Mazie Johnson

FORT LAWN - Mrs. Mazie Jeanette Martin Johnson, 77, of 4491 Bobcat Drive died Friday, April 9, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at the McLean-Bumgardner Twin Oaks Chapel in Belmont, N.C., with Chaplin Bill Cobb officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly, N.C.

A native of Pell City, Ala., Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Wiley and Cora Welch Martin. She was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 380 in Charlotte. Mrs. Johnson was the widow of Ulmer Sinclair Johnson.

Surviving are her daughter, Arvis J. Jones of Fort Lawn; her son, Freddie L. Johnson Sr. of Edgemoor; six grandchildren; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. Monday at the McLean-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Belmont.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 380, Child Welfare Program, 4235 Tyvola Road, Charlotte, NC 28208.

Clyde Rich

CLOVER - Mr. Clyde Newton Rich, 56, of 306 Valley Ave. died Saturday, April 10, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, with the Revs. Mark Collins, Marvin Carson and Mike Faulkner officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mr. Rich was employed by Baco Machinery. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Mira Buff Rich of the home; two sons, Michael Rich of Charleston and Patrick Rich of Clover; his stepparents, George and Anna Hilsinger of Clover; and his sister, Estelle Shook of Houston.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

Fannie Rogers

CHESTER - Mrs. Fannie Ree Brown Rogers, 64, of 2625 Ashford Road died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Fairfield County, with the Rev. T.G. Greene officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Rogers was a native of Fairfield County. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. She was a member of CB&A Society and attended Fairfield County schools.

Surviving are her husband, David Rogers; four sons, George Rogers, Jesse Rogers, both of Chester, and Leslie Rogers and Ricky Rogers, both of the home; six daughters, Margaret Thompson, Christine Rogers and Mildred Foster, all of Chester, Rosa Coleman of Baltimore, Md., Helen Hopkins of Blackstock and Lisa Rogers of the home; two brothers, Neri Brown Jr. of Chester and Robert S. Brown of Dayton, Ohio; five sisters, Sarah Boulware of Chester, Alice Lindsay of Baltimore, Viola Coleman of Greensboro, N.C., and Willa Jones and Rosa Lee Brown, both of Pittsburgh; 24 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

Denton Funeral Home is in charge.

Joseph Thomasson

GREENWOOD - Mr. Joseph M. "Joe" Thomasson, 79, of 1110 Marshall Road died Friday, April 9, 1999, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with the Rev. Dave Patterson officiating.

A native of York County, Mr. Thomasson was a son of the late T.N. and Leila Wood Thomasson. He was retired from Ace Cabinet Shop and E.H. Hines Construction Company and flew a B-17 for the U.S. Army Air Corp in World War II. Mr. Thomasson was a member of South Main Street Baptist Church and the Greenwood Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife, Ogle Hadden Thomasson; four sisters, Margaret Thomasson of York, Jean Ginter of Charlotte, Mary Ann Jordan of Jesup, Ga., and Rachel Yamada of Riverside, Calif.; two brothers, David Thomasson of Rock Hill and Ray Thomasson of York; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The body may be viewed from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home in Greenwood. The family will receive friends at that time.

Marion Wright

WEST COLUMBIA - Mrs. Marion T. Wright, 74, of 1005 New Brookland Place died Saturday, April 10, 1999, at Lexington Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Northside Baptist Church in West Columbia, with the Rev. Steve Cloud officiating.

A native of Orangeburg, Mrs. Wright was a daughter of the late Marion G. and Marie Shuler Till. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and the Joyful Sunday School Class.

Surviving are her husband, Sam C. Wright; two sons, Eddie Wright of West Columbia and Gary Wright of McConnells; her sister, Mary T. Accordini of West Columbia; four brothers, Laverne Till, Leon Till, J.C. Till and Grady Till, all of Orangeburg; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington chapel, is in charge.

William Barnett

NORCROSS, Ga. - Mr. William Wallace Barnett, 67, died Sunday, April 11, 1999.

Arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home.

Sara Barnhardt

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Sara Alice Gibson Barnhardt, 62, of 663 Hickory Oaks Lane died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at 2535 Lesslie Highway.

Arrangements will be announced by Bass Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bass Funeral Home and at other times at the home of John Q. Gibson IV, 1523 Springsteen Road.

Herbert Bigham

CHARLOTTE - Mr. Herbert Lee Bigham, 67, of Charlotte died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethesda United Methodist Church cemetery in Great Falls, with Dr. Stuart Snow officiating. Burial will follow.

Mr. Bigham was a native of Chester County. He was retired from Springs Industries.

He was the son of the late Clyde Bigham and Carrie Morgan Bigham.

Surviving are his daughter Beatrice Bigham Carter of Lancaster; five brothers, William Bigham of Gastonia, N.C., Clyde Bigham and Eugene Bigham, both of Rock Hill, Neely Bigham of Charlotte and James Bigham of York; five sisters, Yvonne Estes, Gertie Deese, Lillie Belle Collins and Jessie Mae Black, all of Lancaster, and Louise Rabon of Rock Hill; eight stepchildren; two grandchildren; and 16 step-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the High Point Freewill Baptist Church building fund, 2095 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hartley Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Bigham's daughter, Beatrice Carter, 2200 Harmon Lane, Lancaster.
