John Clark

YORK - Mr. John "Shot" Lewis Clark, 67, of 2136 Charlotte Highway died Monday, May 10, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Thomas McPhail officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Clark was a son of the late Phillip Clark and Annie Mae Thomas Clark. He was the former owner of Clark's Grocery. He was an elder at Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Agnes Chamber Clark; his son, Steve Clark of York; two daughters, Betsy Clark Chapman of Belton and Kimberly Clark Smith of Hatteras, N.C.; two brothers, Tom Clark of York and Jimmy Clark of Camden; his sister, Sara Clark Causby of Asheville, N.C.; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.

Lolann Kennedy

MATTHEWS, N.C. - Mrs. Lolann Harris Kennedy, 72, of Matthews died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Union Regional Medical Center.

The memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday at McEwen Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel in Monroe, N.C., with the Rev. Leonard Stadler officiating.

A native of Dallas, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Vivian Rogers Harris.

Surviving are her husband, William Chunn Kennedy Sr. of Lake Wylie; her son, William Chunn Kennedy Jr. of Lake Wylie; her daughter, Anne Kennedy of Matthews; and two grandsons.

Robert Walker Sr.

FORT MILL - Mr. Robert "Bobby" Franklin Walker Sr., 56, of 1424 Banks St. died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Meadow Haven/Beverly Health Care in Rock Hill.

The graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Zoar United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Princeton Terry officiating.

A native of Fort Mill, Mr. Walker was a son of the late Robert Jackson Walker Jr. and Elsie Threat Walker. He was a graduate of Fort Mill High School, a member of American Legion Post No. 43 and served in the National Guard.

Surviving are his wife, Tammy Walker; his son, Robert F. Walker Jr. of York; his stepson, Joseph Collins of Fort Mill; his half-sister, Susan Harvell of Fort Mill; and three half-brothers, Ronald Jennings of Mount Holly, N.C., Donald Jennings of Lincolnton, N.C., and R.J. Walker III of Fort Mill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Fort Mill Funeral Home.

Ada Carroll

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mrs. Ada Chisholm Carroll, 78, of 1803 Clark St. died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Avante of Charlotte Nursing Home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Lovely Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Al Davis officiating. Burial will be at Hollywood Cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Carroll was a daughter of the late Robert Chisholm and Mattie Smalls Chisholm. She was a member of Lovely Hill Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board.

Surviving are four sons, Bobby Carroll, Willie James Carroll, William Joe Carroll and Roger Carroll, all of Gastonia; two daughters, Betty Brown of Gastonia and Mattie Sanders of Rock Hill; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m. today at Costner Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

William Clark

LANCASTER - Mr. William Beckwith "Beck" Clark, 77, of 3628 J.B. Denton Road died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held later.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Clark was a son of the late John Thomas Clark and Julia Beckham Clark. Mr. Clark was a master steam fitter for the Uniroyal Co. of Chicopee, Mass. He was a member of Mochaw Legion of the Moose in Chicopee Falls, Mass., a scout master for St. John's Catholic Church in Northampton, Mass., and president of the Hampshire Sportsman Club. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are his wife, Victoria Jackimczyk Clark; his daughter, Ellen Brazauskas of Alpine, N.Y.; his brother, S.E. Clark of Kershaw; his sister, Oletta Mahaffey of Florence; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge.

Jack Helms

FORT MILL - Mr. Jack Wingate Helms, 78, of 9929 Sherril Lane died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Harris Hospice Center at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral will be private.

A native of Mecklenburg County, Mr. Helms was a son of the late Samuel L. Helms and Ruth Hyman Helms. He was an U.S. Marine veteran of World War II. Mr. Helms was retired from Lance Packing Co. After retirement, he pursued his artistic talents.

Surviving are his wife, Myra Helms; three daughters, Maria H. Walker of Oxford, N.C., Julie H. Marshall of Fort Mill and Marianne H. Barrett of Virginia Beach, Va.; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill.

Memorials may be made to Harris Hospice Center, Presbyterian Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 33549, Charlotte, NC 28233.

Nancy Quinton

CHESTER - Mrs. Nancy Paul Quinton, 88, of 915 Davis Drive died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Chester County Nursing Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Barron Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Quinton was a daughter of the late John C. Paul and Elizabeth Bryce Paul. She was the widow of James Wylie Quinton. A retired registered nurse, Mrs. Quinton worked at Pryor Hospital and Chester County Hospital for more than 50 years. She was a graduate of Mount Zion Institute in Winnsboro and received her nurses training at Chester's Pryor Hospital. She was a member of Chester ARP Church and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Tarboro, N.C., for more than 50 years.

Surviving are cousins.

Memorials may be made to Chester ARP Church, P.O. Box 174, Chester, SC 29706.

The family will be at the home of Margaret Lucas, 909 Davis Drive, Chester.
