Addie Griffin

FORT MILL - Mrs. Addie Rodgers Griffin, 97, of 7669 Charlotte Highway died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews, N.C.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Friday at Belair United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Bob Dunn and Bert Watson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Griffin was the daughter of the late William J. and Eudosia Perry Rodgers. She was the widow of Marshall Oley Griffin. A homemaker, she was a lifetime member of Belair United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, painting, gardening and fishing.

Surviving are her son, Olin Griffin of Floyd, Va.; her daughter, Joyce McGuirt of Fort Mill; her brother, Carl Rodgers of Mineral Springs, N.C.; three sisters, Bess Pettus and Alta Howie, both of Fort Mill, and Florence Earnhardt of Monroe, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the home.

Memorials may be made to Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelley Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Wolfe Funeral Home is in charge.

Frankie Jenkins

GREENWOOD - Mrs. Frankie Stewart Jenkins, 85, formerly of Clover, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at National Health Care Center.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Filbert, with the Rev. Paul Hutchinson officiating.

A native of York County, Mrs. Jenkins was the daughter of the late John P. and Emma Boyd Stewart. She was a graduate of Clover High School, a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Easley. She was the widow of Ervin Jenkins.

Surviving are her son, the Rev. Larry Jenkins of Greenwood; two daughters, Judy Edwards of Easley and Hilda Rickenbaker of Summerville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Harley Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son, the Rev. Larry Jenkins, 1010 Heathwood Drive.

Memorials may be sent to Main Street United Methodist Church Relief Fund, Greenwood.

M. Edward Latham

DELMAR, Del. - Mr. Monroe Edward "Ed" Latham, 60, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Del.

Burial was at Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Bear, Del.

A native of York County, Mr. Latham was the son of William M. Latham and the late Helen R. Latham. He was a retired truck driver and veteran of the Air Force. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Surviving in addition to his father are his son, Scott A. Latham of Seaford, Del.; three daughters, Lynette Brittingham of Snow Hill, Md., Tammy Harmon of Berlin, Md., and Lisa Higginboth of Brooklyn, Conn.; his sister, Faye Smith of Rock Hill; and six grandchildren.

Short Funeral Home was in charge.

Flora Neal

MANHATTAN, N.Y. - Mrs. Flora Neal of 200 W. 147th St. died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at her home.

Arrangements will be announced by Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, Chester.

The family will be at the home of her niece, Ella Mae Reno, 147 Loomis St.

Brian Nelson

CHARLOTTE - Mr. Brian Conley Nelson, 24, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in Chicago.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lowe-DeBord Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road.

Mr. Nelson was the son of Conley Edward and Marsha Yandle Nelson of Charlotte.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Randy E. Nelson of Rock Hill; his fiancee, Elizabeth Steinfels of Chicago; his grandfather, Samuel Yandle of Rock Hill; and his great-grandfather, Fred Broome of Charlotte.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lowe-DeBord Funeral Home.

Mildred Sims

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mildred McCloud Sims, 71, of 837 Lucas St., Apt. 104, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home, with the Revs. Eugene Goodman, Caldwell Culp and Ronal King officiating. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Sims attended York County public schools. She was a homemaker and a former member of Pineville AME Zion Church.

Surviving are her son, Arthur Moore of Sharon; two daughters, Louise Joseph and Doretha S. Anderson, both of Rock Hill; her brother, William McCloud of Washington; two sisters, Ruth Sanders of Charlotte and Beatrice Blunt of Washington; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Leacost Small

CHESTER - Mr. Leacost Small, 100, of Chester County Nursing Center, formerly of West Lacey Street, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at the nursing center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Prospect Baptist Church, with the Rev. George Sims officiating and the Revs. W.E. Page and Oltha Smith assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A Chester County native, Mr. Small was a retired farmer. He was the oldest member of Mount Prospect Baptist Church and was a member of AP&B Society No. 15.

Surviving are two sons, Paul Lee Small and Carl Land, both of Chester; seven grandchildren, two of whom he reared, Willie Small and Mary Ann Wylie, both of Chester; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Denton Funeral Home.

The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The family will receive friends at 111 Memorial Drive.
