Posted By: GenealogyBuff.com MOUZON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Earletha Mouzon were held Saturday, April 1, 2000, at St. Mary Apostolic Faith Church. Burial followed at Broughton Cemetery in Trio directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mrs. Mouzon died Tuesday, March 28, 2000. She was born May 26, 1941, in Georgetown County, a daughter of the late Calvin and Lizzie White McCray. She was a member of St. Mary Apostolic Faith Church. She was married to the late James Mouzon. She was employed for many years for Hal and Mary Lisa McGill. Survivors are: two daughters, Gwendolyn Mouzon of the home; and Jeonetta Mouzon of Kingstree; two sisters, Edna M. Hampton of Kingstree; and Adlee M. Ingram of Patterson, NJ; one foster sister, Mary C. Tisdale of Trio; four brothers, Willie McCray of Birmingham, AL; Alexander McCray of Stone Mountain, GA; Eddie White, Sr. of Miami, FL; and John H. McCray of Patterson, NJ; one grandchild, whom she reared in the home, Danelle L. Mouzon.
LESAINE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Dianne Burrows Miller Lesaine were held Monday, April 10, 2000, at St. Michael United Methodist Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Dr. Rev. Charles Conner. Burial followed in the church¹s cemetery directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Lesaine, 47, died Friday, April 7, 2000, at Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. She was born October 5, 1952, in Kingstree, a daughter of Mrs. Louise Peterson Burrows and the late Purvis Burrows. She was a graduate of Kingstree Senior High School. She was a member of St. Michael United Methodist Church. She was a former employee of Baxter Pharmaceutical Laboratory in Kingstree. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Kingstree, are: her husband, Larry Lesaine of Kingstree; two sons, Marsden Miller and Jessie Anderson, both of Kingstree; one sister, Keyonna Jackson of Rochester, NY; two brothers, Raymond Burrows and Cornelius Burrows, both of Kingstree; and her father-in-law, Ike Lesaine of Kingstree.
GRAHAM -- Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl C. Graham were held Friday, April 7, 2000, at Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Jerome Wilson, the Rev. Dr. Allen W. Parrott and Bishop John H. Adams. Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Graham died March 30, 2000, at Dr. Ronald McNair Nursing Center in Lake City. She was born March 10, 1900, in the Kingstree area, the daughter of the late Aquilla Cooper, Sr. and Lizzie Ann Reed Cooper. She graduated from Cooper Academy Public School and was accepted for admission at Morris College. She was a member of Greater Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church, where she was a member of the senior choir, the Missionary Society, chairperson of the Condolence Committee and a member of Class No. 9. She was married to the late Ishmel Graham. Survivors are: six daughters, Mrs. Donna Lee G. Williams of Washington, DC; Mrs. Mona Nelson of Rome, NY; Mrs. Bena G. Nicholson of Norristown, PA; Mrs. Ica Belle G. Barr of Kingstree; Mrs. Loulease G. Sellers of Battle Creek, MI; and Mrs. Mayme G. Thornton of Los Angeles, CA; and two sons, Leroy Graham of Washington, DC; and Ishmel R. Graham of Los Angeles, CA.
ALSTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Janie Morris Alston were held Thursday, April 6, 2000, at Friendship United Methodist Church in Nesmith, conducted by the Rev. Leonard Huggins, Jr. Burial followed at Burroughs Cemetery in Nesmith directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Alston died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. She was born January 1, 1920, in Nesmith, the daughter of Alex Morris, Sr. and Mary Pressley Morris. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, where she served as a member of the usher board. She was also a member of the Joseph and Brothers Lodge. She was employed by the King's Tree Inn. She was married to the late Salters Alston, Sr. Survivors are: six children, Mrs. Deloris Alston Riggins of the home; Mary Jane Alston Wilson and Samuel Lee Alston, both of Kingstree; Eugene Alston of Nesmith; Mrs. Janie Alston Cooper and Salters Alston, Jr., both of Rochester, NY; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Morris Jones of Philadelphia, PA; and one brother, Alex Morris, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA.
SHARP -- Funeral services for Willie Sharp were held Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Old Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Benjamin Miller and the Rev. George Cousar. Burial followed at Wesley-Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kingsree directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mr. Sharp, 71, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Summerville. He was born August 13, 1929, in Salters, a son of the late Ulysses and Henrietta Kinder Sharp. He graduated from Tomlinson High School and attended South Carolina State College. He was a member of Old Mount Zion A.M.E. Zion Church. He was a former member of Kingstree Masonic Lodge #237 and Lake City Elks Lodge #1680. He served for 21 years in the United States Navy. In 1962, he received the Bronze Star. He was later employed by Baxter Laboratories for over 20 years. Survivors are: his wife, Ruth B. Sharp; two children, Willette S. Burnham and Rodney Sharp; one sister, Margaret S. Cousar; and one adopted sister, Debra K. Singleton.
GRAHAM -- Memorial services for Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Graham were held Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Elijah United Methodist Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Brown, Jr. Burial followed at the churchyard cemetery directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mrs. Graham died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. Survivors, in addition to her father, Buster Graham of Kingstree, are: two children, David Fulton, Jr. and Connie D. Fulton, both of Kingstree; one sister, Mrs. Mary Graham Porchea of Philadelphia, PA; and three brothers, Willis Graham, Billy Graham and Curtis Graham, all of Kingstree.
KEELS -- Funeral services for Alex Keels were held Thursday, April 20, 2000, at St. John 4-B Missionary Baptist Church in Greeleyville, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Brockington. Burial followed in Cowhead Cemetery in Greeleyville directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Keels, 79, died Friday, April 14, 2000, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. He was born August 3, 1921, in Salters, a son of the late York Keels and Lillie Keels. He was employed as a construction worker. He was a member of St. John 4-B Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board. He was also a member of Pine Grove Masonic Lodge and Hampton Lodge. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Maggie Keels of Greeleyville; two sons, Willie Edward Keels of Greeleyville; and Leon Keels of Joppa, MD; four daughters, Mrs. Emma Williams, Mrs. LeeVone Shaw and Mrs. Lula Moyd, all of Greeleyville; and Mrs. Brenda Mack of Manning; three brothers, York Keels and Jody Keels, both of Troy, NY; and Lee Eston Keels of San Diego, CA; and two sisters, Mrs. Earther Lee York of Kingstree; and Mrs. Mary Emma Lee of White Plaines, NY.
COOPER -- Funeral services for Mrs. Naomi Brown Cooper were held Friday, April 21, 2000, at Bethesda United Methodist Church in Lake City, conducted by the Rev. Franklin R. Garrett. Burial followed in Dr. James Cemetery in Kingstree directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Cooper, 85, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at her residence in Kingstree. After graduating from high school, she continued her education at Morris College in Sumter. She received a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. She served at Bethesda as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the senior church choir and as a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Good Hope Chapter No. 269, Order of Eastern Star, Joint Stock Lodge No. 442 and a member of the Williamsburg County Retired Teachers Association. She was married to the late Joe L. Cooper. Survivors are: a nephew, she raised as her own, Raymond Washington of Hemingway; two sisters, Mrs. Rhodie B. Washington of Hemingway; and Mrs. Essie B. Burgess of Philadelphia, PA; and two brothers, Seward C. Brown of Hemingway; and Wyman B. Brown of Aiken.
GIBSON -- Funeral services for Timothy Gibson were held Friday, April 21, 2000, at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Lane, conducted by the Rev. C. C. Gordon and the Rev. Bonus Miller. Burial followed in the McKnight Cemetery in Lane directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mr. Gibson, 89, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at the McNair Nursing Center in Lake City. He was born August 21, 1910, in Lane, a son of the late Aaron Gibson, Sr. and Sarah Davis Gibson. He was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. He was employed by Uniroyal Tire Company for many years as an assembly line worker. He was married to the late Mrs. Louvenia Walker Gibson. Survivors are: one sister, Mrs. Laura Conyers of Lake City; and two step-sons, M.C. Williams and the Rev. James B. Williams, both of Springfield, MA.
CEASAR -- Funeral services for James Ceasar were held Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Kennedyville United Methodist Church in Nesmith, conducted by the Rev. James Graham. Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mr. Ceasar died Monday, April 17, 2000, at the residence of his granddaughter. He was born December 12, 1929, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Tom and Mary Corine Singletary Ceasar. He joined the military, serving in World War I and II at Separation Center, Camp Gordon, GA, as Duty Soldier III for three years. He was honorably discharged on January 24, 1946, with the rank of Private First Class, Aviation Squadron 27th Depot Group. He received the World War II Victory Medal, the American Theater Ribbon, the Apt Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed for 18 months at Bowle¹s Sawmill in Andrews. He was a member of Kennedyville United Methodist Church in Nesmith. He was married to the late Mrs. Laura Ceasar. Survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Richardson Stackhouse of Kingstree; and Mrs. Katie Ellen Dunkin of Mullins; two sons, Willie Ceasar of Brooklyn, NY; and Sylvester Ceasar of Kingstree; two sisters, Mrs. Curline Dorsey of Hemingway; and Mrs. Eva Atkins of New Haven, CT; and three brothers, Laurie Ceasar and Albert Ceasar, both of Hemingway; and Willie Ceasar of Lake City.
