Anne Wicklund

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Anne Therese Wicklund, 62, died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital.

The funeral will be 7:30 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4207 Shamrock Drive in Charlotte, with the Rev. Francis Gillespie officiating.

Mrs. Wicklund was born in Worcester, Mass. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and a member of the Square Wheelers Square Dance Club. She was a residential property manager.

Surviving are her husband, Clark E. Wicklund, Sr.; two sons, Clark E. Wicklund Jr. and Raymond Wicklund, both of Rock Hill; two daughters, Celeste Graham of Lancaster and Gail Wicklund of Charlotte; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the church foyer. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of North Carolina, 5315 Greenbrook Drive, Charlotte.

Charles Bankston

FORT MILL - Mr. Charles L. Bankston, 73, died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at home.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Tega Cay Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jesse Wilson officiating.

Mr. Bankston was a native of Augusta, Kan., and a son of the late Charles and Hazel Bankston. He served in the Army infantry during World War II. He moved to Fort Mill in 1984 and was an electrical contractor.

Surviving are his wife, Susan Moore Bankston; three sons, Michael Bankston of Wichita, Kan., Mark Bankston of New York and Troy Bankston of Charlotte; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Tega Cay Baptist Church, 1875 Gold Hill Road, Tega Cay, SC 29715 or to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Annie Mae Clawson

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Annie Mae Clawson, 80, of 122 Tom St. died Monday, March 29, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, with the Rev G.G. Johnson officiating and the Rev. Leroy Ellison assisting. The Rev. Ralph Cunningham will give the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Clawson was a member of Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Society, Hymn Choir, Willing Workers Club and the deaconess board.

Surviving are two sons, Chinell Clawson Sr. of Rock Hill and Wallace Clawson of Baltimore; two daughters, Beatrice Ballard and Bessie Mae Fewell, both of Paso Robel, Calif.; her brother, Calvin Howard of Rock Hill; four sisters, Lillie Mae Campbell, Elizabeth Whitlock and Geraldine Tucker, all of Rock Hill, and Creola Wilson of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Clemons Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Chinell Clawson, 1457 Quiet Acres Circle, Rock Hill.

The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Francis House

ROCK HILL - Mr. Francis R. "Frank" House, 91, of 1103 Cherry Meadow Lane died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at home.

The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. William A. Fox Jr. and elder James McKenrick officiating.

A native of Danielson, Conn., he was the son of the late Herbert and Anna Ritter House. He retired from Westinghouse in 1970 after more than 30 years of service. He was a former instructor at York Technical College. He was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Skaneateles Masonic Lodge No. 522 F&AM in Skaneateles, N.Y., and a life member of the American Welding Society. After retirement, he delivered meals to shut-ins for several years.

Surviving are his wife, Irene Demarest House; his daughter, Beverly Jones of Newton, N.J.; two grandchildren; twin great-grandchildren; and his caregivers, Linda Grantham and Claudia Swoope.

Masonic Rites will be 6:30 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home. The family will receive friends afterward until 8 p.m. and at other times at home.

Senie King

FLORENCE - Mrs. Senie Mozingo King, 91, died Monday, March 29, 1999, in a Florence hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Waters-Powell Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.

A native of Darlington, Mrs. King was the daughter of the late Ethan Allan and Mary Rawls M. Thompson Mozingo. She was a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Mary King Fulmer of Florence; three sons, James Allan King of Asheville, N.C., Richard King of Boca Raton, Fla., and Hugh Bevard King of Mount Pleasant; her sister; Martha McKeel Tierney of Darlington; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Waters-Powell Funeral Home.

Ell Massey

ROCK HILL - Mr. Ell Massey, 74, of 428 Hagins St. died Friday, March 26, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Foundation AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Daran Mitchell officiating and the Rev. Loretta Adams assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Massey was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. after 43 years of service. He was a member of Foundation AME Zion Church, where he sang in the choir. He attended York County public schools and was a Mason.

Surviving are his companion, Lottie Whitlock of Rock Hill; five sons, Bobby R. Whitlock and Lawrence E. Whitlock, both of Rock Hill, and Ell Massey Jr., Nathaniel Massey and Furman Massey, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nine daughters, Beverly Y. Whitlock, Linda G. Patton, Daisy M. Whitlock, Vanessa V. Joseph, Peggy A. Whitlock, Vicki J. Massey and Carol A. Whitlock, all of Rock Hill, and Joanne Smith and Edna M. Massey, both of Brooklyn; his stepdaughter, Ida Anderson of Rock Hill; four sisters, Estelle Massey of Washington, Frances Long of Rock Hill, Anna Bell Miles of Brooklyn and Irene Alexander of Neptune, N.Y.; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home.

The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Dennis Powers

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Mr. Dennis Snow Powers, 57, died Thursday, March 25, 1999.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nazarene Church in Clover.

A native of Indiana, Mr. Powers was the son of Patricia Powers of Clover and the late William I. Powers and Robert H. Snow. He was a veteran and a truck driver for several years.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Clara Snow; seven children, Angie Franklin, Patty Powers, Roger Powers and Brian Powers, all of Georgia, Sabra Snow of Robinson, Ill., Denice Snow of Alabama, and Denny Snow of Robinson; four brothers, William C. Powers of Robinson and Jerry Powers, Jimmy Powers and Timmy Powers, all of Clover; two sisters, Judy Kay Moss of Spartanburg and Shirley Ann Thomas of Clover; and 13 grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of his mother, 3155 S. Highway 321, Clover.

M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.
