LATHAM -- Patricia Donnelly Latham, 70, of Raleigh, NC, died Thursday, November 25, 1999. She was born in Kingstree, the daughter of the late Robert Donnelly and Blanche McDaniel Donnelly. Funeral services were held Monday, November 29, 1999, in the chapel at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Millbrook Rd. Mrs. Latham was an artist, with special interest in landscape painting and candle making. She also enjoyed the houseboat retreat at Kerr Lake. Survivors are: her husband, Robert (Jaws) Latham; two sons, Chug Latham of Lake Wylie, SC; and Tony Latham of Raleigh, NC; two daughters, Kimberly L. Black of Tonaskeg, WA; and Victoria L. Hummer of St. Petersburg, FL; one brother, Bob Donnelly of Atlanta, GA; and two sisters, Bettty Bell of Atlanta, GA; and Nonie Frampton of Greenville.

WALLACE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Joanna Elizabeth Cooper Wallace were held Wednesday, November 24, 1999, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, conducted by Brother Eugene White and Brother Robert Dorsey, Sr. Burial followed in the Kingdom Hall Cemetery directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mrs. Wallace died Friday, November 19, 1999, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. She was born October 31, 1944, the daughter of Mrs. Lillie Maude Williams Cooper and the late Anderson Cooper. She graduated from Tomlinson High School in Kingstree in 1963. She also attended Williamsburg Technical College in Kingstree, where she received training in the home health profession. She was employed for several years with Warsaw Manufacturing Company in Kingstree. She also worked for numerous years in the home health profession. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Kingstreee, are her husband, Billy Leon Wallace of Kingstree; one daughter, Mrs. Surena Smith of Kingstree; one son, Billy Leon Wallace, Jr. of Columbia; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Esther Wallace of Kingstree; five sisters, Marie Myers of Nesmith; Mrs. Louise Smith, Martha Ann Burgess, Mrs. Linda Darby and Judiet "Polly" Brown, all of Columbia; and three brothers, Virdell Cooper of Hyattsville, MD; Earl Cooper of Columbia; and Howard Cooper of Washington, DC.

ROSS -- Helen McKnight Ross, 74, wife of Ronald S. Ross, Sr., died Friday, November 26, 1999, in a Sumter hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 28, 1999, in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Gary Adams and the Rev. Mike Murdock. Burial followed in the church cemetery directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mrs. Ross was born in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late James Reuben McKnight and Annie Player McKnight. She was a graduate of Greeleyville High School and was member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. Survivors, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Ronald S. (Smitty) Ross, Jr. of Greeleyville; and Michael C. (Mike) Ross of Manning; and one sister, Lola C. Murphy of Spartanburg.

DAWSON -- Funeral services for Stanley Jerome Dawson were held Thursday, December 2, 1999, at the MCAS Chapel, with burial following in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Greeleyville, directed by Marshel's Wright-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Dawson, 40, died Saturday, November 27 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. He was born June 3, 1959, in Hempstead, Long Island, New York, a son of Stanley and Deloris Murray Dawson. Mr. Dawson attended Battery Creek High School and was a 1977 graduate of Quantico High School, Quantico, Virginia. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Surviving are his parents, Stanley and Deloris Murray Dawson of Beaufort; one sister, Karen Dawson Giles of Beaufort, and two brothers, Murray Dawson of Beaufort and Michael Dawson of Orangeburg.

BRADLEY -- Funeral services for Verline Bradley were held Fri., Dec. 3, at Siloam Baptist Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Francis Burrows. Burial followed in the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Kingstree, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Bradley, 57, died Nov. 26 at Kingstree Nursing Facility. She was born July 12, 1942, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Julius C. Bradley and Pearl Lula Barr Bradley. She ws a member of Siloam Baptist Church. She was employed at the Williamsburg County Memorial Hospital. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and a Double Dutch coach. Survivors are: two sons, Stanley Bradley and Benson L. Bradley, both of Myrtle Beach; one daughter, Stephanie P. Bradley of the home; four brothers, Julian Bradley, Carroll Bradley and Gene Bradley, all of Kingstree; and Robert Bradley of Columbia; and one sister, Ruinette McCollough of Hemingway.

MOUZON -- Laurie Witherspoon Mouzon, 83, died Wed., December 1, 1999, in a Florence hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, in the First Free Will Baptist Church. Burial followed in Mouzon Cemetery, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mouzon was born in Williamsburg County, a son of the late John Henry and Nellie Huggins Mouzon. He was a retired farmer and a Presbyterian. Survivors are: his wife, Janie Mae Miles Mouzon of Kingstree; two daughters, Mary Alice Mouzon and Lou Ellen Tisdale, both of Kingstree; five sons, Laurie, Jr., Woodrow, John Clyde, Henry M. and Leon Mouzon, all of Kingstree; one brother, Harry A. Mouzon of New Zion; and four sisters, Betty M. Easler of Kingstree; Lou Ellen M. Jones of Pickens; Frances M. Shaboo of Elba, AL; and Louise Morrow of Pauline.

BROWN -- Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Lee McFadden Brown were held Dec. 7, at Saint John Missionary Baptist Church in Greeleyville, conducted by the Rev. Talbert Dickson. Burial followed in the churchyard Cemetery, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Brown, 79, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 1999, at her residence in Kingstree. She was born April 24, 1920, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late William and Lottie Burgess McFadden. She was a member of Saint John Baptist Church. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Isreal "Star" Brown. Survivors are: three brothers, Norris McFadden and Fred McFadden, both of the Bronx, NY; and John David McFadden of Columbia.

CALDWELL -- Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Mageline Benbow Caldwell were held Sat., Dec. 4, 1999, at Antioch Baptist Church in Lane, conducted by the Rev. Elder B. Holmes. Burial followed in Gordon Cemetery in Lane, directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Caldwell, 91, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Clarendon County Memorial Hospital in Manning. She was born March 30, 1908, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Boston Benbow and Daisy Green Benbow. She was married to the late James Caldwell. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors are: one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Hodge of Lane; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Gibson of Lane; and two brothers, Esau Benbow of Lane; and Henry Benbow of New York City, NY.

THIGPEN -- Mrs. Azalee B. Thigpen, 69, wife of John Hugh Thigpen, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, in Ron McNair Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Dec. 7, 1999, in the Floyd's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial followed in the church Cemetery, directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Thigpen was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Ethel Parker Bennett. She was a homemaker and member of Floyd's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors are: her husband of Cades; two daughters, Sheryl Thigpen of Cades; and Phyllis Coward of Coward; two sons, Johnny Thigpen of Lake City; and William Thigpen of New Zion; two brothers, Delano Bennett of Olanta; and Alphonzo Bennett of Lake City; and one sister, Cholee Gowdy of Lake City.

MILES -- Ann Frances Wakim Miles, 79, widow of William R. Miles, Jr., died Sunday, December 5, 1999, at her residence. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 8, 1999, in the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Miles was born in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Eli Wakim and Takla (Ethel) Kalil Wakim. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and a retired nurse. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. Survivors are: three sons, William R. Miles, III, of Daytona Beach, FL; Carol A. Miles of Port Orange, FL; and Lawrence W. Miles of Kingstree; and two daughters, Nancy Powell of Florence; and Sherry Kortness of Kingstree; one brother, Paul Wakim of Charleston; and one sister, Margaret Lewis of Wheeling, WV.
