Justin Parker

ROCK HILL - Justin Blake Parker, the infant son of Robert William Parker and Misty Marie Mericle Meyer, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at the home, 2503 Mangum Road.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Jerry McNair officiating.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Robert Parker Jr. of Rock Hill; two sisters, Brantley Leanne Meyer of Rock Hill and Whitney Dawn Brock of York; his paternal grandparents, Robert E. Parker, Beverly Sue McKenzie and Peggy Dianne Parker, all of Rock Hill; and his maternal grandparents, Van and Kathi Robinson of Rock Hill and William Meyer of Anaheim, Calif.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Merle Parry

PAULINE - Mrs. Merle Chitwood Parry, 63, of Pauline died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at her residence.

A graveside memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Springhill Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Herb Franklin officiating.

A native of Polk County, N.C., Mrs. Parry was the daughter of the late Robert B. Chitwood and Betty Edwards Chitwood.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her daughter, Kim McFarland of Tryon; five sisters, Frances Whitesell of Rock Hill, Anise McSwain of Spartanburg, Christine Peeler of Campobello, Margie Giles of Inman and Julia Lancaster of Pauline; four brothers, William Chitwood of Rock Hill, John Chitwood of Mississippi, Preston Chitwood of Mayo and Dean Chitwood of Utah; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, 1335 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, SC 29736.

Mae Roddey

FORT LAWN - Mrs. Mae Howe Roddey, 89, of Fort Lawn died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at Chester Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Elmwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Ted Hodges officiating.

A native of Winnsboro, Mrs. Roddey was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Howe and Evie Mae Proctor Howe. She was the widow of Leonidas C. Roddey. A member of Fort Lawn Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Roddey was retired from Hare's Ready to Wear Clothing Store in Great Falls.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Allen Schaefer

FORT MILL - Mr. Allen Louis Schaefer, 56, died Friday, April 16, 1999, in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

A memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. on May 13 at Calvary Church chapel on Pineville-Matthews Road in Charlotte. The funeral was April 23 at First Presbyterian Church in Roseville, Calif.

Mr. Schaefer was a native of Ontario, Ore., and was the son of Louis Schaefer and Mildred Schaefer. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1960 and obtained a business degree from Washington State University in 1967. He was employed by Hyster Co. for 25 years. In 1992, he joined Wrenn-Brungart in Charlotte, where he was the vice president and division general manager.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Schaefer; two daughters, Ann Marie Estacio of Shingle Springs, Calif., and Kristina Hengst of Auburn, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Church building fund, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road, Charlotte, NC 28226 or the Diabetes Association.

Boyce Sinclair

LANCASTER - Mr. Boyce Atlas Sinclair, 80, of 2708 Old Hickory Road died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at High Point Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Stuart Snow officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Sinclair was a son of the late Atlas Boyce and Patricia Lowery Sinclair. He was the widower of Helen Knight Sinclair. He was a member of High Point Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Sinclair was retired from the South Carolina State Forestry Commission and operated the Riverside Fire Tower for 22 years.

Surviving are three sons, Arthur Lewis Sinclair of Chester, Homer Sinclair and Bill Sinclair, both of Lancaster; three daughters, Betty L. Bailey, Josephine Jenkins and Carolyn Weaver, all of Lancaster; his sister, Elizabeth Glawson of Monroe, N.C.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Memorials may be made to High Point Free Will Baptist Church, 2095 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Jannie Snipes

MYRTLE BEACH - Mrs. Jannie Adams Snipes, 89, formerly of Lancaster, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at Myrtle Beach Manor.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Mahaffey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne Walton officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Snipes was a daughter of the late Joseph Elmore Adams and Lydia Floread Bowers Adams. She was the widow of George Odell Snipes. She was a retired employee of Springs Industries and a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving are her son, Jack Snipes of Sacramento, Calif.; her daughter, Betty S. Lucas of Myrtle Beach; her sister, Annie Gaskin of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

James Correll Sr.

WHITE ROCK - Mr. James Leonard Correll Sr., 83, formerly of Inman died Friday, April 30, 1999, at the Lowman Home.

Cryptside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Roselawn Mausoleum, with the Rev. Bert Sistare officiating.

A native of Boiling Springs, he was a son of the late James Marshall Correll and Annie Foster Correll. He was a retired automotive parts salesman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Inman United Methodist Church and served as a member of the S.C. United Methodist Annual Conference for 10 years. He served on the Inman Town Council for several years and was a charter member of the Inman Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife, Willie Mae Burns Correll; his daughter, Judy C. Buchanan of West Columbia; his son, the Rev. James L. Correll Jr. of York; four sisters, Connie C. West, Louise C. Howell, Mildred C. Fox and Hazel C. Bennett, all of Inman; his brother, Clyde A. Correll of Inman; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman and at other times at the home of his sister, Hazel C. Bennett, 28 S. Main St., Inman.

Vernon Catoe

LANCASTER - Mr. Vernon Catoe, 73, of 1008 Hudson St. died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Gregory officiating. Burial will be at West Side Cemetery.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Catoe was a son of the late Wesley Burrell Catoe and Oddie Talbert Catoe. He was retired from the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Glenwood Heights Baptist Church and was the retired owner-operator of the Cedar Creek Amoco Bait and Tackle Shop.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Dabney Catoe; and his brother, Claude Catoe of Hannibal, Mo.

Memorials may be made to Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, 600 Nichols Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge.

Rosie Foster

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Rosie Lee Foster, 74, died Friday, April 30, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home, with the Rev Tommy Brazell officiating. Burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park.

A native of Mecklenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Amos Taylor and Fannie Mae Taylor. She was the widow of Leonard J. Foster.

Surviving are two sons, David Foster of Iron Station and Leonard Foster Jr. of Charlotte; two daughters, Barbara Helms and Linda Furr, both of Richburg; her brother, Thurman Miller; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home, 4431 Old Monroe Road, Matthews, N.C.
