Lillie Mae Dixon
CHESTER - Ms. Lillie Mae Dixon of Byrnes Medical Center in Columbia and formerly of Jeter Street in Chester died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at the center.
The family is at the home of Floyd and Addie Grant, 121 1/2 Mill St. in Chester.
Arrangements will be announced by Denton Funeral Home.

Lillie Mae Dixon
CHESTER - Ms. Lillie Mae Dixon, 86, of Byrnes Medical Center in Columbia, formerly of Jeter Street in Chester, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at the center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Second Wilson Baptist Church, with the Rev. R.Z. Bailey officiating and the Rev. Robinson assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A Chester County native, Ms. Dixon was the widow of David Dixon. She was a member of Second Wilson Baptist Church, where she was a deaconess, in the missionary circle and a choir member. She was a member of Josephus Eastern Star Chapter 160 and a member of the CB & A Society. She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Phillips Industries
Surviving are her brother, Captain White of Philadelphia; her sister, Margaretta Evett of Philadelphia; her nephew whom she reared, Lorenzo White of Chester; four nieces all of whom she reared, Addie Grant of Chester, Gwendolyn Smith of Jamaica, N.Y., Odessa McClurkin of Long Island, N.Y., and Fannie Mae Jackson of Baltimore.
The family will receive friends at the home of Floyd and Addie Grant, 121 1/2 Mill St.
The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
Denton Funeral Home is in charge.

Richard Farias
LANCASTER - Mr. Richard Farias, 65, of 170 Blackmon Road died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at his home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine Catholic Church. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
Born in Providence, R.I., Mr. Farias was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired truck driver for Davol, Inc. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Frances Knight Farias; three sons, Gary Farias of Warwick, R.I., and Richard Farias and Kevin Farias, both of Lancaster; his daughter, Sharon Gallant of Cranston, R.I.; his mother, Adeline Rouge Farias of Providence; two brothers, James Farias and Russell Farias, both of Providence.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Catherine Catholic Church, 720 West Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720.

John Simril
CHESTER - Mr. John William Simril, 84, of 106 Shamrock Drive died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at Medowhaven Rehabilitation and Specialty Care.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Joe Brooks officiating.
Born in York County, Mr. Simril was a graduate of Oakley Hall High School and an Army/Air Force veteran of World War II. He was in banking for 50 years and was president of Commercial Bank prior to its merger with American Bank and Trust Co. He retired as city executive of First Citizens Bank. He served on the board of Chester County Natural Gas Authority for 26 years and the Catawba Regional Development Corp. for 10 years. He was past president of the Chester County Chamber of Commerce and had served on the board of directors of the S.C. Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Purity Presbyterian Church since 1933 and served as a deacon and elder for 60 years.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret S. Simril; his son, William S. Simril of Marietta, Ga.; his daughter, Lane Stogner of Hartsville; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Memorials may be made to Purity Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 278, Chester, SC 29706.

Emmiett Clinton
YORK - Mr. Emmiett Marion Clinton, 62, of 609 E. Liberty St. in York died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, with the Rev. Eddie Usher officiating.
Mr. Clinton was a retired textile worker with Springs Mills.
Surviving are four brothers, Phillip Clinton, Jimmy Clinton, Ricky Clinton and Randy Clinton all of York; and four sisters, Debbie Black of Clover and Connie Clinton, Retha Smart and Carolyn White, all of York.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

Sharon Helms
LANCASTER - Mrs. Sharon Ann Adams Helms, 43, of 1649 Home Circle died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at High Point Freewill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Stuart Snow and Curtis Cameron officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
Born in Lancaster, Mrs. Helms was employed by B.C. Moore and Sons department store and was a member of High Point Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Dennis Calvin Helms; her parents, John Evans and Mary Lee Lathan Adams of Lancaster; two brothers, John "Bennie" Adams of York and Timothy M. Adams of Lancaster; and 58 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Raymond Hollis
GREAT FALLS - Mr. Raymond Clyde "Toad" Hollis, 84, of 212 Chester Ave. died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at Tanglewood Health Care Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Darrell Twitty officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Born in Great Falls, Mr. Hollis was the former manager of Republic Golf Course. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and attended Great Falls public schools.
He was a member of the Professional Golfers Association and was instrumental in building the clubhouse at the golf course. He was greens superintendent at the Lancaster Golf Course for 10 years. He was a member of Great Falls Masonic Lodge No. 277.
Surviving are his wife, Melvenia Byrd Hollis; his daughter, June Brewer of Rock Hill; two sisters, Clyde Mobley of Great Falls and Louise Traywick of Dillon; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Ethel Kelly
CLOVER - Miss Ethel Lee Kelly, 45, of 744 Guinn St. died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home in York, with the Rev. George McCoy officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Miss Kelly was a member of Gold Hill Baptist Church in York.
Surviving is her aunt and legal guardian, Bessie Pitts of the home.

Sherry McWaters
LANCASTER - Ms. Sherry Marie Anderson McWaters, 30, of 1717 Sigman St. died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dale Roach officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
Born in Lancaster County, Ms. McWaters was a cosmetologist at Cameron's Hair Styling and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Brandon Matthew McWaters of the home; her parents, Michael and Linda Anderson of Lancaster; her brother, Michael Shannon Anderson of Lancaster; two sisters, Wendy Darnell Anderson of Florence and Chrystal Perry of Mount Pleasant; and her paternal grandmother, Peggy Clough Plyler of Lancaster.
The family will receive friends at Mahaffey Funeral Home from 7 to 9 tonight and at other times at her parents' residence, 1384 Riverside Road.

Alice Potts
LANCASTER - Mrs. Alice Massey Starr Potts, 90, of 201 Chesterfield Ave. died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Harold Hutcheson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Born in Rock Hill, Mrs. Potts was the widow of Heyward Dawson Potts. A homemaker, she was a member of Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church, the Women of the Church, the Oasis Senior Citizens and the Good Neighbor Club of Van Wyck.
Surviving are three sons, Heyward D. Potts Jr. of Charlotte, and William D. Potts and Bruce S. Potts, both of Fort Mill; three daughters, Alice Baker of Heath Springs, Jeanne Epps of Huntington, W.Va., Catherine French of Clemmons, N.C.; her brother, Robert M. Starr of Murrells Inlet; her sister, Ruth Vaughan of Van Wyck; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Lancaster chapel of Cauthen Funeral Home.

Mary Robinson
EDGEMOOR - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Sanders Robinson of 3713 Dion St. died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
Burial was at Harmony United Methodist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Robinson was a member of Red Oak AME Zion Church, the Red Oak Ensemble Choir, the usher board and the missionary society. She attended Emmett Scott High School and was employed by One-Hour Martinizing and Manetta Mills in Lando.
Surviving are her son, James B. Robinson of the home; three daughters, Gloria Robinson and Martha Hefley of the home and Annie Foster of Edgemoor; her sister, Dorothy Lee of Edgemoor; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Robinson Funeral Home was in charge.
