Redmond Memorial Chapel in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Talbert Dickson. Burial followed at St. John Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Greeleyville directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Graham, 37, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at the Providence Hospital in Columbia. She was born September 15, 1962, in Manning, a daughter of Mrs. Mary Ellen Burgess Mack Howard and the late Freddie Mack. She graduated from Lake City High School in 1981. She was a member of Saint Mary United Methodist Church in Kingstree. She was married to the late Billy Junior Graham. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Irvington, NJ, are: one son, Steven Christopher Graham of Lake City; two brothers, Ernest Kerry Mack of Ft. Wayne, IN; and Gordon Fitzgerald Mack of Greeleyville;...
DORA STONE -- Mrs. Dora Flowers Stone, 87, widow of Ansel Cleo Stone, Sr., died Thursday, July 20, 2000, in a Florence hospital. Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, July 22, 2000, in the Old Landing Cemetery in Pamplico directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Mrs. Stone was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late W. H. "Bud" and Mattie Poston Flowers. She was a homemaker and member of New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors are: three sons, A. C. Stone, Jr. and Dona T. Stone, both of Florence; and Harold Stone of Scranton; two daughters, Mattie Gause of Kingstree; and Letha McDaniel of Lake City; and one brother, John Bunyon Flowers of Aiken.
CHERYL WOODARD -- Cheryl Lynn Brewer Woodard, 25, wife of Kevin Woodard, died Sunday at MUSC in Charleston. Funeral services will be held at a later date in NC. Born in Big Sandy, TX, she was a daughter of Twyleen Purdy Gibson and the late Don Branson Brewer. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Selma, NC, are: her husband, Kevin Woodard; her stepfather, Maynard Gibson of Selma; one daughter, Sarah Daniel Woodard of Greeleyville; two sisters, Cynthia Gayl Morris and Myra Eason, both of Selma; and two brothers, Don Branson Brewer, III and Steven Brewer, both of Selma.
DR. LORIE MOORE -- Dr. Lorie Wilson Moore, 63, died Monday, July 31, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. Graveside services were held Wednesday, August 2, 2000, in the Cook Cemetery directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Dr. Moore was born in Lake City, a son of the late Bert J. and Annie Mae McCutchen Moore. He was a graduate of Davidson College and the Medical University of Charleston and served his internship and pathology residency at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL. He was certified in clinical and anatomic pathology and practiced medicine in NC, SC and FL. He was a member of Four Oaks United Methodist Church, NC. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Richardson Moore of Four Oaks, NC; three daughters, Martha Anne Moore Vitulli of Tampa, FL; Sarah Kristen Moore Stewart and Jennifer McCutchen Moore, both of Four Oaks, NC; and one son, Lorie Wilson Moore, Jr. of Four Oaks, NC.
WILBUR RAY LOOKADOO -- Wilbur Ray Lookadoo, 78, died Tuesday, August 1, 2000, at his residence. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 3, 2000, at the Kingstree United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Kingstree Memorial Gardens directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mr. Lookadoo was born in NC, a son of the late Fred B. Lookadoo and Bessie Blanton Lookadoo. He was retired from Santee Electric Co-op in Kingstree. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of Kingstree United Methodist Church. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Garnetta Moose Lookadoo of Kingstree; two sons, Gary Lookadoo of Summerville; and Steve Lookadoo of Conway; and two brothers, Charles A. Lookadoo of Hickory; and Jimmy Lookadoo of Newton, NC.
ADDIE KIRBY PLAYER -- Addie Kirby Player, 90, widow of E. A. (Ashby) Player, died Friday, August 4, 2000, in a Marion hospital. Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, August 6, 2000, in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mrs. Player was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Lambert M. and Estelle Brown Player. She was a graduate of Florence County schools and was a retired sales clerk. Survivors are: one daughter, Carolyn P. Gudenas of Salters; and one sister, Mrs. Ruby K. Cussa of Florence.
ANNA GRACE KENNEDY -- Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Grace Hanna Kennedy were held Thursday, August 3, 2000, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Willie Wilson. Burial followed in Kingstree Cemetery in Kingstree directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Kennedy, 76, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at the Kingstree Nursing Facility. She was born December 25, 1923, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Robbie Hanna and Ethel Wallace Hanna. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She was married to the late James Kennedy. Survivors are: one son, Franklin Kennedy of Kingstree; one daughter, Gloria Kennedy of Kingstree; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth H. Fulton of Kingstree; and Mrs. Bertha Lee Footman of Philadelphia, PA.
MARVIN DUKES -- Funeral services for Marvin Dukes were held Wednesday, August 2, 2000, at St. Mark A.M.E. Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. C. R. Vanderhorst. Burial followed in the church's cemetery directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Dukes, 74, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at Carolinas Hospital System-Florence. He was born June 16, 1916, in Kingstree, a son of the late Tom Dukes and Ella Scott Dukes. He was formerly employed by Bethlehem Steel in Pennsylvania and he was also a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Mark A.M.E. Church, where he served on the Senior Steward Board, Building Fund Committee and the Farmer's Aide Lodge. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Della McCullough; five sons, Thomas J. Dukes, the Rev. Olin Dukes, Sr., Sylvester Dukes and Soloman Dukes, all of Kingstree; and Joseph Dukes of Lane; one grandson reared as his own, Sylvester Dukes, Jr. of Kingstree; and two daughters, Mrs. Roberta Brown of Kingstree; and Mrs. Sarah Smith of Greeleyville.
MARGART KINDER -- Margaret I. (Boodie) Kinder, 84, died Wednesday, August 9, 2000, in the Presbyterian Home in Florence. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 13, 2000, at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. Burial followed at Williamsburg Cemetery directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Miss Kinder was born in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Virgil Kinder, Sr. and Isabel Weeks Kinder. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and was retired from Southern Cities Oil Co. he was a charter member of the Kingstree Pilot Club, a former member of the Kingstree Town Council, a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school for more than 35 years and was honored by the Kingstree Chamber of Commerce as Citizen of the Year. Surviving is one brother, Wesley Kinder of Honolulu, HI.
DEXTER MARTIN -- Funeral services for Dexter Martin were held Friday, August 11, 2000, at Trinity Holiness Church in Kingstree, conducted by the Rev. Linwood Cooper. Burial followed at Kingstree Cemetery directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mr. Martin died Saturday, August 5, 2000, at his residence in Kingstree. He was born July 16, 1946, in Chicago, IL, the son of Sonnie Martin and the late Mrs. Hazel Martin. He joined the US Navy in the 1960s. He was a former employee of the city of Charleston Fire Dept. and worked as a chef at the Silverspoon Restaurant in Kingstree. He was a member of Trinity Holiness Church, where he served as a trustee and on the Usher Board. He was a member of Trinity Care Group. Survivors, in addition to his father of Chicago, IL, are: his wife, Cynthia M. Martin of Charleston, SC; one son, Dexter Travis Martin of Charleston, SC; four brothers, Sonnie Martin of Kingstree, SC; Johnny Martin of Chicago, IL; Sherman Martin of Chicago Heights, IL; and Joseph Martin of Hammond, IN; and three sisters, Juanita King of Park Forest, IL; Yvonne Gray of University Park, IL; and Hazel Ridgell of Hammond, IN.
