Posted By: GenealogyBuff.com MILDRED CASSELMAN -- Mildred Hayes Casselman, 82, died Sept. 12, 2000, in Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Sept. 14, at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Andrews, conducted by the Rev. Paul Miles, the Rev. Erwyn Ammons and the Rev. Gusta Ganes. Burial followed at Andrews Memorial Cemetery directed by Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Mrs. Casselman was born April 23, 1918, in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Lewis Hennesy Hayes and Gertrude Young Hayes. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Andrews and the widow of Willie Oden Casselman. Survivors are: three daughters, Barbara Thornell of Andrews; Shelby Hocutt of Georgetown; and Pearl Rowell of Trio.
ADELLAR MATTHEWS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Adellar Miller Matthews were held Sept. 16, 2000, at Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lane, conducted by the Rev. Donnie McBride. Burial followed at Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Cemetery in Summerton directed by Redmond-Richardson. Mrs. Matthews was born March 28, 1919, in Clarendon County, a daughter of the late Gadson and Annie Miller. She was a member of Lane Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she sang on the choir. She was employed by the Williamsburg Council on Aging and Williamsburg County School District for a number of years. She was married to the late Henry Nelson Matthews. Survivors are: three daughters, Mrs. Marlene McClary of Reno, NV; Mrs. Julia Mae Rhines of Kingstree; and Queen Esther Williams of Manning; three sons, Leroy Miller of Baltimore, MD; David Howard of Ft. Myers, FL; and Willie Howard of Jacksonville, FL.
CHRISTOPHER NESBITT -- Christopher L. (Chris) Nesbitt, Sr., 24, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, in Williamsburg County as a result of a boating accident. Funeral services were held Sat., Sept. 16, at the Family Worship Center, conducted by the Rev. Murray W. Powell, the Rev. Paul Lambert and the Rev. Elmer Lambert. Burial followed at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens in Georgetown directed by Graham Funeral Home of Georgetown. Mr. Nesbitt was born January 21, 1976, in Georgetown County, a son of Gerald Winston Nesbitt, Sr. and Brenda Lambert Nesbitt. He was an employee of Piggly Wiggly Grocery in Andrews. Survivors, in addition to his parents of Georgetown, are: his wife, Tara Miller of Andrews; one son, Christopher L. Nesbitt, Jr. of Andrews; his paternal grandparents, Weldon and Bertie Nesbitt of Georgetown; one brother, Gerald W. Nesbitt, Jr. of Georgetown; and one sister, Sabrina L. Cannon of Andrews.
IDELL WILSON WHITE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Idell Wilson White were held Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at Wilson United Methodist Church in Greeleyville, conducted by the Rev. Edward McLeod. Burial followed at McKnight Cemetery in Lane directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. White, 69, died Wed., Sept. 13, 2000, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia. She was born May 17, 1931, in the Suttonšs Community of Lane, a daughter of the late Lillie Conyers Wilson and John Wilson, Sr. She was married to the late Joseph White, Sr. She was a domestic worker. She was a member of Wilson United Methodist Church. Survivors are: her step-mother, Margaret Baker Wilson of Scranton; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Scott of Greeleyville; Rose White of Columbia; one son, Joseph White, Jr. of Columbia; three grandchildren, who she reared as her own: Sammie White of Atlanta, GA; Mrs. Janie Hilton and Terrial White, both of Manning; three sisters, Mammie Williams and Mrs. Elizabeth Gamble, both of Greeleyville; and Mrs. Deloris Brown of Trio; and five brothers, Bernice Wilson and Robert Wilson, both of Chapel Hill, NC; James Wilson of Winston Salem, NC; Issac Wilson of Charleston; and John Wilson, Jr. of Hemingway.
FRED ROBINSON JAMES -- Funeral services for Fred Robinson James were held Sat., Sept. 16, 2000, at the Church of God and True Holiness in Kingstree. Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery in Kingstree directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. James, 58, died Sept. 12, at Manor Care South in Williamsport, PA. He was born May 23, 1942, in Kingstree, a son of the late Lewis Robinson James and Lannie Murphy James. He was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. He worked as an electrical engineer at ABB Automation in Williamsport, PA. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Survivors are: one daughter, Kimberly James of Cherry Hill, NJ; five brothers, Chauncey L. James and Eugene James, both of Philadelphia, PA; Theron James, Sr. and Riley James, both of Rochester, NY; and Clyde James of Philadelphia, PA; and two sisters, Mrs. Alma Gause of Rochester, NY; and Mrs. Catherine Holoman of Philadelphia, PA.
AGNES BALLARD -- Agnes E. Ballard, 86, widow of Lee Cannon Ballard, Jr., died Monday, August 21, 2000, in Winyah Convalescent Center in Georgetown. Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, August 23, 2000, at Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Paul C. Fuener. Mrs. Ballard was born October 30, 1913, in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Elhalen Victor Emerson and Annie Young Emerson. She was a member of Prince George, Winyah Episcopal Church and was a former member of the Altar Guild. She was a former member of the Georgetown Garden Club and was a homemaker. Survivors: one son, Lee Cannon Ballard, III, of Salters; and one daughter, Anne B. Boyce of Columbia.
CHARLIE PRESSLEY -- Funeral services for Charlie Pressley were held Wednesday, August 26, 2000, at the William N. Redmond Memorial Chapel in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Willie Wilson. Burial followed at Kingstree Cemetery. Mr. Pressley, 44, died Tuesday, August 22, 2000, at his residence in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was born July 15, 1956, in Lane, a son of Mrs. Marie Pressley Sanders and David Green. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Kingstree, are: one daughter; two sisters, Mrs. Darlene Williams and Mrs. Mary Jane Wilson, both of Florida.
DANIEL GRAHAM -- Funeral services for Deacon Daniel Graham were held Sat., August 26, 2000, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Salters, conducted by the Rev. C. W. Green. Burial followed at the Crossroads Cemetery in Salters directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Deacon Graham, 61, died Sunday, August 20, 2000, at the Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. He was born May 16, 1939, in Kingstree, a son of the late Clarence Graham and Ila Tisdale Graham. He graduated from Tomlinson High School. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a deacon in 1969. He also served as the vice president of the gospel and senior choirs; advisor of the Men and Women Day Committee; Sunday school teacher, superintendent of the Sunday school, treasurer for the Sunday school convention of the Jerusalem Association; Past Worshipful Master of Woodstock Lodge No. 45; member of Williamsburg Chapter No. 341, Order of Eastern Star. He was a farmer with C. G. & C. Farms, former Deputy Coroner of Williamsburg County and an employee of Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. He was married to the late Daisey Green Graham. Survivors are: his wife, Dorothy M. Graham of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Rochelle Annette Levine of Charlotte, NC; Paulette Gamble of Hyattsville, MD; and Tiffany McElveen of Salters; two sons, Daniel Lerone Graham of Kingstree; and Jerry Patrick of Rochester, NY; two step-children, Michael Murray of Jacksonville, NC; and Mrs. Keisha Lesaine of Manning; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Williams and Ola Graham, both of Washington, DC; and Lou Ella McBride of Woodbridge, VA; three brothers, William Graham of Ridgeville; Clarence Lee Graham of Salters; Calvin Graham of Columbia; and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Fannie H. Murray of Manning.
ANNIE BELL BRADLEY -- Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Bell "Mamie" Hugee Bradley were held Friday, August 25, 2000, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist church in Salters, conducted by the Rev. Levern O. Brown. Burial followed in Salters Cemetery in Salters directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Bradley, 89, died Wed., August 23, 2000, in the Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. She was born November 1, 1910, in Salters, the daughter of the late James Hugee and Laura Moore Hugee. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Usher Board and was a deaconess. She was married to the late John Henry Bradley. Survivors are: one son, James Bradley, Jr. of Salters; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Bradley Izzard and Mrs. Dora Mae Bradley Johnson, both of Salters; and a niece she reared as her own, Mrs. Evelyn Hugee Cathy of Salters.
JOHN W. EADDY, JR. -- John Wilford Eaddy, Jr., 75, husband of Tora Isabel Tucker Eaddy, died Sept. 3, 2000, at his residence in Greeleyville. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning, conducted by the Rev. C. S. Salter. Burial followed in the Clarendon Memorial Gardens in Manning. Born May 13, 1925, in Lake City, he was a son of the late John Wilford Eaddy, Sr. and the late Senora Cox Eaddy. He was a retired foreman from Albany Felt in St. Stephen. He also worked with Greeleyville Hardware. He was a member of Deep Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church in Manning. Survivors, in addition to his wife of Greeleyville, are: one son, Randy Eaddy of Greeleyville; four daughters, Carolyn Thames of Manning; Gwen Cubbage of Aiken; Irma Brockington of Kingstree; and Virginia Jackson of Ocean Springs, MS; two brothers, Rhudarph Eaddy of Kingstree; and Willard Trise Eaddy of Andrews; and five sisters, Marguerite Tobias, Genevieve Richburg and Travis Hodge of Greeleyville; Patricia Tisdale of Kingstree; and Rita Contant of Summerton; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
