DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. - Mrs. Betty Jane Burk Keiser, 74, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church in York, with the Rev. Thomas McPhail officiating. Burial will be at Boca Raton Cemetery in Boca Raton, Fla.
Born in Bethlehem, Pa., Mrs. Keiser was a vocalist for the Stanley J. Keiser Orchestra. She was the widow of Stanley J. Keiser.
Surviving are her son, Whinburt H. "Whimpy" Reed of York; her brother, Jimmy Burk of Albany, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church, 1184 N. Shiloh Road, York, SC 29745.

CHESTER - Mrs. Eloise Babcock McLurkin of 140 Babcock Drive died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, in Detroit.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Gore's Funeral Home.

CHESTER - Mrs. Eloise Babcock McLurkin, 81, of 140 Babcock Drive died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at Grace Hospital in Detroit.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Metropolitan AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Cordell Jenkins officiating and elder Carl Glenn and Rev. Arthur Randolph Jr. assisting. Burial will be at Benson Cemetery.
A Chester native, Mrs. McLurkin was a graduate of Brainerd High School and Brainerd Junior College. She was a member of Metropolitan AME Zion Church, where she was a member of the Christian Education Board, missionary society, senior musical choir and Stewardess Board No. 2. She was a member of Magna Klumba and worked at the voting polls for over 25 years. She was the widow of Floyd McLurkin.
Surviving are two brothers, David H. Babcock of Detroit and Futrey Babcock of Augusta, Ga.
The family will receive friends at the home.
The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Gore's Funeral Home is in charge.

Margaret Padgett
GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Margaret Louise Green Padgett, 74, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, at the home of her daughter.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Doug Irvin and C.O. Belk Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Born in Great Falls, Mrs. Padgett was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, where she previously served as Training Union director. She was a graduate of Great Falls High School and previously served as Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts. She was the widow of Robert Lee Padgett.
Surviving are her son, Roger Padgett of Naples, Fla.; two daughters, Debra Brazell of Fort Lawn and April Padgett of Rock Hill; her sister, Nellie G. Roof of Great Falls; and 11 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to York County Hospice, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Jessie Price
GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Jessie Mae Eudy Price, 76, of 6784 Hightower Road died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Rumford officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Born in Keysville, Va., Mrs. Price was a retired waitress and was a member of Heath Chapel United Methodist Church. She was educated in Chester County schools.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Price of Lancaster and Donnie Price of Fort Lawn; her daughter, Linda Lawson of Fort Lawn; two sisters, Louise Hall and Jessie Mae Helms, both of Great Falls; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home is in charge.

Willie Mae Shivers
CHESTER - Mrs. Willie Mae Gray Shivers, 83, of the Meadow Haven Rehabilitation and Specialty Care Center, formerly of 108 Dye St. in Chester, died Thursday at the center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home.
The family is at home of Eduardo Merdock, 134 Bailey St.

Cora Smith
COWPENS - Mrs. Cora Patricia Roberts Smith, 50, of 155 Johnson Road died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at Mary Blacks Hospital in Spartanburg.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Mount Tabor Baptist Church, with the Revs. C. Dennis Rector, Hazel Logan, William McClain, Lee Byers and James W. Sanders Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
A York County native, Mrs. Smith was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Cowpens. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School of York, class of 1965. She was employed by Michelin Tire of Spartanburg.
Surviving are her husband, Bobby Lee Smith of the home; her son, Bradley Tyron Smith of the home; two brothers, Samuel R. Roberts of Sharon and Paul L. Roberts of Hickory Grove; four sisters, Lois Feemster, Earlene Roberts, Dylater Gill and Arbydella Smith, all of Hickory Grove; her half-sister, Margaret Burris of Newark, N.J.; and her adopted sister, Rosena Miller of Spartanburg.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 tonight at Foster Funeral Home in Gaffney.
The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Saturday.

James Thomasson Jr.
LANCASTER - Mr. James Thomas Thomasson Jr., 90, of 933 Meadow Drive died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery.
Born in Lancaster County, Mr. Thomasson was a 1931 graduate of Wofford College and served in the Army during World War II, retiring as a major. He was employed by the Lancaster Telephone Co. for 42 years where he was assistant manager, secretary and treasurer. He was a charter member of the Lancaster Jaycees and a former Rotarian. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was treasurer, a member of the administrative board and a member of the Men's Bible Class for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Nell Connors Thomasson and his brother, Pollard F. Thomasson of Charlotte.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Mahaffey Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Silas Brown
LANCASTER - Mr. Silas Robert Brown, 79, of 1520 Summitt Ave. died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Revs. Allen Brazzell and Mike Price officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
Born in Spartanburg, Mr. Brown was retired from Springs Industries' spinning department at the Lancaster Plant. He was a charter member of Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was choir leader and a deacon for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Quinn Brown of the home; his son, Barry Lynn Brown of Lancaster; his daughter, Deborah Fowler of Lancaster; his brother, David L. Brown of Seneca; three sisters, Ruth Waldrop and Mae Largent, both of York, and Ann Bratanick of Cleveland, Ohio; four granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church, missions, 1824 Airport Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Talton Chisholm Sr.
CHESTER - Mr. Talton Chisholm Sr., 82, of 210 Flint St. Apt. N-4, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at Chester County Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Brown's Chapel AME Zion Church, with the Rev. O.L. Smith officiating and the Revs. Anthony Commadore and George B. Guy Jr. assiting. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Mr. Chisholm was a member of the Brown's Chapel AME Zion Church and was a member of the hymn choir. He was retired from the city of Chester. He was the widower of Julia Graham Chisholm.
Surviving are four nieces, Sarah L. McCleave, Katherine M. Brown and Sarah Freeman, all of McConnells, and Mary F. Chisholm of Charlotte; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of his daughter-in-law Henrietta Chisholm, 605 Unique St., Chester.
The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
King's Funeral home is in charge.

ROCK HILL - Mr. James Cloud of 156 Adnah Church Road, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Robinson Funeral Home.

ROCK HILL - Mr. James Cloud of 156 Adnah Church Road died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Mount Zion AME Zion Church No. 1 in Landsford, with the Rev. Alan Stewart officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Born in Chester County, Mr. Cloud retired from the city of Charlotte after many years. He was a member of Mount Zion AME Zion Church No. 1.
Surviving are five sisters, Hanna Bailey and Martha Hill, both of Charlotte, Mozell Heath of Rock Hill, Alberta Dixon of Huntersville, N.C., and Pauline Baxter of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and his sister-in-law, Margaret Cloud, with whom he lived.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today at the church.
Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Jimmie Cloud Sr.
FORT LAWN - Mr. Jimmie L. Cloud Sr., 78, of 5415 Baxter Drive died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at United Pentecostal Church in Rock Hill, with the Rev. D. L. Erickson officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Lawn Cemetery.
Born in Chester County, Mr. Cloud was a member of United Pentecostal Church and was retired from Morrison Textile Machinery. He was the widower of Ruby Lee Boulware Cloud.
Surviving are four sons, Thomas Jordan of Charlotte, Earl A. Cloud of Great Falls, and Donald G. Cloud and Rodney Cloud, both of Fort Lawn; eight daughters, Frances Crawford, Tammy Lineberger, Gloria Williams, Betty Williams and Angela Foster, all of Fort Lawn, Annie Patterson, Janett Boulware and Margaret Graham, all of Great Falls; her sister, Eunice Ingram of Baltimore, Md.; two granddaughters that he reared, Carla Howze and Tasha Cloud; 44 other grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at King's Funeral Home.
The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Sunday.
