Posted By: GenealogyBuff.com KAREN GRAHAM -- Funeral services for Mrs. Karen Kay Barr Graham, conducted by Elder Dr. Linwood Cooper, were held Tues., March 23, 2004, at St. Mark Believers Holiness Church in Lake City. Burial, directed by Samuels and Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Sunset Memory Garden in Effingham. Mrs. Graham, 40, died Wed., March 17, 2004, at the Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia. She was born Nov. 12, 1963, in Florence, a daughter of Carolyn Burgess Speller and Eric Darby. She was adopted by the late Alto Barr, Jr. She began her spiritual journey at Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Bronx, New York. She was a member of St. Mark Believers Holiness Church. She completed he public school education as a graduate of the class of 1981 at Lake City High School. She also attended Florence-Darlington Technical College. She was employed for many years as a mental health specialist with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. She was a talented floral designer and wedding coordinator. Survivors, in addition to her parents, are: her husband, Michael Graham of the home; one son, Geoffrey "Terrell" Graham of the home; one brother, Jonathan Barr of Charlotte, North Carolina; four sisters, Erica Speller of Lake City; Mrs. Demonica Riley of Orangeburg; Brooke Guinn-Darby and Brianna Darby, both of Brooklyn, New York; maternal grandmother, Conyers Barr of Florence; and her father- and mother-in-law, William and Annie Ruth Bragdon of Lake City.
DAVIS RICHBURG -- Davis Laford Richburg, 74, husband of Genevieve "Genny" Eaddy Richburg, died Mon., March 22, 2004, at his home in Greeleyville. Funeral services were held Wed., March 24, 2004, at the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning. Burial, directed by Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning, followed at Foreston Cemetery. Born April 29, 1929, in Foreston, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Carrie Holladay Richburg. He was a retired truck driver for Mishoe Oil. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the American Legion Post and VFW in Kingstree. Survivors are: two daughters, Dawn Reardon of Lexington; and Janet Elvington of Florence; two step-daughters, Joyce B. Witherspoon of Kingstree; and Charlene B. Moses of Florence; one brother, Walter Richbourg of Manning; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
LOUIS GAMBLE, JR. -- Funeral services for Louis Arthur Gamble, Jr., conducted by the Rev. Clifford Levine, pastor, were held Sun., March 28, 2004, at Bethel A.M.E. Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Cowhead Cemetery. Mr. Gamble, 60, died Thurs., March 18, 2004, in Camden, New Jersey. He was born Feb. 1, 1944, in Wilson, North Carolina, a son of the late Mattie Riggins Gamble Montgomery and Louis Arthur Gamble, Sr. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. He was employed by CeCo Steel Company for three years, Northern Metal Company for eight years and Cosmopolitan Inc. for four years. Survivors are: one son, Anthony Gamble of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his step-father, George Montgomery of Lane; one sister, Florine Brunson of Lane; and two brothers, Lucien Gamble and John Gamble, both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
LERONE SINGLETARY -- Funeral services for Lerone Singletary, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Brockington, were held Thurs., March 25, 2004, at Marion Missionary Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at St. Mary A.M.E. Church Cemetery. Mr. Singletary, 55, died Sat., March 20, 2004, at Clarendon County Memorial Hospital in Manning. He was born June 20, 1948, a son of the late Felder Singletary and Bernice Dozier Singletary. He was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He was a member of Marion Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Patricia Singletary of Lane; three sons, Cubit Singletary of Salters; James Jermont Singletary and Patrick Donnell, both of Lane; two daughters, LaıTonya Singletary of Cross and Mrs. Karen Montgomery of Greeleyville; one step-daughter, Mrs. Mellissa Jones of Bloomingville; one brother, Herman Singletary of Orangeburg; three sisters, Mrs. Marbell Dell Green of Lane; Sandra Green of Georgetown; and Shelva Dean Chandler; and 13 grandchildren.
WILLIAM BROCKINGTON -- Funeral services for William Truman Washington Brockington, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Lee Curtis Bines, were held Thurs., March 25, 2004, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Cemetery. Mr. Brockington, 58, died Sun., March 21, 2004, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. He was born March 8, 1946, a son of the late Katherine Fulton Brockington and William Buster Brockington. He was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Anna Brockington of Kingstree; one son, William Donald Brockington of New York, New York; one daughter, Mary Lisa Brockington of Spartanburg; one brother, Samuel Brockington of Sumter; and three grandchildren.
JULIAN HARRINGTON -- Julian Kenneth Harrington, 73, died Thurs., March 25, 2004, at his residence. Funeral services, conducted the by the Rev. Jeff Shelton and the Rev. Jeff Goude, were held Sunday, March 28, 2004, at the graveside in Piney Forest Cemetery near Andrews. Mr. Harrington was born in Pamplico on Nov. 17, 1930, a son of the late Carl Newly Harrington and Bessie Viola Poston Harrington. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Harrington retired after 16 years employment with Andrews Wire. He was also a commercial fisherman and loved to fish. He was a member of North Hampton Baptist Church in Georgetown. Survivors are: his wife, Christabel Moore Lambert Harrington; two sons, Richard "Ricky" Harrington of Kingstree; and Randy Harrington of Andrews; two daughters, Olga "Prissy" Miles and Jennifer Taylor, both of Andrews; two step-sons, Michael Lambert of Georgetown; and Jimmy Lambert of Panama City, Florida; five step-daughters, Barbara L. Lassiter of Bridge City, Texas; Lana Lambert of Port Arthur, Texas; and Amy L. Smith, Jennifer L. Watts and Sharon L. Elliott, all of Georgetown; two brothers, Joseph Harrington and Howard Harrington, both of Andrews; two sisters, Betty Roberts of Andrews; and Billy Jean Davis of Conway; 20 grandchildren; 23 step-grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
CECIL SHAW -- Funeral services for Cecil Shaw, 65, conducted by the Rev. Joshua Gaskin and the Rev. J.P. Thomas, were held Sat., March 27, 2004, at St. Mary United Methodist Church in Kingstree. Burial, directed by Pressley's Funeral Home, followed at St. Mary United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Shaw died Mon., March 22, 2004, at the Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. He was born June 30, 1938, in Kingstree, a son of the late Westley Shaw and Virginia Bradley Shaw. He was a member of Mouzon Community Menıs Club. He was a farmer and was employed by Raymond Fulton. Survivors are: one brother, Buster Shaw of Greensboro, North Carolina, and a host of nephews and nieces.
MARY GRAHAM -- Mrs. Mary Small Graham, 69, died Mon., March 22, 2004, in a Kingstree hospital. Funeral services were held Thurs., March 25, 2004, at the graveside in the Salters Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mrs. Graham was born in the Salters Community of Williamsburg County, a daughter of Jennie Chandler Small and William James Small, Sr. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and a retired caregiver. She was a member of Kingstree Church of God. Survivors are: two sisters, Janie S. David of Easley and Leila S. McPherson of Moncks Corner. The family asks that memorials be made to the Kingstree Church of God, 904 Fourth Avenue, Kingstree, SC 29556.
ANNIE CRIBB -- Mrs. Annie Lucas Cribb, 74, wife of David K. Cribb, died Thurs., March 25, 2004, at her residence. Funeral services were held Mon., March 29, 2004, at Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at Williamsburg Cemetery. Mrs. Cribb was born in Bishopville, a daughter of the late Henry S. and Rhoda Galloway Lucas. She was a retired employee of the Exchange Bank of South Carolina and the Bank of Greeleyville. Mrs. Cribb was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. Survivors, in addition to her husband of Kingstree, are: two sons, David W. Cribb and Brian L. Cribb, both of Kingstree; one daughter, Lee Anne C. Vincent of Timmins, Ontario, Canada; one sister, Linda Walters of Suffolk, Virginia; one brother, Darby Lucas of Bishopville; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
JEFFERY TISDALE -- Funeral services for Jeffery Gervie "Gubbie" Tisdale, conducted by Rev. Joseph Cobin, were held Sat., Aug. 7, 2004, at St. Mary African Methodist Episcopal Church in Salters. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at St. Mary A.M.E. Churchyard Cemetery. Mr. Tisdale died Wed., Aug. 4, 2004. He was born March 20, 1914, in Salters, a son of the late Mrs. Rebecca Barr Washington Tisdale and grandson of the late Virgil and Rose McCutcheon Barr. He was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County at St. Lawrence School. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary A.M.E. Church, where he served as a class leader, a trustee, and before the church started banking their monies, he served as the church treasurer. Mr. Tisdale was employed by Georgetown Textile for 13 years until his retirement. He was also a lifelong farmer. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Martha S. Tisdale of the home; his children, Carrie T. McClary of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; William Tisdale of Salters; Martha Tisdale of Philadelphia, Pennsyl-vania; Gert Tisdale-Gaiter of Cranbury, New Jersey; Rubye Tisdale-Todman of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; Rose Tisdale of Salters; and Patrick E.C. Tisdale of Summerville; one sister, Jannie Alston-Tilman of Bronx, New York; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
