Thomas Crosby

NEW YORK - Mr. Thomas Lee "T.C." Crosby, 56, of 135 W. 112th St., formerly of Chester, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in New York.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Sweet Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. J.K. Stringfellow officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Crosby was a member of Sweet Hope Baptist Church. He was a former member of security at LaGuardia International Airport and a housing complex in New York. He was educated in the public schools of Chester County and graduated in Baltimore. He was a funeral home attendant in New York.

Surviving are his son, William Crosby of Chester; his daughter, Debra Crosby of New York; two sisters, Maggie Chisholm of New York and Geneva Hinton of Baltimore; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of William Crosby, 235 Farrington Drive, Chester.

The body may be viewed from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester,

The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Friday.

Gloria Durham

WASHINGTON - Ms. Gloria W. Durham of 3231 Aldin Place, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Washington Adventist Hospital.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at China Grove AME Zion Church in Rock Hill, with Dr. Cynthia Russell officiating and the Rev. Johnny Worthy assisting.

Ms. Durham, a native of Washington, was a homemaker and lifelong supporter of China Grove AME Zion Church.

Surviving are her son, William "Bill" Durham of Washington; four daughters, Latoya Durham, Glenda Durham, Brenda Durham and April Durham, all of Washington; her sister, Rayford Durham of Stanford, Conn.; and three grandchildren.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Helen Barefoot

RICHMOND, Va. - Mrs. Helen Allen Barefoot, 59, of Richmond died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bon Air Christian Church. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Barefoot was a 1960 graduate of Rex Hospital School of Nursing in Raleigh, N.C. She worked at Wake Memorial Hospital for 16 years and was a nurse consultant at Travelers Insurance Co. for 15 years.

Surviving are her husband, Donald R. Barefoot; two daughters, Pamela Harrell of Richmond and Kelly Snavely of Mechanicsville, Va.; her sister, Jewell F. Brook of Fort Mill; and two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Helen A. Barefoot Memorial Fund, c/o Bon Air Christian Church, 2071 Buford Road, Richmond, VA 23235.

Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Chapel, is in charge.

Alberta Brown

ROCK HILL - Ms. Alberta "Money" Brown, 92, of 633 Harrison St. died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at New Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert C. Brown officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Ms. Brown attended Fairfield County public schools. She was a former member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church in White Oak. As a member of New Zion Baptist Church, she was a member of the Senior Choir and Block Club No. 5.

Surviving are her son, Chris Brown of the home; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Robinson Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends at home.

The body will be placed in church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Lamont Epps

FORT MILL - Mr. Lamont Pettus Epps, 81, of 108 Ridge Road died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Flint Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Sanders officiating.

Mr. Epps retired from Springs Industries after 40 years of service. He was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Kidd Epps; two sons, Donnie Epps and Bobby Epps, both of Fort Mill; three daughters, Ann Kimbrell of Rock Hill, and Polly Rockholt and Jean Carlisle, both of Fort Mill; three brothers, Blease Epps of Rock Hill, and John L. Epps and Joel Epps, both of Fort Mill; his sister, Evelyn Whitley of Rock Hill; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Community Presbyterian Church, 500 N. White St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Carl Hunt

ROCK HILL - Mr. Carl Lyle Hunt, 71, of 1020 Ridgemont Road died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Hogg officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Hunt worked at Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. for 27 years in the rayon finishing department. He is former owner and operator of BC&C Antiques. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and First Baptist Church. He worked at Arenonica Insulation in Pineville for three years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Keller Hunt; his daughter, Carla Hunt Barbaree of Rock Hill; three sisters, Laura Leo MiKeal of Huntersville, Helen May of Greer and Mary Lee Kalergis of Earlysville, Va.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Bass Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Carla H. Barbaree, 195 Brookwood Lane, Rock Hill.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Breaking New Ground, 215 East Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
