GODWIN -- Ronald David Godwin, 18, died Friday, August 22, 1997, in Florence County, from injuries received in an auto accident. Funeral services were held Monday, August 25, 1997, in the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Lake City Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Godwin was born in Williamsburg County, a son of Ronald K. Godwin and Cathy Marie Matthews. He attended Kingstree Senior High School and Kingstree First Will Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to his parents, are: his step-mother, Joyce Walters Godwin of Kingstree; one sister, Jackie Marie Godwin of Kingstree; one half-brother, Joey Matthews of Kingstree; two step-sisters, Marie Bowar and Amanda Bowar, both of Kingstree; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Matthews of Kingstree.

HAM -- Mrs. Mary K. Ham, 83, of Cades, died Friday, August 22, 1997, in a Lake City hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 24, 1997, in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Lake City Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Ham was born in Paulding, Mo., the daughter of Oscar Kruse and Frances O'Bryan Kruse. She was the widow of Newell Burton Ham. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lake City Baptist Church. Survivors are: one daughter, Mrs. Fran Evans of Cades; and three sons, Darrell Ham of Waukesha, Wis.; Jim Ham of Canton, MI; and Jerry Ham of Richmond, Va.

WILLIAMS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Hickson Williams were held Saturday, August 23, 1997, at Elijah United Methodist Church in Kingstree, conducted by Rev. Rufus Snowden. Burial followed in Elijah United Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Williams, 81, died Monday, August 18, 1997, in Avante Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Concord, N.C. She was born November 15, 1915, in Olanta, a daughter of the late Lizzie McKenzie Hickson and Daniel Hickson. She was a member of Elijah United Methodist Church. Survivors are: one son, Freddie Williams of Charlotte, N.C.; seven daughters, Lula Mae Shaw, Mrs. Mary Lee Killings, Lizzie Mae Thomas and Ella Mae Williams, all of Charlotte, N.C.; Mrs. Annie Lee Faison of Florence; Mrs. Julia Mae McCrea of Nesmith; and Carrie Bell Cooper of Kingstree; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie H. Brown of Darlington; and Inell H. James of Florence; and one brother, Troy Hickson of Florence.

COLEMAN -- Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Mae Coleman were held Saturday, August 23, 1997, at Bible Way Temple in Lane, conducted by Elder Thomas Plowden. Burial followed in McKnight Cemetery in Lane directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Coleman, 63, died Sunday, August 17, 1997, at her home in Lane. She was born May 30, 1934, in Lane, a daughter of the late Foster Parson and Louise Kelty Parson. She was employed at Fisherman Corvell as a seamstress for 19 years in Philadelphia, Pa. and Morrison Cafeteria for 12 years. After moving back home she worked as a caretaker and at Myrtle Beach. She was a member of Bible Way Temple and worked as president of the Senior Usher Board. Survivors are: two sisters, Mrs. Inez Lloyd and Mrs. Doris M. Felix, both of Clearwater, Florida; and one brother, Louis Parson of Clearwater, Florida.

GADSON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Doretha Isabella McGill Singletary Gadson were held Friday, August 29, 1997, at New Friendship Baptist Church in Kingstree, conducted by Rev. Bernard Page. Burial followed in Singletary Cemetery directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Gadson, 75, died Sunday, August 24, 1997, at the Prince George Healthcare Facility in Georgetown. She was the daughter of the late Jessie and Annie Brown McGill. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. She worked for a number of years at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Survivors are: three sons, Alvin Singletary, Jr. of Bronx, New York.; Vernell Singletary and Walter Singletary, both of Kingstree, S.C.; five daughters, Mrs. Pearl McCormick and Isabell Strange, both of Cades, S.C.; Mrs. Ronita Owens, Mrs. Blondell Fulton and Mrs. Barbara Hugee, all of Kingstree, S.C.; and two brothers, Rollee McGill and Clarence McGill, both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

FULTON -- Funeral services for Webster Fulton were held Friday, August 29, 1997, at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Cades, conducted by Rev. Franklin Fulmore, Sr. Burial followed at State Cemetery directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mr. Fulton, 55, died Monday, August 25, 1997, at his residence in Lake City. He was born January 7, 1942, in Williamsburg County, the son of the late Hayward and Queen Graham Fulton. He was employed for a number of years as a roofer. He was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary Burgess Fulton of the home; two daughters, Denise Fulton of Lake City; and Mrs. Cassandra Buoy of Miami, FL; six brothers, Joe Fulton of Cades; John Paul Fulton of Florence; Eric Fulton and Gillie Fulton, both of Lake City; David Harrison of Kingstree; Levern Fulton of Mt. Ariery, N.Y.; and three sisters, Mrs. Rosa Lee Gamble of Miami, FL; Mrs. Mary Lee Stokes of Rochester, N.Y.; and Mrs. Christine Askins of Scranton.

GRAHAM -- Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche E. Parson Graham were held Thursday, August 28, 1997, at the William N. Redmond Memorial Chapel in Kingstree, conducted by Rev. Lillian H. Washington. Burial followed at Faith United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kingstree directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Graham, 81, died Thursday, August 21, 1997, at her residence in Washington, D.C. She was born June 15, 1916, in Manning, a daughter of the late John Parson and Rosa Cooper Parson. She was a member of Lane Memorial C.M.E. Church. Survivors are: her husband, Leroy "Dickey Roy" Graham of the home; four daughters, Theresa Whitmyer and Denise Graham, both of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Bena Smith and Blanche Redmond, both of Largo, Md.; and two sons, Leroy Graham, Jr. of Clinton, Md.; and Charles I. Graham of Largo, Md.

McGILL -- Funeral services for Georgiana McGill were held at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Kingstree, conducted by Rev. John A. Seller. Burial followed directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Ms. McGill, 61, died Tuesday, August 26, 1997, at Jacobi Hospital in Bronx, New York. She was born December 29, 1935, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Kinley and Viola Mitchum McGill. She graduated from Meagers Evers College. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Ms. McGill worked for a number of years at a New York Hospital as a nursešs technician. Survivors are: one daughter, Mrs. Delois Chamber of Columbia; four sons, Gregory McGill of Bronx, N.Y.; Kevin McGill of Queens, N.Y.; Andre McGill of Vicenza, Italy and Clyde McGill of Bronx, N.Y.; two brothers, Leroy McGill and Murray McClary, both of Kingstree; and eight sisters, Mrs. Jannie M. Dupree, Mrs. Winnie Wallace and Mrs. Annie Dorsey, all of Kingstree; Thelma McGill of Charlotte, N.C.; Mrs. Mary Frances McGill of Sacramento, Ca.; Rosa Juanita McCrea of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Evelina McGill of Atlanta, Ga; and Mrs. Nancy Green of Brooklyn, N.Y.

YARBOROUGH -- Rev. Ernest M. Yarborough, 65, died Tuesday, August 26, 1997, at his residence. Funeral service were held Thursday, August 28, 1997, in the Broad Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Rev. Yarborough was born in Florence County, a son of the late Ingram M. Yarborough and Constance Burrows Yarborough. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and an ordained minister with the South Carolina Conference of Pentecostal Holiness Churches, Rhems Pentecostal Holiness Church, Red Oak Pentecostal Holiness Church, Hannahšs Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Midway Full Gospel Church, Freemont Mission and the Edistor Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was an automobile mechanic with Thomas Ford Motor Company of Kingstree and a night auditor with the Kingšs Tree Inn. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Annette Floyd Yarborough of Kingstree; two sons, Ernest Delen Yarborough and Eddie K. Yarborough, both of Lake City; one daughter, Judy Y. Lucius of Savannah, Georgia.; two sisters, Margarette Y. Floyd of Manning; and Linda Y. Scott of Timmonsville; and two brothers, R. L. Yarborough of Nesmith; and Burnette Yarborough of New Zion.

WHITE -- Funeral services for Kimuela (Kim) Ursala White were held Saturday, August 23, 1997, at Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church in Kingstree, conducted by Rev. Charles C. McLamore. Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Ms. White, 32, died Monday, August 11, 1997, in Miami, FL. She was born June 17, 1965, in Bronx, N.Y., a daughter of Anna White-Brown. She was a 1983 honors graduate of Kingstree Senior High School. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Bronx, N.Y., are: one daughter, Chequetta White of Miami, FL; one son, Devon White of Miami, Fl.; two sisters, Wendy Brown and Marie Brown-Bryant of Bronx, N.Y.; one brother, James Kai Anderson of Bronx, N.Y.; one foster brother, Timmy White of Kingstree; and her grandmother, Mrs. Rachel W. McClary of Kingstree.
