William Smith

THOMASVILLE, N.C. - Mr. William "Boodie" Smith, 69, of 1006 Unity St. died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at Winston-Salem Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church, with the Rev. H.N. Goode officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park in High Point, N.C.

Born in York County, Mr. Smith was employed at Bill Mangum Concrete Co. in High Point for several years. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and its Male Chorus. He attended the public schools of South Carolina and was a Thomasville resident for over 30 years.

Surviving are his wife, Robbie Lee Miller Smith of the home; two foster sons, Rodney "Bo" Edwards of Baltimore and Freddy Eugene Smith of Hickory Grove; his sister, Marie Davis of Hickory Grove; his stepmother, Maggie McCoy of High Point; his grandmother, Allene Nichols of Hickory Grove; his half brother, Alex McCoy of High Point; five half sisters, Sarah Williams, Bobbie Mills and Mable McCoy, all of High Point, Ovelia McCoy of Gaffney and Betty Haywood of Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at S.E. Thomas Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Pauline Brunson

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Pauline West Brunson, 82, of 5116 Great Falls Highway died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at Tanglewood Nursing Home in Ridgeway.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church, with the Revs. Mike Sollers and Billy Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Born in Kershaw County, Mrs. Brunson was a dietitian at Great Falls High School cafeteria and an Avon representative for more than 30 years. She was a charter member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God, where she taught the ladies' Bible class for many years and was a missions booster. She attended school in Kershaw and was a 1932 graduate of Great Falls High School.

She was the widow of Lucius L. Brunson.

Surviving are her son, Ralph Brunson of Great Falls; her daughter, Paulette Brunson of Great Falls; two sisters, Ruby Yarbarough of Spartanburg and Margaret Freeman of Greenville; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Kimberlin Marthers

ROCK HILL - Kimberlin Shea Marthers, the infant daughter of Celeste D. Marthers of 3162 Devonshire Drive, died Monday, March 2, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Terry Wingate officiating.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her maternal grandparents, Marvin Marthers of Columbia and Delane Marthers of Rock Hill; her maternal great-grandparents, Jesse J. and Nell Cameron and Bobby and Ellen Crosby, all of Rock Hill; and her great-great-grandmother, Mae Marthers of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the home, after the graveside service.

Memorials may be made to Carolinas Medical Center Genetic Research Center, 1000 Blythe Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.

Johnnie Mae McClure (1 of 2)

CHESTER - Mrs. Johnnie Mae McClure, 86, of Magnolia Manor, formerly of 2216 Cedar Grove Church Road, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.W. Thompson officiating and the Rev. George Lowry assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A York County native, Mrs. McClure was the widow of Woodrow McClure and was a homemaker. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where she was past president of the Missionary Circle, a member of the hymnal choir and a member of the Union Aide Society. She was a member of the AP&B Society Lodge No. 3 and she attended York County public schools.

Surviving are her brother, Willie Carter of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and her sister, Beatrice Simpson of Brooklyn, N.Y.

The family will receive friends at 2:30 to 3 p.m. today at the church.

Denton Funeral Home is in charge.

FORT MILL - Mrs. Dorothy Helms Sexton, 75, of 400 Calhoun St. died Monday, March 2, 1998, in Columbia.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Jessie Sims officiating.

Mrs. Sexton was born in Stanly County, N.C., and was a homemaker.

Surviving are two sons, Albert R. Sexton and William E. Sexton, both of Fort Mill; her daughter, Barbara Hughes of York; two brothers, Jack Morgan and George L. Morgan, both of Rock Hill; two sisters, Willie McDaniel and Josephine Wells, both of Rock Hill; three grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son, Albert R. Sexton, 400 Calhoun St.

Jessie Sullivan

LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Mrs. Jessie Prue Reynolds Sullivan, 74, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at Presbyterian Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Laboratory United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Linda Stack Morgan officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Born in Lincoln County, N.C., Mrs. Sullivan was a retired textile worker. She was the widow of Heyman Sullivan.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra S. Gore of Asheboro, N.C., and Anita S. Coxton of Rock Hill; five sisters, Betty Reynolds Norris of Phoenix, Jean Reynolds Lyon of Texas, Shirley Reynolds Saine of Lincolnton, Viola Reynolds Hopkins of Balitmore and Dorothy Reynolds Willis of Dallas, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Warlick Funeral Home.

Sue White

NORTH CHARLESTON - Mrs. Sue Danie White, 98, died Monday, March 2, 1998, in Charleston.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mount Pleasant, formerly Safe Harbor Church, Six Mile. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.

Born in Shulerville, Mrs. White was a charter member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Mount Pleasant, Safe Harbor Church.

Surviving are four sons, Andy White of James Island, Dan White and Ray White, both of North Charleston, and Aimer White of Conway; three daughters, Lavonia White of Mount Pleasant, Sue Green of Davie, Fla., and Joyce Brown of Cross; three sisters, Mae Lewis of Rock Hill, Lottie Shuler of Jamestown and Lillie Clark of McBeth; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
