Willie Wilkinson

ROCK HILL - Miss Willie Beckham Wilkinson, 82, of 111 Sedgewood Drive died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Lincolnton Presbyterian Church cemetery in Lincolnton, Ga., with the Rev. Sarah Juengst officiating.

Miss Wilkinson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, and she was retired after 37 years at Fulton National Bank in Atlanta. After retirement, she traveled extensively and loved to play bridge. She was a graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga., and a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy.

Survivors include her niece, Margaret Walker of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends after the service.

Memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1830 Celanese Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Joe Wishert

CARLISLE - Mr. Joe Thomas Wishert, 87, of 11989 State Highway 215 North died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Cool Branch Baptist Church, with the Revs. Dale Roddey and John Mullis officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester, Mr. Wishert was a son of the late Lawrence Wishert and Bessie Hinnant Wishert and was the widower of Mary Eubanks Wishert. He was retired from Springs Industries, was a member of Cool Branch Baptist Church and attended the schools of Cool Branch.

Surviving are his son, Joe Wishert of Carlisle; his brother, Haskell Wishert of Blythewood; three sisters, Annie Lee Stephenson of Lowrys, Ella Mae Traylor of Chester and Bessie Fant of Union; two grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Cool Branch Baptist Church, 10726 State Highway 215 North, Blair, SC 29015.

Audrey Blanks

LANDO - Mrs. Audrey Ramsey Blanks, 71, of 3704 Tadlock Road died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lando Church of God, with the Rev. Charles C. LaFoy officiating. Burial will be at Lando Cemetery.

A native of Lando, Mrs. Blanks was a daughter of the late William Wade and Eller Coker Ramsey. Mrs. Blanks was a retiree of Manetta Mills in Lando with 30 years of service and member of Lando Church of God.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Blanks of York, Fred Blanks of Williston and Wade Blanks of Fort Lawn; three sisters, Frances Thorpe of Edgemoor, Lula Sides of Fort Lawn and Sadie Quinn of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will recieve friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at home.

George Brown

CLOVER - Mr. George Robert "Chicken" Brown, 54, of 756 Guinn St. died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Fishing Creek Baptist Church in York, with the Rev. Terry L. Wallace Jr. officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Brown was a son of the late Luther and Georgia Naomi Garvin Brown Sr. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1962. He attended Allen University in Columbia where he majored in physical education and played basketball. He later played professional basketball for the Carolina Cougars. He was employed for many years at Rauch Industries in Gastonia, N.C.

Surviving are five sisters, Mamie Boulware, Frances Love, Latisha Brown and Jemeka Brown, all of Gastonia, and Willene Gadsden of Baxley, Ga.; three brothers, Charles Brown and Donald Brown, both of the home, and Johnny Brown of York.

The family will receive friends at the home.

The body may be viewed from 7 to 8 tonight at Wright Funeral Home.

The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Zenta K. Bundza

FORT MILL - Mrs. Zenta K. Bundza, 76, of 1135 Doby's Bridge Road died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Clyde Cook

CHESTER - Mr. Clyde Richard Cook, 69, of 614 Empty Pockets Drive died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating.

A native of Chester, Mr. Cook was a son of the late Samuel and Mabel Mahaffey Cook. He was employed with Southerland Associates, Inc. in Charlotte. He attended First Baptist Church of Chester. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He attended Chester High School.

Surviving are his wife, June Baker Cook; his daughter, Teresa C. Frazer of Oak Island, N.C.; two stepsons, James E. "Speedy" Baker of Chester and Scott A. Baker of Rock Hill; his brother, Robert Cook of Chester; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 518, Chester, SC 29706.

Agnes Forbes

LANCASTER - Mrs. Agnes Louise Breckinridge Forbes, 73, of 625 Eton Lane died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, N.C.

Arrangements will be announced by Cauthen Funeral Home.

A native of Detroit, Mrs. Forbes was a daughter of the late Harry and Annie Gow Breckinridge. Formerly of Allen Park, Mich., she was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband, Jack Forbes; two daughters, Lynn Suzanne Somey of Mount Holly, N.C., and Leslie Ann DaRonco of Allen Park, Mich.; and three grandchildren.

Hugh Graves

CLOVER - Mr. Hugh John Graves, 45, of 6670 Highway 557 died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly, with the Revs. Lewis Gunn and Paul Jenkins officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Graves family cemetery in Pageland.

A native of Monroe, N.C., Mr. Graves was the son of the late Max Herschel Graves and Frances Martin Graves. He was a retired lieutenant from the S.C. Highway Patrol and was a member of Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.

Surviving are his wife, Deborah Kirkley Graves; his son, John Drew Graves of the home; his daughter, Amy Frances Graves of the home; two brothers, Tom Graves of Central and Martin Graves of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sisters, Annette Moser of Monroe, N.C., and Ellen Johnson of Gaffney; his stepmother, Elsie Graves of Pageland; and his stepsister, Cindy Kirkley of Pageland.
