Nancy Blancke

CLOVER - Mrs. Nancy L. Vossen Blancke, 69, of 2241 Meadow Road died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, with Father Ed McDevitt officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in York.

A native of Williamson, W.Va., Mrs. Blancke was a daughter of the late Elmer Vossen and Elenor Eisenhower Vossen.

Surviving are her husband, Wilbur Blancke; her daughter, Dana Baker of Pageland; three sons, Wilbur Blancke Jr. and Ray Blancke, both of York, and Dennis Blancke of Edgemoor; her brother, Paul Vossen of Orlando, Fla.; her sister, Betty DeGarmo of Miami, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

Ginger Byrd

KERSHAW - Mrs. Ginger Gayle Geiger Byrd, 41, of 190 E. Fourth St. died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Archie Neal and the Rev. Hugh McKinney officiating. Burial will be at Kershaw City Cemetery.

A homemaker, Mrs. Byrd was a member of Second Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday school class.

Surviving are her husband, Charles Isaac Byrd; two sons, Charles "Gene" Byrd and Bryan Byrd, both of Kershaw; her daughter, Dana Rowell of Kershaw; her parents, Jake Jeff Geiger and Grace Rollins Geiger of Kershaw; five brothers, Billy Joe Geiger of Lancaster, Jackie Geiger, Jerry Geiger and Howard Geiger, all of Kershaw, and Toney Geiger of Camden; two sisters, Betty Jean Stevens and Carol Taylor, both of Kershaw; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw-Camden Highway, Kershaw, SC 29067.

Ruby Carnes

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Ruby Carnes, 80, of 1915 Ebenezer Road in Rock Hill died Monday, April 5, 1999, at White Oak Manor.

Wolfe Funeral Home is in charge.

Perry Faile

LANCASTER - Mr. Perry Donald "Fuzzy" Faile, 58, of 1696 Hillcrest Ave. died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Immanuel Baptist Church, with the Revs. Dale Roach and Bill Poore officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mr. Faile was employed by Springs Industries as a sheet metal fabricator and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Perry D. Faile and Ella Faile.

Surviving are his wife, Jean Dawkins Faile of the home; his son, David Faile of Lancaster; his daughter, Donna Jean Long of Lancaster; three stepsons, Terry Shehane and Eric Shehane of Lancaster and Michael Shehane of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Sharon Morgan and Karen Lloyd, both of Lancaster; two sisters, Edith F. Gheant and Perry Lee Emory, both of Lancaster; and 16 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 1152 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.

John Hardin

ROCK HILL - Mr. John Ernest Hardin of 803 Ogden Road died Monday, April 5, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Robinson Funeral Home.

Julius Harris

LANCASTER - Mr. Julius Wylie "Jim" Harris, 75, of 3254 Cimmeron Road died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Clayton Cordell officiating. Burial will be at Hopewell United Methodist Church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Harris was a son of the late Lonnie Richard Harris and Lottie Jane H. Harris and was the widower of Edith Whitaker Harris. He was retired from PPM and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are five daughters, Wanda Dawkins of Blackstock, Judy Ann Harris of Ranlo, N.C., Jane Eubanks, Joyce H. Barnes and Patricia Knight, all of Lancaster; his brother, Thomas "Bud" Harris of Lando; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Harris will be taken to his home today, where the family will receive friends.

Memorials may be made to Hospice, 800 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720.

Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge.

Margaret Horton

CHARLOTTE - Margaret Amelia Horton, the 9-day-old daughter of Carol Horton of Charlotte, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Park Road Baptist Church in Charlotte, with the Rev. Paul Hanneman officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her twin sister, Abigail Marie Horton of the home; and her maternal grandmother, Margaret W. Horton of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends after the service.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 6604, Columbia, SC 29260.

Mildred Mahaffey

CHESTER - Miss Mildred Virginia Mahaffey, 74, of 110 Courtland St. died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Parkway Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronald Gaddy officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

A native of Chester, Miss Mahaffey was a daughter of Luther Marshall Mahaffey and Lizzie Wells Mahaffey. She was retired from Springs Industries and was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church. She attended Chester schools.

Surviving are two nieces, Terry Cameron and Vancy Moss, both of Chester.

The family will receive friends at home.

Memorials may be made to Parkway Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1227, Chester, SC 29706.
