Mary Barnette

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mary Lena Jones Barnette of 214 Clinton Ave. died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at home.

The funeral will be noon Saturday at Mount Hebron Baptist Church, with the Rev. L.L. Robertson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Barnette was a native of York County. She was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Cecil Roscoe Barnette; two sons, Calvin Barnette and Frankie Barnette, both of Rock Hill; her daughter, Louise Barnette of Atlanta; her stepdaughter, Selena Massey of Rock Hill; two grandchildren, one of whom she reared, Adrian Barnette of Rock Hill; and four step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Luther Childers

HICKORY GROVE - Mr. Luther Childers, 80, of 2028 Wilkerson Road died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at York Funeral Home, with the Rev. Olivene Martin officiating and the Rev. Donald Childers assisting. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

A native of York County, Mr. Childers was the son of the late John and Rachel Childers. He was a retired loom fixer from Cannon Mills Inc. He was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Humphries Childers; three sons, Larry Childers and Michael Childers, both of York, and Joey Childers of Hickory Grove; his daughter, Pat C. Krepps of York; his stepson, Gary N. Childers of Spartanburg; two stepdaughters, Dorothy Ann Stewart of Hickory Grove and Billie Jean Childers of Spartanburg; his brother, Mason Childers of Lockhart; his sister, Ella C. Crocker of Pineville; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at York Funeral Home.

James Gregory

CHESTER - Mr. James Gregory of 100 Torbit St., Apt. 7-F, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road.

The family will be at the home of Dorothy Davis, 100 Torbit St., Apt. 7-F.

Leroy Jordan

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Mr. Leroy Jordan, 68, formerly of Rock Hill, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at Vencor Hospital.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Hargett-Gilmore Funeral Home, with the Rev. F.O. Bass officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Jordan was the son of the late Daniel and Johnnie Mae Belton Jordan. He attended Rock Hill public schools. He was a former Mason and member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. He was a truck driver and retired from Akzo Noble. He was the widower of Virginia Smith Jordan.

Surviving are his son, Leroy Jordan Jr.; three brothers, Johnny Jordan of High Point, N.C., Ronald Jordan of Charleston and James A. Jordan of New Jersey; four sisters, Rosalie Archie and Margaret Dingle, both of High Point, Willie Mae Canty of Rock Hill and Mary E. Roseboro of Winnsboro; and his grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m. today at the Hargett-Gilmore Funeral Home and at other times at 809 Rosecrest Drive.

Clara Neal

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Clara Morton Neal, 92, of 1915 Ebenezer Road died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be private, with the Rev. Jimmy Holley officiating.

A native of Albemarle, N.C., Mrs. Neal was the daughter of the late Ireness P. and Fannie Burleson Morton. A homemaker, she worked part time as seamstress out of her home. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was the widow of Fred W. Neal.

Surviving are her son, Robert W. Neal of Rock Hill; her sister, Annie Mae Morton Collins of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the home of her son, Robert W. Neal, 1027 Meadow Lakes Road.

Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church building fund, 318 N. Jones Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Maggie Funderburk

CLOVER - Mrs. Maggie L. "Mickey" Funderburk, 69, of 401 Stonegate died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill, with the Rev. Terry Wingate officiating.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Funderburk was the daughter of the late John E. Broughton and Lois Wells Reeves. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Lenson L. Funderburk; her daughter, Joyce Green of Kannapolis, N.C.; her sister, Bernice Jordan of Clover; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Clover Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 214, Clover, SC 29710.

M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.

Clara Hendricks

WEST MELBOURNE, Fla. - Mrs. Clara Angel Hendricks, 94, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at Indian River Center.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Florida Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Florida Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are two daughters, Faye Rector of Rock Hill and Loraine Hines of Melbourne, Fla.; her sister, Rebecca Angel of Bowling Green, Ky.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
