Robbie Young

DETROIT - Mrs. Robbie Barnes Young, 89, formerly of Great Falls, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Nebo AME Zion Church in Great Falls, with the Rev. Sam Latta III officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Great Falls, Mrs. Young attended Chester County public schools.

Surviving are two daughters, Juanita Posey and Marva Smith, both of Detroit; two sisters, Maggie Timms and Juanita Simpkins, both of Great Falls; her brother, Joseph Barnes of Statesville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Washington Funeral Home in Great Falls is in charge.

James Davis

YORK - Mr. James Austin Davis, 84, of 1 Wright Ave. died Friday, March 5, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A private family service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the home.

A native of Madison County, N.C., Mr. Davis was the son of the late Robert L. Davis and Molly Lunsford Davis. He and his wife were the former owners and operators of Helen's Flower Shop. He was a member of Philanthropic Masonic Lodge No. 32 and First Baptist Church in York. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Gregory Davis; two daughters, Cynthia Davis Parker of Gastonia, N.C., and Charlotte Davis Pitts of Rock Hill; his brother, Walter L. Davis of Mountain Home, N.C.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 236, York, SC 29745.

Alton Every

MAULDIN - Mr. Alton Lyon Every, 59, of 106 Wellington Drive died Thursday, March 4, 1999.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Harmony Fellowship Church in Greer. Burial will be at Mauldin United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Every was the son of Evelyn Buchanan LeGrande of Rock Hill and the late Lyon Alfred Every. He attended Clemson University and was employed by Michelin. He was co-founder of Harmony Fellowship Church, where he was a former Sunday School teacher and treasurer.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Jo Ann Fogle Every; six daughters, Kimberly Powell of Greer, Elizabeth Baldree of Easley, Sunshine Grant of Travelers Rest and Sarah Every, Cherish Every and Angelica Every, all of Myrtle Beach; five sons, Lyon Every and Solomon Every, both of the home, Joshua Every of Myrtle Beach, William Fogle of Baltimore and Joseph Fogle of Flat Rock, N.C.; three brothers, Roger Every, Ronald Every and David LeGrande, all of Rock Hill; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home.

Jessie Hinson

KERSHAW - Mrs. Jessie Mae Gandy Hinson, 78, died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at Kershaw County Medical Center in Camden.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Abney Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mendel Baker officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Kershaw, Mrs. Hinson was the daughter of the late Walter Coleman and Minnie Taylor Gandy. She was retired from Springs Industries. She was a member of Abney Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Women's Missionary Union and the Sunshiners. She was the widow of Wade Hampton Hinson.

Surviving are two sons, Ricky A. Hinson of Charlotte and Paul H. Hinson of Columbia; her daughter, Sylvia Matthews of Wake Forest, N.C.; six brothers, Otis Gandy, Coleman Gandy, Charles Gandy and Earl Gandy, all of Kershaw, Carl Gandy of Lancaster and Ralph Gandy of Columbia; three sisters, Myrtle Hinson of Lancaster, Vera Hunter of Kershaw and Ruth Lawhorne of Greensboro, N.C.; two grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Abney Baptist Church, 3706 Roberts Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.

James Lawrence

UNIONDALE, N.Y. - Mr. James Edward Lawrence, 67, formerly of Clover, died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 7:30 p.m. Monday at John Moore Funeral Home, 150 Nassau Road, Roosevelt, Long Island, N.Y. Burial will be Tuesday at Long Island.

Surviving are two sons, Dane Lawrence of Rock Hill and Norman Lawrence of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two daughters, Linda Lawrence of Queens, N.Y.. and Glenda Booker of Uniondale, N.Y.; his mother, Fannie Guthrie of Clover; two brothers, Bobby F. Lawrence of Clover and Ned Guthrie Jr. of Cleburne, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at John Moore Funeral Home.

Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Audrey McClain

FORT MILL - Miss Audrey Jane McClain, 32, of 320 Morgan St. died Friday, March 5, 1999, at Mercy Hospital South in Pineville, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wolfe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Sosebee officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

A native of York County, Miss McClain was the daughter of the late Barbara Holt McClain. She attended school in Fort Mill and was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Mike Taylor of the home; her adoptive parents, Barry and Jessie Faile of Fort Mill; her adoptive brother, Sid Faile of Fort Mill; her adoptive sister, Sharon Faile of Fort Mill; and her niece and nephew, Lacey and Dylan Taylor, both of the home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Faile, 318 Morgan St., Fort Mill.

Gene Price

FORT MILL - Mr. Gene Wade Price, 53, of 1700 Hensley Road died Friday, March 5, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Fort Mill Church of God, with the Rev. David Kemp officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

A native of Gastonia, N.C., Mr. Price was the son of the late Wade and Geneva Bright Price. He was the former owner of Price's Grocery on Hensley Road in Fort Mill. He later worked at Spring's White Plant as a security guard for Weizer Security Co. He was a member of Fort Mill Church of God and an avid golfer.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Blackwell Price; three sons, Bobby Gene Price and Benny William Price, both of Fort Mill, and Roger Dale Price of Indian Land; two brothers, Steve Price of Pendleton and Wayne Price of Shelby, N.C.; his sister, Carolyn Swaney of Pendleton; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Belva Craig

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Belva McFadden Craig, 83, of 1557 Dunlap Roddey Road, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at her home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Holly United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Raous officiating.

Mrs. Craig was born in Lancaster and retired from the packing department of the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. after 38 years. She was the widow of Buddy Craig and was the daughter of the late Will and Sadie Belk McFadden.

Surviving are her son, Donald Craig of Rock Hill; her daughter, Jean Breakfield of Orangeburg; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bass Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Mount Holly United Methodist Church building fund, 1996 Mount Holly Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
