Sylvia McCrimmen

CLARKTON, N.C. - Mrs. Sylvia White Kirkpatrick McCrimmen, formerly of Chester, died Monday, April 26, 1999, in Clarkton, N.C.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Clarkton, with the Rev. A.P. Floyd officiating. Another service will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Chester, with the Rev. Charles Pratt officiating. Burial will at the Gethsemane church cemetery.

A native of Chester, Mrs. McCrimmen was a daughter of the late Lorenda White and John White. She attended Chester County public schools and joined Gethsemane Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, James McCrimmen; two sons, William Kirkpatrick and Phillip Green, both of Chester; four daughters, Charlene Sabrec, Gertrude Worthy and Ronda Neal, all of Chester, and Sandra Harmon of Chester, Pa.; and her brother, Thaddus White of Chester, Pa.

The body may be viewed from noon to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road.

The body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The family will be at the home of Emma White, 103 Center St. Apt. 44, Chester.

Peggy Rippy

ROCK HILL - Ms. Peggy Alexander Hewett Rippy, 61, of 424 Maywood Drive died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dexter Lambert officiating. Burial will be private.

A native of Monroe, N.C., Ms. Rippy was a daughter of Sadie McManus Alexander of Rock Hill and the late Page Alexander. Ms. Rippy was a retiree of Frito Lay Inc. in Charlotte and worked with A&P Food Stores in Rock Hill for 23 years. She was a member of Grace Ministries Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother are Haynes R. Hewett of Calabash, N.C.; her son, Gregory Eston Hewett of Rock Hill; her daughter, Teresa Hewett Rice of Rock Hill; her brother, Bill Alexander of Rock Hill; her sister; Anne Winchester of Lancaster; and four grandchildren, Casey, Brandy, Amanda and Alex.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Grace Ministries building fund, 1511 Mount Holly Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Teresa Williams

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Teresa Lynn "Terrie" Boone Williams, 39, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church, with pastors Larry Williams and Carl Williams officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late William C. "Bill" Boone and Aileen Moore Boone. She was employed with Celanese Corp. and American Studios. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her husband, Billy R. Williams; her daughter, Shannon Marie Williams of Rock Hill; and her stepson, Billy R. Williams Jr. of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Terrie Williams Funeral Fund c/o Wolfe Funeral Home, 314 Spratt St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Caroline Arsenault

LANCASTER - Caroline Elizabeth Arsenault, infant daughter of Timothy James and Kendra Kae Raphael Arsenault died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A memorial service will be Saturday at Cornerstone Bible Church.

Surviving in addition to her parents are two brothers, Noah Taylor Arsenault and Josiah Jordan, both of Lancaster; her maternal grandparents, Ken and Judy Raphael of Lodi, Calif.; and her paternal grandfather, Arthur Joseph Arsenault Jr. of Inyokern, Calif.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge.

Robert Carey

FORT MILL - Mr. Robert G. Carey, 71, of 916 Cadogan Court died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home in Newtown, Pa. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Trenton, N.J.

A native of Trenton, Mr. Carey was a son of the late Thomas Carey and Miriam Jones Carey. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Carey lived in Fort Mill for six years and was formerly of Newtown. He retired as manager of the American Water Works of Yardley after 42 years. He was a member of the Yardley Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Washington Crossing Rotary Club. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Yardley Country Club for more than 16 years.

Surviving are his wife, Doris McIntyre Carey of Fort Mill; his son, Robert G. Carey Jr. of Levittown, Pa.; his daughter, Robin Breeman of Levittown; his stepson, Timothy Brown of Fairless Hills, Pa.; his stepdaughter, Kimberly Weinberg of Bristol, Pa.; his brother, Thomas Carey of Morrisville, Pa.; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home.

Vernon Catoe

LANCASTER - Mr. Vernon Catoe, 73, of 1008 Hudson St. died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Gregory officiating. Burial will be at West Side Cemetery.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Catoe was a son of the late Wesley Burrell Catoe and Oddie Talbert Catoe. He was retired from the Navy. He was a member of the Glenwood Heights Baptist Church and was the retired owner-operator of the Cedar Creek Amoco Bait and Tackle Shop.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Dabney Catoe; and his brother, Claude Catoe of Hannibal, Mo.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Marion Derrick

SALUDA - Mr. Marion Bankston Derrick, 66, of Route 3, Old Chappells Ferry Road died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at his home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Gassaway United Methodist Church cemetery.

A native of Saluda County, Mr. Derrick was a son of the late Fred William Derrick and Edith Banks Derrick. He was a graduate of Newberry College and received his master's degree from the University of South Carolina. He served in the Coast Guard and was a retired principal of Saluda Elementary School. He was church organist for Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, where he was a member, and Saluda Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are three brothers, John W. Derrick of Ware Shoals, the Rev. Allen Derrick of Richburg and Doyle Derrick of Charleston; and his sister, Annette Derrick of Saluda.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Ramey Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, new property fund, 103 N. Calhoun St., Saluda, SC 29138 or to the charity of one's choice.

James Galloway

ROCK HILL - Mr. James D. Galloway, 91, of 1330 India Hook Road died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Forest Hills Cemetery.

A native of Bishopville, Mr. Galloway was a son of the late James Dalton Galloway and Kathryn Jane Arail McCaskill Galloway. He was the widower of Marian Elizabeth Reames Galloway.

Mr. Galloway was a retired merchant and member of St. John's United Methodist Church and its men's Bible class. He was a member of Kiwanis Club and served on the boards of the YMCA, the Salvation Army and the Rock Hill Area Chamber of Commerce.

Surviving are his son, James D. Galloway Jr. of Rock Hill; his daughter, Mary Jane Galloway Quattlebaum of Greenville; his sister, Sara Ackerman of Columbia; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Westminster Towers Community Room.
