Posted By: GenealogyBuff.com LOU ELLEN TISDALE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Lou Ellen Mouzon Tisdale, 59, wife of Aaron Tisdale, were held Tuesday, July 8, 2003, in the Kingstree Church of God. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed in McClary Cemetery. Mrs. Tisdale died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at her residence. She was born in Williamsburg County, a daughter of Janie Mouzon and the late Laurie Mouzon. She attended Williamsburg County schools and was retired from Tupperware Manufacturing. Mrs. Tisdale was a member of Kingstree Church of God, where she was a member of the church choir. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include: her mother of Olanta; four sons, Ricky Tisdale, Charles Tisdale and Oliver Tisdale, all of Kingstree, and Eugene Tisdale of Sumter; five brothers, Laurie Mouzon, John Clyde Mouzon, Marvin Mouzon, Woodrow Mouzon and Leon Mouzon, all of Kingstree; one sister, Alice Mouzon of Kingstree; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
CHARLOTTE McCREA -- Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte McAlister McCrea, conducted by the Rev. L.C. Bines, were held Fri., June 20, 2003, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Cemetery. Mrs. McCrea, 95, died Sat., June 14, 2003, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital. She was born May 4, 1908, a daughter of the late Ed McAlister and Laura Fulton McAlister. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Surviving is one son, Nathaniel Norman McCrea of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
JOHN GREEN -- Funeral services for John Green, conducted by the Rev. C.W. Green and the Rev. Joseph Ricks, were held Fri., June 20, 2003, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Salters. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at the Salters Cemetery. Mr. Green, 81, died Mon., June 16, 2003, at the Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. He was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late William and Dollie Salters Green. He received his formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Survivors are: one daughter, Mrs. Lillie Mae Wilson of the home; one son, Leroy McKnight of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; 28 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
PHENE CHANDLER -- Funeral services for Mrs. Phene Chandler, conducted by Bishop Kenneth J. Swaringer, were held Sun., June 22, 2003, at Greater St. John Apostolic Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Old Keels Cemetery. Mrs. Chandler, 91, died Tues., June 17, 2003, at Carolina Hospital Center in Florence. She was born July 4, 1911, a daughter of the late Elder Henry Robinson and Daisy York. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was a member of Greater St. John Apostolic Church, where she served as mother of the church, church sexton, president of the junior choir and president of the Missionary Department. Survivors are: one sister, Mrs. Lucille Doctor of Charleston; one step-daughter, Mrs. Martha Fuller of New York; and one grandson.
CORRINE COOPER -- Funeral services for Mrs. Corrine E. Cooper, conducted by the Rev. Franklin R. Garrett, were held Sat., June 21, 2003, at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Willie Cooper Cemetery in Hemingway. Mrs. Cooper, 83, died Wed., June 11, 2003, in Philadelphia, Pennsyl-vania. She was born Nov. 5, 1920, a daughter of the late Calvin Hanna and Elizabeth C. Hanna Stafford. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Mattie Nesmith of Lake City.
CLYDE BARRINEAU -- Funeral services for D. Clyde Barrineau, 82, were held Saturday, June 21, 2003, in the Kingstree United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Mr. Barrineau died Thursday in a Florence hospital. He was born in Davis Station, a son of the late Robert and Lillian Jones Barrineau. He played semi-pro baseball in the Palmetto League before World War II. He was retired from Winslow Chevrolet and Farmers Telephone Cooperative. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific and was a member of the American Legion and the V.F. W. He was a Mason, Shriner and a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Barrineau was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church, having served on many boards and committees. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice Covington Barrineau and their son, Alton Barrineau. Survivors include: his wife, Letita Huggins Barrineau; one step-daughter, Gayle Owens of Columbia; one brother, Robert Barrineau of Charleston; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren Memorials may be made to the Eastern Star or to Kingstree United Methodist Church.
TONY RUSH -- Funeral services for Tony Cleveland Rush, II, conducted by the Rev. Franklin D. James, were held Sat., June 21, 2003, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Andrews. Burial, directed by Pressleyıs Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard cemetery. Mr. Rush died in Rochester, New York. He was born Nov. 22, 1976, in Rochester, New York, a son of Tony Cleveland Rush, Sr., and Ella Mae Morris. He graduated from Rochester Senior High School and upon graduation he joined the Army. Survivors, in addition to his parents, are: three sisters, Michelle Ervin of Rochester, New York; Nikki Rush of Kingstree; Ellen Rush of Kent, Washington; two brothers, Kevin Rush of San Diego, California; and Bryan Rush of Washington State.
WILLIAM CHRISTMAS William Andrew (W.A.) Christmas, 65, died Mon., June 23, 2003, at his residence. Funeral services were held Thurs., June 26, 2003, at the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Mr. Christmas was born in Clarendon County, a son of the late Hannibal Christmas and Lucille Miles Christmas Feagin. He was retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation. Mr. Christmas was a member of Kingstree First Baptist Church. Survivors are: his wife, Emmie Jo Williams Christmas of Kingstree; one daughter, Melissa Phipps of Rock Hill; one son, Joey Avant of Chesapeake, Virginia; two brothers, Jimmie Lee Feagin and Willie Joe Feagin, both of Kingstree; three sisters, Irene Foxworth of Lake City; Corrine Kirby and Jeanette McAlister, both of Kingstree; and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Kingstree First Baptist Church or Tidelands Hospice.
LILLIE BURGESS -- Funeral services for Lillie Mae Burgess, conducted by the Rev. Elijah Green, were held Tues., June 24, 2003, at Goodwill Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard cemetery. Ms. Burgess, 43, died Thurs., June 19, 2003, at McLeod Hospital in Florence. She was born Nov. 17, 1959, a daughter of Moses E. Burgess and Alberta Gainey Burgess. She attended the public schools of Florida. She was employed by Dixie Cup Manufacturing Company in Darlington, where she was a forklift driver. Survivors, in addition to her parents of Cades, are: two sons, Masters Daniel and David Burgess of Cades; one daughter, Tiffany Burgess of Cades; five brothers, Moses Burgess of West Palm Beach, Florida; Joseph Burgess and Curtis Burgess of Cades; Edward Burgess of Kingstree; and Bobby Burgess; and one sister, Tammy Burgess of Cades.
CORINNE TANNER -- Mrs. Corinne Cox Tanner, 94, widow of Reed Clifton Tanner, Sr., died June 23, 2003, in Orangeburg. Graveside funeral services were held Wed., June 25, 2003, at the Old Johnsonville Cemetery, with burial directed by Morris Funeral Home. Mrs. Tanner was born in Johnsonville, a daughter of the late Melon Vance and Lilla Perena Ard Cox. She attended Greenville Womenıs College, was retired from Farmers Telephone Cooperative, was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church and its Katie Cole Circle. She was also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and was a Kingstree hospital volunteer. Survivors are: two daughters, Elizabeth T. Clarke of Burlington, North Carolina; and Susan J. Tanner of Manning; two sons, Robert V. Tanner of Pinopolis; and John T. Tanner of Raleigh, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Methodist Oaks (Residents Assistance Endowment), Post Office Drawer 327, Orangeburg, South Carolina 29116-0327.
