Posted By: GenealogyBuff.com SWINTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Flossie Mae Beaufort Swinton were held Tuesday, December 16, 1997, at Charity Baptist Church in Andrews, conducted by Rev. Carl Shaw. Burial followed in the family plot of the churchyard cemetery directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Swinton, 65, died Wednesday, December 10, 1997, at the Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown. Survivors, in addition to her mother, Mrs. Retha W. Swinton of the home, are: her husband, Samuel Swinton, Jr. of Kings-tree, one son, Paul Swinton, Jr. of Socrates, S.C.; one brother, James Beaufort, Jr. of Salters; and two sisters, Mrs. Lillian McCrea of Salters; and Mrs. Joyce McCrea of Lane.
LESAINE -- Funeral services for Edward Lesaine were held Saturday, December 13, 1997, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Greeleyville, conducted by Rev. Bonus Miller. Burial followed in St. James Baptist Church in Greeleyville directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Lesaine, 95, died Monday, December 8, 1997, at Carolinas Hospital System-Kingstree. He was born March 2, 1902, in Greeleyville, a son of the late Isaac Lesaine and Mellie Lesaine. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served as a church deacon. He was a member of the Y.M.C.A and Mt. Hope Masonic Lodge #418. Survivors are: two sons, John Willie Lesaine of Greeleyville; and George Lesaine of Philadelphia, Pa.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Lee Washington of Greeleyville; Mrs. Sadie B. Montgomery of Foreston, S.C.; and Mrs. Virginia Dabbs of Newark, N.J.; one granddaughter he reared, Mrs. Caretha Dupree of Manning; and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Footman of Kingstree.
ALLEN -- Graveside services for Brenda Anna Allen were held Tuesday, December 16, 1997, at Allen Family Cemetery in Greeleyville directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Miss Allen, 32, died December 7, 1997, at White Oak Manor in Charleston. She was born March 23, 1965, in Fayetteville, N.C., a daughter of Grover Allen and Rosa A. Allen. Survivors, in addition to her parents, are: one sister, Arlene Coppa of Ravenna, Ohio; and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lucille Tilley of James Island, S.C.
GRAHAM -- Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Snowden Graham were held Wednesday, December 10, 1997, at Jerusalem United Methodist Church in Salters, conducted by Rev. Rufus Snowden. Burial followed in Jerusalem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Salters directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Graham, 85, died Thursday, December 4, 1997, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. She was born October 29, 1920, in Salters, a daughter of the late Wesley Ward and Abbie Snowden. She was a retired merchant and a member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church. Survivors are: one son, Raymond Singletary, Sr. of Washington, D.C.; one greatgrand, reared as her own, Charles Henry Ford IV of the home; and one brother, James Ward of Miami, Fla.
WILSON -- Funeral services for Janice Wilson were held on Wednesday, December 17, 1997, at Greater St. John A.M.E. Church in Trio, conducted by Rev. Melvin McClennon. Burial followed in the family plot of the St. Mary A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Salters directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Ms. Wilson, 32, died Saturday, December 13, 1997, in Salters after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born November 9, 1965, in Salters, a daughter of John Edward and Myrtle Cile Bennett Wilson. She was a member of Greater Saint John African Methodist Episcopal Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, leader of class no. 1, member of the YPD and choir. She was employed as a security guard supervisor with Advance Security. Survivors, in addition to her parents of Salters, are: two sons, David Edward Kinlaw and Quinton Ramon Wilson, both of the home; one daughter, Tyeshia Jaunita Wilson of the home; one brother, Edward Janell Wilson of Salters; four sisters, Mrs. Mamie Jean Major, Lashell Wilson, Lashern Wilson and Teresa Onita Wilson, all of Salters; and her paternal grandparents, James D. and Lerlene Bennett of Trio.
WILSON -- Funeral services for Shamar Devon Wilson, 11 months, of Kingstree, were held December 18, 1997, at the W.J. McKnight and Son Chapel, conducted by Rev. Wallace J. McKnight. Burial followed at Piney Grove Cemetery directed by McKnight-Fraser Funeral Home. Mr. Wilson died December 15, 1997, at MUSC in Charleston. He was the son of Chantae Snow and Marion Wilson. Survivors, in addition to his parents of Kingstree, are: two sisters, Jasmine Snow and Octavia Snow, both of Kingstree; one brother, Marion Wilson, Jr. of Charleston; his grandparents, Charlie Snow, Jr. of Andrews; Mrs. Carolyn Williams and Curtis Stephens, both of Andrews; and Mrs. Margaret Wilson of Pineville; and his great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Snow of Andrews; Lila Brown of Charleston; and Ida Jefferson of Pineville.
EADDY -- Funeral services for Richard Eaddy were held Friday, December 19, 1997, at Evangelistic Temple Way of the Cross Church in Kingstree, conducted by Rev. Roosevelt Fulton. Burial followed in the family plot of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Andrews directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mr. Eaddy, 40, died Thursday, December 11, 1997, at Dover Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was born September 15, 1947, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Leonard "Son" Eaddy, Sr. and Eva Louise Brown Eaddy. He graduated from Kingstree Senior High in 1976. He was a member of North Kingstree Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army. Survivors are: one sister, Essie Mae McCullough of Dover, N.J.; five brothers, Milton Eaddy, Clifford Eaddy and Earthell Eaddy, all of Miami, Fl.; Arron Eaddy of Dover, N.J.; and James Eaddy of Kingstree.
MCCLARY -- Funeral services for Mrs. Lease Bryant McClary were held Saturday, December 20, 1997, at Union Baptist Church in Salters, conducted by Rev. Willie Bryant. Burial followed in the family plot of the Rockyford Cemetery in Salters, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. McClary, 89, died Tuesday, December 16, 1997, at her residence in Salters. She was born December 11, 1908, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Warren and Glover Eloise Nelson Bryant. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. Survivors are: three daughters, Mrs. Sellersteen Smith of Jersey City, N.J.; Mrs. Emma Worthy of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Mrs. Mattie Wilson of Atlanta, Ga.; three sons, Leroy McClary of Salters; Felix McClary and Franklin McClary, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Lanoir of Salters; and Mrs. Eloise Gamble of Washington, D.C.
FRAZIER -- Funeral services for Roosevelt Frazier were held Friday, December 19, 1997, at Union Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Willie Bryant. Burial followed in Rockyford Cemetery in Salters directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Frazier died December 14, 1997, at Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. He was born June 16, 1909, in Salters, a son of the late William Frazier and Susanna Ferrel Frazier. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. He was Chairman of the Deacon Board, Sunday School Superintendent, Superintendent of the Sunday School Department in Rocky Mt., North Carolina and a member of Masonic Lodge #158. Survivors are: one daughter, Virginia Riggins of Salters; one sister, Rectina Nelson of Greeleyville; and one brother, Rev. Chester Frazier of Rocky Mt., N.C.
WILSON -- Funeral services for Sammie Wilson, Jr. were held Saturday, December 20, 1997, at Antioch Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Talbert Dickson. Burial followed in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home of Kingstree. Mr. Wilson, 58, died Monday, December 15, 1997, at Kingstree Nursing Home in Kingstree. He was born October 23, 1938, a son of the late Sammie Wilson, Sr. and Elizabeth Tisdale Wilson. Survivors are: three sons, Reginal Wilson and Michael Wilson, both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Fred Wilson of Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Lee Pressley of Kingstree.
