya Cantey, both of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Charles Edward Cantey of Troy, New York; and four sisters, Mary E. Cantey and Shirley C. Robinson, both of Columbia; Christina B. Cantey of Tallahassee, Florida and Mrs. Debra Metze of Columbia.
LAWRENCE JUNE -- Funeral services Lawrence June, conducted by the Rev. Carl Shaw, were held Wed., Nov. 6, 2002, at Charity Baptist Church in Salters. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard cemetery. Mr. June, 57, died Thurs., Oct. 31, 2002, at Richland Memorial in Columbia, a son of the late Capers June and Phenie Gary June. He attended the public schools of Williamsburg County and Midlands Technical College in Columbia. He was employed by a cleaning service as a custodian. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Denoris June of Salters; three sons, Lawrence June, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina; Demond June of Waldorf, Delbert June of Salters; six daughters, Moletha June and Virginia June, both of Salters; Angela Culbertson of Lexington, North Carolina; Donna Franks of Andrews; Lorraine June of Columbia; and Valarie Reed of Charlotte, North Carolina; one brother, Lee June of Trio; and 12 grandchildren.
NATHANIEL GOODBREAD, JR. -- Funeral services for Nathaniel Goodbread, Jr., conducted by the Rev. Lee C. Bines, were held Tues., Nov. 12, 2002, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Goodbread, 56, a retired City of Lake City employee, died Wed., Nov. 6, 2002, at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. He was born March 28, 1946, in Palakta, Florida, a son of the late Nathaniel Goodbread, Sr. and Vernia Mae Baker Goodbread. He attended Hasting Memorial High School in Putman County, Florida. Survivors are: his companion, Mrs. Anna Pearl Miller of the home; three sons, Bernard Burgess and Jermaine Goodbread, both of Lake City; Gerald McKenzie of Jackson, North Carolina; three daughters, Elizabeth Roberts of Scranton; Mrs. Sandra Wilson of Olanta; and Denise Goodbread of Lake City; six sisters, Geneva Thomas of Brentwood, New York; Mrs. Margaret Meade of Goldsboro, North Carolina; Mary Beverly Goodbread of Babylon, New York; Sherry Moore of Lake City; Mrs. Queen Mobley and Mrs. Izol Vertus, both of Bellport, New York; two brothers, Curtis Goodbread of Wydanch, New York; and Calvin Goodbread of Wheatley Heights, New York; one step-daughter, Calandra Nesmith of Kingstree; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
NATHANIEL COOPER -- Funeral services for Nathaniel "Brother" Cooper were held Sat., Nov. 9, 2002, at Wilson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in the White Oak Community. Burial, directed by Pressley Funeral Home, followed at Faith United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Cooper died Sun., Oct. 27, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Lincoln and Rosa Kennedy Cooper. He attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. Survivors are: his step-mother, Mrs. Louisa D. Cooper of Kingstree; two daughters, Deloris Elaine Weston of Hopkins; and Patricia A. Holliday of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; four brothers, Arthur Cooper of Lake City; Lealon Cooper of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Roosevelt Cooper and Charles E. Cooper; one adopted brother, Jack Cooper; four step-sisters, Ella Whitfield of Salters; Estelle Gary of Kingstree; Pearl Miller of Andrews; and Phyllis Nelson of Clearwater, Florida; six step-brothers, Willie Daniels, A. J. Daniels of Salters; James Daniels of Columbia; Pete Daniels of Deer Park, New York; Elijah Daniels of Westburg, New York; and Freddie Daniels of Clearwater, Florida; 11 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
WILLIE GRAHAM -- Funeral services for Willie Graham were held Wed., Nov. 6, 2002, at Elijah United Methodist. Burial, directed by Pressley Funeral Home, followed at the church cemetery. Mr. Graham, 69, died Sat., Nov. 2, 2002, at the Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. He was born in Williamsburg County on Dec. 29, 1932, a son of the late Mose Graham and Rosa Fulton Graham. He was educated in the public school system of Williamsburg County and was a member of Elijah United Methodist Church. Survivors are: his sisters and brothers, Cherry Lee Padgett of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Nan-cy Pressley, Janie Mae Evans, Earline Cooper, Barbara Graham, Deloris McLeod and Dorothy Bull, all of Kingstree; Manetta Williams of Nesmith; Mary Lou Mathis of Miami, Florida; Rosa Keels of Greeleyville; Ernest Graham of Kingstree; John Dillon McKnight of Baltimore, Maryland; Trumond Graham, Roosevelt Graham, John Henry Graham and Perry Graham, all of Miami, Florida; and Charles Edward Graham of Tampa, Florida.
