Posted By: GenealogyBuff.com MARY LOU CARRAWAY -- Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lou Nelson Carraway were held July 5, 2000, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Salters, conducted by the Rev. C. W. Green and the Rev. Carl Shaw. Burial followed in the Crossroads Cemetery in Salters directed by Redmond-Richardson. Mrs. Carraway, 70, died Thursday, June 29, 2000, at the Jewish Home for the Aged in New Haven, CT. She was born July 6, 1929, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Richard and Clara Prince Nelson. She was a member of Black River Baptist Church. She was married to the late James Carraway, Sr. Survivors are: three daughters, Mrs. Clara Ann Woods and Mary Lee Carraway, both of New Haven, CT; and Mrs. Elsie Clark of Myrtle Beach; four sons, James Carraway, Jr. and Dennis Carraway, both of Kingstree; Louis Carraway of Middletown, CT; and Walter Carraway of New Haven, CT; and two sisters, Mrs. Queen Ester Cooper of Boston, MA; and Mrs. Mary Catherine McFadden of Salters.
LIZZIE MAE MULDROW -- Funeral services for Lizzie Mae Muldrow were held Monday, July 3, 2000, at North Kingstree Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Standy McCray and the Rev. Wilbur Burgess. Burial followed at Springbank Cemetery in Kingstree directed by Samuels and Richardson Funeral Home. Ms. Muldrow, 78, died June 29,2000 at her residence in Lake City. She was born May 12, 1922, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Edward and Harriet Ann Burgess Muldrow. She was a member of Sandy Grove Baptist Church. Survivors are: two sons, John Edward Muldrow and Jerry Muldrow, both of Lake City; two daughters, Letha McFadden of Lake City; and Ida Muldrow of Philadelphia, PA; and one brother, Sam Muldrow of Hebron.
MACEO WILSON -- Funeral services for Maceo Wilson were held Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Frank V. James. Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mr. Wilson died July 1, 2000, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. He was born August 13, 1924, in Williamsburg County, the son of the late Pickney Wilson and Lula Hamlet Wilson. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Survivors are: his wife, Lida J. Wilson; two sons, Frank W. Wilson and Sam Wilson, both of Kingstree; one daughter, Elizabeth Wilson of Kingstree; and two sisters, Ethel Flagler of Kingstree; and Ulyses Dukes of Durham, NC.
FRANCIS LESESNE -- Francis Fischer (Frank) Lesesne, 93, died Monday, July 3, 2000, in Summerville. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Lesesne were held July 5, 2000, at New Market Cemetery in Greeleyville directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mr. Lesesne was born in Bay Minette, AL in 1907, a son of Katherine Habenicht and Charles H. Lesesne. He was a graduate of Clemson University, class of 1928. He served as a captain in the Army during World War II in the China-Burma-India Theatre. He retired from the US Department of Agriculture-Soil Conservation Service and also retired as plantation manager for Longlands Plantation in Greeleyville. He was an Elder Emeritus at McDowell Presbyterian Church in Greeleyville. Surviving is his wife, Kathleen Smith Lesesne of Summerville.
REV. CAREY DUKES, SR. -- The Rev. Carey Dukes, Sr., 58, husband of Carolyn Casselman Dukes of Summerville, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at his residence. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at Summerville Baptist Church. Burial followed in Dorchester Memory Gardens in Summerville directed by James A. Dyal Funeral Home. He was born February 22, 1942, in Williamsburg County, a son of Alice T. Dukes of Greeleyville and the late Weakus Stokes Dukes. He attended The Baptist College. He was a circulation department district manager for the Post and Courier newspaper. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Goose Creek. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Greeleyville, are: his wife, Carolyn Casselman Dukes of Summerville; one son, Carey Dukes, Jr. of Marietta, GA; and two daughters, Karen D. Mathews and Donna D. Readett, both of Summerville.
JAMES I. GEDDINGS, SR. -- James Ivey Geddings, Sr., 85, died Friday, July 7, 2000, in a Kingstree nursing home. Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, July 9, 2000, in Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mr. Geddings was born in Sumter County, a son of the late William C. and Dora Christmas Geddings. He was a retired farmer and merchant. He was a Baptist and a lifetime member of Inglesby Masonic Lodge in Greeleyville. Survivors are: two daughters, Carolyn Brown G. Joye and Cornelia G. Bell, both of Kingstree; two sons, James I. Gedding, Jr. of Ladson; and William E. Geddings of Lane; two brothers, Dewey Geddings of Lane; and Ernest Geddings of James Island; and two sisters, Frances G. McCutchen and Elizabeth G. Dennis, both of Columbia.
ROBIN WILLIAMSON LONG -- Robin Denise Williamson Long, 37, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, in Kingstree. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 8, 2000, in Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mrs. Long was born in Williamsburg County, a daughter of Peggy Tyler Williamson and Otto F. Williamson. She was a graduate of Williamsburg Academy and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to her parents of Kingstree, are: two daughters, Jessica Wade Long and Jamie Rene Long, both of Cades; one brother, Brad Williamson of Kingstree; and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Louisa C. Tyler of Kingstree.
REV. WILMOT SINGLETARY -- Funeral services for the Rev. Wilmot "Will" Singletary were held Sunday, July 16, 2000, at Sandridge Believer's Holiness Church in Kingstree, conducted by Elder Carl Williams, and Bishop O.D. Fulton. Burial followed in the Singletary Cemetery in Kingstree directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. The Rev. Singletary, 81, a retired machine operator with Kodak, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at the home of his daughter. He was born September 24, 1918, the son of the late Alford and Lizzie Mae Nelson Singletary in Kingstree. He was a member of Sandridge Believers¹ Holiness Church. Survivors are: five daughters, Mrs. Katrina L. Davis, Connie Bradley and Mrs. Stevie Griffin, all of Kingstree; Lillian Thomas and Janice Bradley, both of Rochester, NY; ten sisters, Patsy Singletary, Mrs. Juanita McClary and Mrs. Letha Burrows, all of Rochester, NY; Mrs. Peggy Fulton and Mrs. Elizabeth Fulton, both of Norwalk, CT; Mrs. Mary Sue Fulton of Lincoln, DE; Elder Annie Mae Bradley and Mrs. Ethel McCullough, both of Kingstree; Mrs. Louise Fulton of Durham, NC; and Mrs. Betty Floyd of Charleston.
BARBARA JEAN ROBINSON -- Funeral services for Barbara Jean Robinson were held Monday, July 17, 2000, at Ranzie Grove Baptist Church in Salters, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Herman Gibson, Jr. Burial followed at St. Mary A.M.E. Churchyard Cemetery in Salters directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mrs. Robinson died July 11, 2000, at her residence in Salters, the daughter of the late Vivian McCrea Robinson Henry and Frank Robinson. She was a member of Ranzie Grove Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Kingstree Senior High School. She was employed as a supervisor with the Ocean Plaza Hotel. Survivors are: four brothers, Robert Lee Robinson and Jeffery Robinson, both of Philadelphia, PA; Matthew Robinson of Charleston; and Clifford Henry of Trio; and two sisters, Nadine Robinson of Georgetown; and Marsha Robinson of Philadelphia, PA.
EDWARD HARRELL -- Rogers Edward Harrell, Jr., 51, died Friday, July 14, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Funeral services for Mr. Harrell were held Monday, July 17, 2000, in the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. Burial followed at Kingstree Memorial Gardens directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mr. Harrell was born in Kingstree, a son of Mrs. Marguerite Craven Harrell and the late Rogers E. Harrell, Sr. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and The Citadel. He was an associate of M.A. Hanna Co. in Kingstree for over 25 years and was currently serving on the Kingstree Town Council. He was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Kingstree, are: his wife, Esther Montgomery Harrell of Kingstree; one son, Rogers Edward Harrell, III, of Kingstree; one daughter, Laura Blakely Harrell of Kingstree; one brother, Robert D. Harrell of Kingstree; and two sisters, Alice H. Kellahan of Kingstree; and Elizabeth Harrell of Mt. Pleasant.
