Edna Walker

FORT MILL - Mrs. Edna C. Walker, 87, of 1330 Gardendale Road died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Unity Cemetery.

A Lancaster County native, Mrs. Walker was retired from Springs Industries. She was of the Pentecostal faith and the widow of Virgel L. Walker.

Surviving are two daughters, Betty W. Wood and Merlene Wood, both of Fort Mill; her sister, Mary C. Simmons of Rock Hill; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

Fort Mill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Madeline Yongue

BLACKSTOCK - Mrs. Madeline Brannen Yongue, 87, formerly of Blackstock, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at the White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Doug Irvin officiating.

Mrs. Yongue was a homemaker and the widow of Edward Austin Yongue. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Great Falls and attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She attended the public schools of Bullock County, Ga.

Surviving are her daughter, Rachel Harper of Charlotte; her brother, Alvin Brannen of Great Falls; and her granddaughter, Kelly B. Harper of Atlanta.

Memorials may be made to Hebron Presbyterian Church, 4776 Mountain Gap Road, Blackstock, SC 29014.

Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home is in charge.

D'Arcy McGill

CLOVER - Mrs. D'Arcy Bouknight McGill, 81, of 412 Memorial Drive died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethany ARP Church, with the Rev. Alan Morrow officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Richland County, Mrs. McGill was a longtime member of Bethany ARP Church. She was the widow of John Leslie McGill.

Surviving are three daughters, Judy M. Thomas and Renee M. Wilmoth, both of Clover, and Mary Jane McGill of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her sister, Margie B. Dent of Columbia; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Bethany ARP Church, 1400 N. Highway 161, Clover, SC 29710.

Roosevelt Sanders

NEWARK, N.J. - Mr. Roosevelt "Kid" Sanders, 77, of Newark, formerly of Chester, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at St. Michael Hospital.

The family will be at the home of Terry and Karen Houston, 619 Ebony Grove Lane, Chester.

Arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

Timothy Carroll

GASTONIA, N.C. -Mr. Timothy Avan Carroll, 26, of 1203 W. Second St. died Sunday, March 21, 1999, in Gaston County, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wright Funeral Home in York, with the Rev. Keith Hunter officiating. Burial will be at Hopewell United Methodist Church cemetery.

Mr. Carroll was a forklift driver for Triple D Publishing.

Surviving are his wife, Debra Brown Carroll of Shelby, N.C.; his father, Joe Worthy of Gastonia, N.C.; his brother, Chris Pressley of Gastonia; his sister, Channell Aigbedo of High Point, N.C.; his grandfathers, Donald Wood and Mason Carroll, both of Gastonia; his grandmother, Elizabeth Worthy of Gastonia; and two step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Friday at Hopewell United Methodist Church in York.

Sadie Hancock

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Sadie Bradley Hancock, 87, of 5237 Knopf Road died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, in Fort Mill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Rumford and the Rev. Dr. Bill Traywick officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Bath, Mrs. Hancock was the daughter of the late Levi Bradley and Florence Fincher Bradley. A homemaker, she was a member of Heath Chapel United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Frank Hancock.

Surviving are two sons, David Hancock of York and Donald Hancock of Fort Mill; his daughter, Francis H. Gaskin of Cheraw; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Heath Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Lawrence E. Stroud, 6086 Richburg Road, Great Falls, SC 29055.

James Horton

HICKORY GROVE - Mr. James Morgan "Tucker" Horton, 69, of 1461 Bonner Horton Road died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Bullock's Creek Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Gene Thompson and Tommy Hope officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Sharon, Mr. Horton was the son of Eva Inman Horton of Hickory Grove and the late E. Bonner Horton Sr. He was a member of Bullock's Creek Presbyterian Church. He retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing after 25 years.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two sons, James Bruce Horton of Jacksonville, Fla., and Frank Allan Horton of Sharon; his daughter, Karen Denice Horton of Rock Hill; three brothers, E.B. Horton Jr. and William Horton, both of Hickory Grove, and Walter Lee Horton of Rock Hill; six sisters, Betty Price of Axtelle, Texas, Trula Hamm and Dorothy Horton, both of Lockhart, Carolyn Bradley of Chester, Linda Belue of Union and Eleanor Michealls of Clover; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home in Union and at other times at the home.

The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Rescue Squad.
