Daisy Reid

ORLANDO, Fla. - Ms. Daisy L. Reid, 81, of 2122 Aaron Ave., formerly of Chester, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at her home.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Brown's Chapel AME Zion Church in Chester, with the Rev. O.L. Smith officiating.

Mrs. Reid was a graduate of Brainerd Institute in Chester. A native of Chester, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Laura Reid. She had a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Benedict College and a master's degree from South Carolina State University. She retired from the Orlando public school system after 28 years.

Surviving is her goddaughter, La-Rita Rollins of Orlando, who was her caretaker.

The body may be viewed from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Gore's Funeral Home.

Robert Robinson

KERSHAW - Mr. Robert Bruce "Bud" Robinson, 56, of 156 Blackmon Circle died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hartley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Buford Hayes and Archie Neal officiating. Burial will be at Kershaw City Cemetery.

A native of Kershaw County, Mr. Robinson was the son of the late Robert Brice Robinson and Sally Williams Robinson. He was a retired supervisor for Springs Industries Grace Finishing Plant, a Mason at Kershaw Abney Lodge No. 31, a Shriner of Jamil Shrine Temple in Columbia, and a member of Second Baptist Church in Kershaw.

Surviving are his wife, Jean Carol Watts Robinson; his son, Robert Charles "Chuck" Robinson of Charlotte; his brother, Earl Dean Robinson of Kershaw; and three sisters, Shirley Byrd, Peggy Williams, both of Kershaw, and Patricia Shaw of Lugoff.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Suite 311, Columbia, SC 29204-9894.

Kelley Steffey

ROCK HILL - Mr. Kelley Steffey, 54, of 2506 Celanese Road, Apt. N, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at home.

A native of Floyd County, Ky., he was the son of the late Charlie L. and Carlie Adkins Steffey. He was of the Church of Christ faith and served in the Air Force for two years. He was member of the United Mine Workers of America and a Mason. He worked in the coal mines of McDowell and Wyoming counties of West Virginia for 17 years.

Surviving are his wife, Cathy Karnes Steffey; two daughters, Vickie S. Graham of Pocahontas, Va., and Fayetta S. Cartwright of Boissevain, Va.; two stepdaughters, Jamie M. Altizer and Angela J. Altizer, both of Rock Hill; two adopted daughters, Jennifer S. Mullins of Prestonsburg, Ky., and April S. Nelson of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Ralph Stone

CATAWBA - Mr. Ralph Raymond Stone, 56, of 736 Cedar Valley, Lot 60, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ralph R. Stone Memorial Fund c/o Greene Funeral Home, P.O. Box 11549, Rock Hill, SC 29731.

Frankie Worthy

CHESTER - Mrs. Frankie M. Worthy, 78, of 570 Center St., formerly of the Wilksburg Community, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at King Funeral Home in Charlotte, with the Rev. Warren McKissick officiating and the Rev. Dr. Lorenza Lynch assisting. Burial will be at York Memorial Park.

Mrs. Worthy was of the Baptist faith. She was a native of Edgefield County, was the widow of Fee Arthur Worthy and was a retired laundry presser.

Surviving are her brother, Allen Brown Gomillion of Morganton, N.C.; and her sister, Louise Dean of Charlotte.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

The family will receive friends from noon to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at King Funeral Home in Charlotte.

Robbie Young

DETROIT - Mrs. Robbie Barnes Young, 89, formerly of Great Falls, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital.

The funeral will be announced by Washington Funeral Home in Great Falls.

Lela Brown

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Lela Brown of 737 South York Ave. died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 4:15 p.m. Sunday at Tabernacle AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Herbert Crump officiating. The Rev. T.R. McBeth will give the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Brown was a native of York County. She was a member of Tabernacle AME Zion Church. She attended the public schools of York County.

Surviving are her daughter, Delois B. Prosser of Bronx, N.Y.; two sons, Larry Brown and Joe Brown, both of Rock Hill; her brother, Nathaniel Barber of Rock Hill; two sisters, Lessie Perry and Geneva Barber, both of Greensboro, N.C.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
