John Robinson

ROCK HILL - Mr. John Robinson, 82, of 1110 McDow Drive died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Gallant Church of God, with the Rev. Dennis Buchanan officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in York.

Mr. Robinson was a retired textile worker and a member of Mount Gallant Church of God. He was the widower of Mildred Mae Dean Blackwell Robinson.

Surviving are three sons, Johnny B. Robinson of Rock Hill, Buford Robinson of Monroe, N.C., and Danny Ray Robinson of McConnells; four daughters, Mildred Taylor of the home, Marlene Brookshire Hinson of Rock Hill, Connie Mungo of McConnells, and Sue Rabon of Catawba; three brothers, Glenn Robinson and Rob Robinson, both of York, and Sam Robinson Jr. of Clover; five sisters, Mary West, Annie Dorsett and Willie Mae Neil, all of York, Virginia Benfield of Sharon, and Ida Belle Porter of Rock Hill; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home.

Memorials may be sent to Mount Gallant Church of God building fund, 1107 Mount Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Frankie Yates

FORT MILL - Mrs. Frankie Joe Snyder Yates, 65, of 211 Spratt St. died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cauthen Funeral Home.

Peggy Beer

MOUNT CROGAN - Ms. Peggy Neal Beer, 50, of Route 1, Box 144, formerly of Rock Hill, died Monday, March 2, 1998, at her home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Bass Funeral Home.

Marilyn Blanks

ARDEN, N.C. - Mrs. Marilyn Louise Blanks, 50, of 28 Treetop Drive died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morris Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jane Curran officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Churchyard.

An Anderson native, Mrs. Blanks graduated from Winthrop College with a degree in education.

Surviving are her husband, Bill Blanks of Arden; her brother, James Robert Webb of Anderson; and two sisters, Faye Ellison and Rema Rankin, both of Anderson.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Morris Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center, P.O. Box 16, Asheville, NC 28802.

Erma Bolin

YORK - Miss Erma Ruth Bolin, 72, of 1997 Ratchford Road died Monday, March 2, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Clover, with the Rev. David Inman officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Miss Bolin was born in York County.

Surviving are her son, Harold Dean Bolin of York; her brother, E. Odell Bolin of Clover; five sisters, Mattie Belle Huffsteller, Ellen B. Timmons, Mary B. Wallace and Zelma B. Bryant, all of Clover and Irene B. Davidson of York.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Clover.

Ralph Casey

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Ralph Edward Casey, 84, of Greenfield Manor died Monday, March 2, 1998, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.

Born in Statesville, Mr. Casey worked at Springs Industries' White Plant in the card room. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Fort Mill American Legion Post 43 and the Gastonia AmVets. He was the widower of Wilma Stewart Casey.

Surviving are two sons, Edward Casey of Fort Mill and Kenneth Casey of Rock Hill; his daughter, Sandra Thrift of Rock Hill; his stepson, Keith Stewart of Gastonia; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his son Edward Casey, 213 McKenzie St.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church building fund, 1249 Oakdale Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

John Crockett

FORT MILL - Mr. John Lewis Crockett of 109 Gilmore St. died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at his home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Carlwell Culp officiating and the Rev. Mildred Patton assisting. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery.

An Edgemoor native, Mr. Crockett attended Chester County public schools. He was a former construction worker.

Surviving are his wife, Hester Ervin of Fort Mill; two brothers, Audrey Crockett Jr. and James Crockett, both of Rock Hill; and five sisters, Minnie Davis and Maggie Bouler, both of Rock Hill, Bessie White of Fort Mill, Thelma Barber and Mary Massey, both of Charlotte.

The family will receive friends at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Doris Culbreth

DECATUR, Ga. - Mrs. Doris Hamilton Culbreth, 83, formerly of Fort Mill, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at A.G. Rhodes at Wesly Woods.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Flint Hill Baptist Church in Fort Mill. A graveside service will be at Flint Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Culbreth graduated from Winthrop College in Rock Hill and taught sixth-grade science in the public schools of South Carolina for 30 years. She was an active member of Flint Hill Baptist Church for 70 years. She was GA sponsor and was active in the Women's Missionary Union for almost 70 years. She was the widow of Judson Grady Culbreth.

Surviving are her son, Jackson L. Culbreth of Dunwoody, Ga.; her daughter, Judith E. Culbreth of Wilmington, N.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at Flint Hill Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Greenville College, P.O. Box 1892, Tigerville, SC 29688.

Louise Givens

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Louise Dunham Givens, 63, of 909 Arleen Circle died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at Avanteé Nursing Home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tabernacle AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Danna K. Martin officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Givens was a retired cook.

Surviving are her husband, Leonard Givens Sr. of Charlotte; three sons, Roosevelt Dunham and Leonard Givens Jr., both of Charlotte, and Michael Givens of Santa Ana, Calif.; six daughters, Eva Nash, Annie Givens, Mary Givens, Linda Harris and Annette Simmons, all of Charlotte and Sadie Phifer of Rock Hill; her mother, Anna Dunham of Charlotte; her brother, Sammie Dunham of New York City; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Beasley's Chapel in Charlotte.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Faye Hilton

FORT MILL - Mrs. Faye Hope Howell Hilton, 73, of 405 Calhoun St. died Monday, March 2, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 7 tonight at Greene Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating and Dr. George Dye assisting. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

A Rock Hill native, Mrs. Hilton was a member of Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was the widow of Marion H. "Hency" Hilton Sr.

Surviving are two sons, Marion H. Hilton Jr. of Fort Mill and Danny Hilton of Rock Hill; her daughter, Barbara Furr of Anson County, N.C.; her mother, Mabelle Whitaker Howell of Rock Hill; six grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at Greene Funeral Home after the service and at other times at the home of her son Marion H. Hilton Jr., 403 Calhoun St.
