Betty McWatters

BLACKSTOCK - Mrs. Betty McCarley McWatters, 100, of 2317 Country Side Drive died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Concord Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Forrest Musselman and Dale Roddey officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Blackstock, Mrs. McWatters was the daughter of the late William M. McCollum and Nannie Jane Gordon McCollum. She was the widow of Sylvester McWatters. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are two daughters, Jessie M. Bagley and Margaret Douglas, both of Blackstock; her son, Wallace S. McWatters of Blackstock; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Concord Presbyterian Cemetery Fund, c/o of Sarah Brice, 12646 Highway 321 N., Blackstock, SC 29014.

Barron Funeral Home is in charge.

Ida Robinson

KERSHAW - Mrs. Ida Eason Robinson, 82, of 4506 Victory Road died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Revs. Robert Jeske and Randall Runion officiating. Burial will be at Kershaw City Cemetery.

A native of Monroe, N.C., Mrs. Robinson was the daughter of the late Sanford R. Eason and Sarah Tadlock Eason. She was the widow of Arthur Franklin Robinson. She was a member of the Flat Creek Baptist Church and retired from Springs Industries.

Surviving are two sons, James "Winkie" Robinson of Cheraw and Thomas W. Robinson of Kershaw; her daughter, Carolyn R. LeGrande of Kershaw; her brother, Parvin Eason of Ruby; seven grandchildren; 21 grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Memorials may be made to Kershaw City Cemetery, P.O. Box 1, Kershaw, SC 20967.

Joe Stewart

ROCK HILL - Mr. Joe Curtis Stewart of 1422 Bose Ave. died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Harmony United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Shuler officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Stewart was a native of Chester County. He was a supervisor of golf course maintenance. He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and attended the public schools of Chester County.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Williams; two sons, Dwayne Davis of Chester and Joey M. Stewart of the home; his stepson, Anthony Williams of Rock Hill; his father, Allen Wilson of Rock Hill; his mother, Sarah Elizabeth Stewart of Rock Hill; six brothers, James Stewart, David Stewart, Mark Wilson, Jody Wilson, Howard Wilson and Donnie Wilson, all of Rock Hill; 10 sisters, Beatrice Hyman of Columbia, Cora Boyd, Betty Stewart, Wanda Stewart, Debbie Agurs, Patricia Wilson, Trina Wilson, Susie Wilson, Ann Barnette and Mattie Caldwell, all of Rock Hill; and his step grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at the home and at 320 Marshall St.

The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Monday.

Mac Walker

LAKE WYLIE - Mr. Mac Nelson Walker, 80, of 603 Hamilton Harbor Drive died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

The memorial service will be 11 a.m. today at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Russ Brown officiating.

A native of Altamont, Ill., Mr. Walker was the son of John Henry Walker and Alice Hannah Eikenberry Walker. He was retired from Dow Chemical Co.

Surviving are his wife, Glenda Bottoms Walker; two daughters, Linda Gaertner of Lake Wylie and Nancy Hudock of Punxsutawney, Pa.; his sister, Patricia Hunt of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Johnny Barr Jr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Johnny Barr Jr., 48, of Hoyles Street died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at his home.

The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Prospect Baptist Church, with the Rev. C.B. Montgomery officiating. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Barr was a handyman at Farmer's Exchange. He was educated in York County public schools.

Survivors include his mother, Lois Cassell Barr of the home; his adopted brother, Frankie Brice of Rock Hill; and two sisters, Patricia Barr of Rock Hill and Deborah B. Hayden of Van Wyck.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Parker Funeral Home.

The body may be viewed from 2 to 8 tonight and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Ola Cairco

FORT MILL - Mrs. Ola Weaver Cairco, 95, of Fort Mill, died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.

Mrs. Cairco, a homemaker and member of the Fort Mill Church of God, was the widow of Floyd Cairco.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wolfe Funeral Home, Fort Mill.

Brenda Pride Edwards

RIVERDALE, Md. - Ms. Brenda Pride Edwards of Riverdale died Thursday, April 15, 1999.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Harmony United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Shuler officiating and the Rev. T.R. Jones assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Edwards attended the public school of York and Chester counties. She was a member of Second New St. Paul Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., and was employed by the Department of Defense for 17 years.

Surviving are her parents, Nathaniel and Ethel Agurs of Rock Hill and Robert Gladden Sr. of Richburg; her son, Charles E. Edwards Jr. of the home; her daughter, Carlette Johnson Miller of Silver Spring, Md.; five sisters, Kim Clayton of Rock Hill, Elsie Akinboboa of Upper Marlboro, Md., Gloria Gladden of Washington, D.C., Cathy Mobley of Fort Lawn and Dorothy Gladden of Richburg; seven brothers, Waymon Agurs of Charlotte, Bernard Agurs, Louis Agurs and Blaine Gladden of Rock Hill, Desmond Gladden of Washing-ton, D.C., and Roger Gladden and Robert Gladden of Richburg; and two grandchildren.

The body will be on view tonight from 7 to 8 at Robinson Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The family will receive friends at 319 Rich St.

John Barr Jr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. John Barr Jr., 48, of 1122 Hoyle St. died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at his home.

Arrangements will be announced by Parker Funeral Home.

Lillia Gilliam

UNION - Mrs. Lillia Gilliam, 86, died Friday, April 16, 1999.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the St. Paul Baptist Church, Union, with the Rev. Isaiah Harvey officiating. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery.

Mrs. Gilliam was born in Fairfield County. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Roosevelt Gilliam of Lancaster; her brother, Clarence Trapp of Detroit, Mich.; three grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church, 912 Clinton Ave., Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to the Mama Lillia Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1114, Lancaster, SC 29721, in lieu of flowers.

McMullen Funeral Home, Lancaster, is in charge.
